I stumbled onto the Potterverse in the summer of 2007, the weekend that DH came out, which was also the weekend I had a screening of the latest film. I reread HBP after starting DH and realizing it had been awhile, so, by the end of that weekend, I was overdosed on Harry Potter . . . and needed a fix! I stumbled onto SS/HG fics. These turned out to be far and away my favorite of these writings, in part because they're almost all wickedly erotic, funny as hell, deeply moving, and a vindication of intelligence as the ultimate aphrodisiac!
In RL I am an actor and a writer.

Thank you so much! I love it when cool guys reveal themselves to be not as cool as they think they are!

Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Here's lookin' at you, kid! Thanks for the toast (and the chortle!)!*raises glass, slurps*
That was YUMMY!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Thank you so very much! Would you care for whipped cream on that, madam?
His eyes stayed resolutely on the pages of his book, but his snort was audible. “Calling that pathetic parade of misfits and losers a love life would dignify what the cat dragged in.”Oh, LOL -- the repartee in this story is just excellent!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Oh, I like that one, too! Thanks for quoting and for reviewing. I really appreciate hearing from you!
Nice!. Your Snape sounds so much like John Malkovich in "provocateur" mode on
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Oh, now that's an interesting piece of casting! (He's quite a nice man, actually. Malkovich, not Snape.)Thanks so much for the lovely review!
Strolling across to glare down at the one holdout, she inquired, “Aren’t you dead?”Snape did not even look up from his book. “And aren’t you married to a Weasley by now?” Its the witty banter I just love! Friendly taunting and a relationship that can handle the snark. Your story reminds me of Trial & Tribulation by loves23rules over on Ashwinder. Give it a read, I think you'll be amused.
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
I had read it awhile back (it's posted as Trial and Trepidation), and it was utterly wonderful and sweet to revisit just now--thanks for reccing! And thanks for quoting one of my favorite bits, my little homage to the Epilogue That Should Never Have Been (at least not as it's conventionally read...). A relationship that can not only handle the snark but actually thrives on it, I think!Such a lovely review! Grazie!
Response from MollysSister (Reviewer)
Trepidation? Hey I was close it is a long t word! hahahah
Lovely. I enjoyed the banter between them very much - and a heroine definitely deserves a hero like Severus!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Doesn't she just!Thank you so very much reading and reviewing!
“it’s really much easier to read when you hold it right side up.”This line is fabulous. Still gigling about it.
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
It pays to be very observant. And to stay within grabbing range. Thanks so much for reviewing--glad I could make you giggle!!
Lovely! And a heroine really does need a proper hero of her own. Mere mortals just won't measure up. ;-)
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Oh, isn't it true? Someone to shine medals with each evening, compare scars with, share flashbacks with....Thank you ever so much for reviewing. It means a lot to hear from you!
Delightful! didn't need the survival details, the conversation and teasing was exquisitely enough. Well done!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Thank you--it was a lot of fun to write, and I'm so glad you enjoyed reading it. For this one, it was enough that he did survive, if only so he could banter hos way through the evening. Thanks for reviewing!
I am absolutely certain that Severus knows exactly how to treat ha heroine, especially when said heroine is named Hermione:-))
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Oh, so do I! And I'm fairly sure she knows how to treat a hero, too. Just one more thing that makes 'em a great match. Thanks you so much for reviewing!
Well written, one-shot.
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Thank you so very much!
What fabulous dialogue! I love the interaction between the two. The snip and snark, yet do it with such amusement and flirtatiousness in their voices.
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Thank you! I think it's precisely that snip and snark that appeals to them both--they are well matched in my mind. So glad you liked it!
this is some of the best I've read in a while. snappy comebacks without overusing the snape clichés (he doesn't sound like he's from the 19th century! hooray!), a connection of wit, no unnecessary smut that does nothing for the plotline, a believable situation, a hermione that is neither helpless, celibate, promiscuous, intimidated, nor deranged. no unnecessary frills.
this is excellent. it is what SS/HG ought to be. I hope someday I will be able to write like this. thank you so much.
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Thank you so much for all the lovely comments! Yeah, I guess he sometimes does sound a bit...old-fashioned? stilted? stuffy? And while I quite like reading unnecesary smut (in PWPs, anyway!), I just can't write it--it embarasses me!Glad you liked Hermione, too--to my mind, she's very much his match!Thank you so much for reviewing!!
what a fun story! very witty banter. i liked how he was keeping such close track that he knew which one was #6, for instance. my favorite line: War heroes whove returned from the dead should be able to write their own tickets." i should hope so! *giggles* also, your title made me realize how close the words "hermione" and "heroine" are, because at first i thought the name was "dating a hermione."
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Hermione the Heroine! Thanks so much--I love that he was keeping track, too, maybe waiting til she got past Unlucky #13 to make his move (and figuring she'd appreciate him by then, as she'd have a lot of less impressive experiences to compare him to--which might be why he set up that unnnamed cousin!). Thanks so much for reviewing!
great dialogue!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Thank you so much--it was great fun to write!
Oh, very nice!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Thank you so very much!
Oh, I liked it! I'm sure word play would be the way to get either character's attention. Thanks for your work!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
Oh, yes, I think they'd both appreciate the creative use of words--verbal turn-ons can be so much more intriguing sometimes! Thanks for the review!
*snort* The back and forth is fantastic! Well done!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
*snort* indeed!! (Hope you weren't drinking milk at the time!) Thank you so much for reviewing!
hee hee - that was great! Loved the banter and Sev's devil-may-care attitude - as well as the way Hermione shattered said attidtude by pointing out his reading situation.
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of Dating a Heroine)
I love that he almost gets away with being cool...and then she notices enough to catch him. Thanks so much for the review, it means a lot coming from you!
