45 years old and hopelessly intrigued by the Potterverse and all that it contains. Really, I'm too old for this sh*t, but... here I am.

Aw, poor Charlie! Still, it's only right that Severus & Remus are together. But, poor Charlie! I'm quite heart-broken for him, even as I'm happy that Severus & Remus are together (as they ought to be!)  Of course Charlie shouldn't have attempted to take Remus away from Severus... but, still... I liked the use of second-person voice in Severus's piece - an interesting choice but it worked well with his sense of self-chastisement & self-recrimination.  And I liked the fact that you didn't use third person voice with Remus, where it wouldn't have been as effective - the contrast of the voices highlights the differences in the two characters.

Response from HogwartsHoney (Author of The Winner Takes It All)

My poor Charlie indeed. *pets him*  I actually really adore him in a role as a 'third' for this pairing, especially when they let him play with them both! *cough*I think that Charlie is both brash and supremely self-confident, and, after all, Severus and Remus weren't officially An Item (in the public eye, anyway), so he was sort of within his right. Kinda. If you squint!Severus, however, does not stand for usurpers.  I was surprised that it took him that long to come to his senses, but... well, that's Severus, eh?As for the different voices - I'd recently read something using second-person and I thought it was an interesting angle to try, especially when attempting to crawl inside Severus' head.  I'm happy that you enjoyed it, and thanks for reading and reviewing! ;o)~H

Such a beautiful, beautiful story! Wonderfully crafted and very nicely written. I loved every second of it. Great tension.

Response from HogwartsHoney (Author of The Winner Takes It All)

Thanks! Tension was what I really wanted to convey as well as a little desperation almost. Happy you enjoyed it!~H

THREE years of angst for Severus! I guess that is the length of time he needed to realize the rules needed to be dropped! And they lived happily ever after. Lovely!

Response from HogwartsHoney (Author of The Winner Takes It All)

Yeah, well Severus had to really 'feel' it y'know? :O)Happy you enjoyed! Thanks for the review.~H

oh.my.god. this was so beautiful, and powerful, and moving, i barely know what to say. this is one of my favorite pairings, and i think you captured the emotions and interactions of these two characters so well. my heart started breaking when severus thinks he's "impossible to love." and then this image: "But the ice is what keeps you from dying, even as it keeps you from living..." when remus starts remember about life with severus, i couldn't help weeping. but gods bless you, you gave it a positive resolution. i really loved it. : )

Response from HogwartsHoney (Author of The Winner Takes It All)

Wow! That's one hell of a review! ;o)  Strangely enough, I'd forgotten I'd written this one, and when I re-read it I felt punched in the gut by that same line about the ice keeping him from dying.  I thought "I wrote that?" 'cause, man, it hurt! I'm happy that it worked for you too, and I also adore this pairing. Thanks and lots of Snupin-y love!~H

Oh, my.  Well, I'm glad Severus finally got his act together, but I kind of feel sorry for Charlie.

Response from HogwartsHoney (Author of The Winner Takes It All)

Yeah, so do I, actually. I adore Charlie, and he's really the good guy in all of this.  There's been talk of a sequel...
