I stumbled onto the Potterverse in the summer of 2007, the weekend that DH came out, which was also the weekend I had a screening of the latest film. I reread HBP after starting DH and realizing it had been awhile, so, by the end of that weekend, I was overdosed on Harry Potter . . . and needed a fix! I stumbled onto SS/HG fics. These turned out to be far and away my favorite of these writings, in part because they're almost all wickedly erotic, funny as hell, deeply moving, and a vindication of intelligence as the ultimate aphrodisiac!
In RL I am an actor and a writer.

Love this story !!!!Have 2 questions though...Why is she asking about the consequences of breaking a marriage vow?And later Aeverus says "murder' and Hermione says "justifiable homicide"This flew right ovfr my head :)...
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Her question about consequences is, I think, part of her ongoing desire to know everything about the magical world, and to try to make conversation with this man who is standing there in front of her staring at her."Justifiable homicide" is what she is going to do to Ginny, who she thinks is responsible for trying to get her and Severus together at this wedding.Glad you enjoyed it--thanks for reading!

Thanks for explaining, I did think it was something like that, but for some reason, I wasn't sure.I'm one of those people who ship SS/HG but don't particularly like it when other characters are bashed to get there. It's not even about liking the other characters, I just don't find it neccessary.....
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
I'm not heavily into bashing other characters, either (though I did make Ron a real villain in one piece). Hope you don't feel I was being mean to Ginny (or Harry, for that matter) here--I think they were trying to help. Glad to clear up the confusion!
Response from pansycat (Reviewer)
Oh no, Ginny and Harry were great....It specifically fits in with how I view Harry, ultimately...That he grew up and learned from the past, rather thanbe haunted by it...The thing is I always thought Harrywas intelligent enough to figure things out on his own...As for his previous hostility towards Snape, that wasn't entirely his fault...He was being manipulated by both Dumbledore and Snape to some degree....Now in DH(the movie), there was a pretty large hint about Snape's loyalty...before he evn saw the memories...Which I'm not sure he undertood but it would explain his gentleness when he finds Severus dying..In the book, he doesn't have this hint and yet he isn't reveling in Snape's death at all. At that point I think he had completely let go of his anger towards him..

Adorable, and a yay for Harry (and Ginny and ROo)! Thanks.
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Thank YOU! Glad you enjoyed this!
Your characterisation is delicious! A fabulous story.
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Thank you so much! It's always lovely to get a nice review--as I am sure you are finding out! (and very addictive, as it makes you want to write more so you can hear back from your readers!) Thanks for reviewing, it means a lot.
Top to bottom - just delightful! So captivating and clever. Really a complete joy to read!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Aw, I'm blushin'! Thanks so much for the sweet words!
Harry is a fabulous matchmaker! But who was Ron's bride? *is so curious to find out*
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Would you like to be? I can arrange it (I know the writer!). Seriously, if I can think of a completely unexpected answer, I'll write #3.And it'll give Ron a moment to shine, too. Though he'll probably be drunk. Thanks for reviewing!
Response from CharmedForce (Reviewer)
Hehehe... Daphne Greengrass. After all, if Astoria still marries Draco, then that makes Ron and Draco brother-in-laws.Can you imagine Ron and Draco as brothers, at family events, exchanging Christmas presents? Hahahaha!
very good. although the dancing lessons at hogwarts reeks of cheese. I like severus's admission of weakness. and also how you COMPLETLEY FOOLED ME (in a good way) over whose wedding it was.
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Oh, dontcha think they had mandatory dancing lessons? And dontcha think they both were earnest students unable to really let themselves go until just this moment?I like his admission, too.And I'm so glad I was able to fool you!! That's one of the fun things about writing!Thank you for all your lovely reviews--they really do encourage me to write some more (calling all little plot bunnies!).
How sweet. I'm glad there's a happy end.
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
But of course there is! Thank you so much for your lovely review--it makes me happy to see it!
That's a lovely sequel. It's nice to see Harry as a grown-up and a good fried to Hermione. I'm glad Severus chose to stay :)
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Yes, Harry really is a good, brave friend, and I think he learned a lot about Severus once he saw his memories and understood what he had sacrificed. And I think Hermione's probably glad he got him to stay, too!Thank you so much for reviewing--it's lovely to hear from readers who take the time to respond!
What a nice followup to the first story! Glad Severus didn't run away. He's no coward, but when one's life is on the line in the world of love...
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Some things are scary, and some things are really scary! Thanks for the sweet review!
How subtle, how sneaky, how clever, how lovely!*happy sigh*
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
And how nice to read a happy sigh from a happy reader!
Ahh! I enjoyed this!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Thank you so much--it was a lot of fun to write, too!
Oh, I do so love it when Harry gets all Slytherin and manipulates people for their own good. At least the epilogue gave us a Harry resigned to seeing the good side of Snape. Nice of Ron to make himself both scarce and useful by providing a social event for Severus and Hermione to attend. Very amusing followup. I wonder if Severus will be content to leave things there? Perhaps he'll start whispering in your ear as to what should happen next.
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Oh, if he could actually whisper in my ear, I'm afraid I would be reduced to jelly and unable to type! But I have to confess, I am hearing a few little voices...and one of them seems to be Ron's.And he's drunk!
Response from MoreThanSirius (Reviewer)
He's probably not totally drunk. He just thinks he is because he could have sworn he saw Hermione leaving with Severus Snape. Nah. THAT couldn't have happened. He didn't even invite Snape!
Very charming, and all very in character. I enjoyed it tremendously!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Thank you so much!--I am very happy you liked it!
Lovely! And I do like the way it's quite possible to have a Snape-friendly Harry after DH without having to stretch the believability. So glad Snape found the necessary courage, too!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
If there's one thing the Epilogue did give us it was the assurance that Harry could finally appreciate Severus, even if only for his courage (though I think he'd come to see there was even more to it than that, thanks to those memories). Thank you for reviewing--it means a lot coming from you!
That was lovely! I can picture how they would not let their feelings show in the work place, to each other and would need a little prompting.
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Or even a bit of a kick in the pants. Hurray for Harry! And thank you for the sweet review!
OH now I get it! It was Harry & Ginny's wedding not Hermoine & Ron's. Clearly I am a bit slow today. meep
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Ah, but you see, Evil Writer planned on your being a bit slow, so you fell right into her evil trap, and that delights her no end! And, actually, it is Ron's wedding to someone unnamed. Harry & Ginny being already married. (Probably in a previous story.)And Hermione being therefore free to find the best wizard of all and learn what he's just found out.Thank you so much for reviewing!
So cute!! An excellent follow-up to 'speak now.' And I loved how harry brought them together, *big girlie sigh*
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
*big girlie sigh* right back atcha! Thanks for reading and reviewing!!
This was such a loveable, entertaining story. Thanks for posting it!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
And thank you for reviewing it! I'm so very glad you enjoyed it.
Harry really is a great wizard some times, or rather, he is a very good friend:-))
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Yes, he is, especially once he understands all the facts of the matter. The best thing about that evil Epilogue was its opportunity to show us that he could learn and accept a very different truth than the one he thought he knew all those years. And so it was fun to give him a chance to redeem himself where Severus is concerned.
Harry!!!
Yay, Harry!!!
I do love it when Harry comes through.
Brava. Love this story!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
Thank you so much - high praise, coming from you! (I'm a big fan of your writing.)It's funny, but I actually had no idea Harry would turn up in this story. He just walked in and took over, and that is why we love him. He recognizes true courage, because he's got quite a bit of it himself.Thank you so much for reviewing!
Response from mia madwyn (Reviewer)
It's easy in our ship for the trio to get shortchanged. I'm certainly doing it in my own. But you did a splendid job of bringing Harry into the middle and making it work!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
You're so right. Maybe the third part of this (if there is a third part) should be to give Ron a little more credit, too. I'm not sure you've been as hard on the boys as some writers have--and it's not as though they have to be unbearable prats in order to make Severus look good by comparison. (In my book, he does quite well all by himself!)
Response from mia madwyn (Reviewer)
I've let Ron step up to the plate more often than most in our ship do, which takes away from Harry. (I'm not sure why but I find many MLCs where Harry and Ron are totally supportive of her to be less interesting so I knew I wasn't going there!)
Perfect:)Hermione and Severus at their best, and a mature, responsible Harry Potter who actually has a sense of humor, too:)Couldn't ask for better, but I CAN ask for more. One more chapter maybe?Warm regards,Fizzabella
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
At the moment, I have no idea where another chapter might go, but then I didn't see this one coming at first, and y'all encouraged it out of me, so we shall see! Thanks for much for reviewing--it means a lot to me!
Lovely! I adore Snape's definition of dancing! Brava!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
I figured he'd look at it as clinically as possible and that they'd both need to be distracted before they were good at it. (I know I do!) Thank you so much for reviewing!
Very lovely! I enjoyed every minute, but particularly your Harry who has the kind of kindness and grace we usually deny him in ss/hg fiction. I don't know how you managed to have Harry Potter say, "Don't be an ass," to Severus Snape 1. believably and 2. without being killed, but it was glorious to witness!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
You've been managing to give him a bit of kindness and grace yourself, so this is especially wonderful to hear from you.I didn't even plan to put him in this, but he just walked right right in and took over. And faced down the formidable Severus Snape, bless his heart! It just felt right, and it's so amazing when that happens while you're writing.Thank you so much for reviewing--it means a lot to me!
Ah, that was sweet. A very nice start to my day. I liked your Harry -- you had him mature very nicely. Thanks for your work!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Author of One Very Good Thing)
So glad to start your day right! And Harry thanks you--it seems to have been his idea to enter this story! Thank you for your lovely review.
