Mostly Harmless! Though I have to admit, I'm even stranger than I appear. ;-) There's a pile of unbeta'd stuff on my LJ (dracfic) if you're interested in Raw, Untamed, fanfic.
Believe it or not, "How Argus Filch Got Wild, Got Laid, and Got His Magic" has been rec'ed by Know It Alls! It's true! They gave me this pretty lil' ribbon and everything! And in March 2007, they saw fit to likewise reccommend (as an antidote to angst) the story that started it all, 'Courtesy of Your Fairy God-Jarvey'--just in time for the first anniversary of that story's posting! *hugs Harm*
(I also have to admit that 'mostly harmless' may not be the most apt description of a member of the Mad Chatters...)
Finally, I just have to say... Storyville. If you were there, you know what I mean.Reviews for Once Upon a Window Pane
Nev was great, James is a prat, Al's date is scary and Lily has more brains than the rest of 'em!

*charter member of the Neville fan club*I wish I could come up with another way to include Delilah--she's so manically scary it's rather a shame not to use her!

*squee* I laughed the whole way through this one. I love how you've incorporated bits of canon into the story. Once again, wondeful characterizations and excellent wit.Great work!

*wonderful. If I could spell, that would be terrific. Are there other Al & Scorp Show stories past episode 4?*crosses fingers*

So glad you enjoyed it! So far I only have the two parts of Episode 5 completed (which you seem to have found) and I'm not sure when I'll be able to finish the series. Probably not until sometime in September or so, since I am currently caught up in preparations for the Terminus convention in August, and I have promised a good friend of mine a sequel to my Harry/Draco series. Thanks again for reviewing!

the "arms-multiplying" bit reminded me of the movie "galaxyquest". great :)
very nice, very nice...yayaaayyyy!!!! for professor longbottom! can you write more about professor longbottom, pretty please with a cherry on top? or have you already?
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
Thank you! More Professor Longbottom? Um, well, I still have 29 WIPs to clear from my personal plot bunny queue... but I adore Neville, so if Professor Bunny should appear, it might very well find itself pushed up a bit in the priority. :)
lolWhy is it that the idea of Neville Longbottom modelling certain aspects of his teaching on Snape is quite so hilarious? And poor, poor Ghost Snape when he realises that the bane of his life actually learned something in his classes, even if it wasn't quite what he intended.
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
I suspect that Snape made a substantial impression--whether he realized it or not. :DThank you for the review! (Oh, and I love your screen name! LOL!)
This chapter was simply brilliant.I have been following and greatly enjoying this mini series and your characters simply become more and more endearing. I must sincerely add in an apology for not reviewing as often as I should. My sole defence is that I have come to take for granted a certain (extremely high) level of dracontian ingenuity and have yet to be disappointed.
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
Thank you so very much!
The series will be branching out into two story arcs with the next installment--one which will continue to be gen, one will introduce slash. (Both versions of the same scene occurred to me, and since I could not choose one over the other, I wrote both.) I hope you will find one or both versions to your liking.
No apology is necessary. I'm so glad that you found the time to read it, and the inclination to enjoy it!
Fan-bloody-tastic!More please... :)
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
Thank you! I'm sure that the boys will oblige the wish for more, since they seem to be running a plot bunny rescue service on my time. LOL!
Wow. This was really great! I loved all the parallel interactions. Neville was fantastic. I think he gets too little attention in fanfic, and you've done a great snapshot of him. Thanks for posting!
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
*grin* There is not enough fic in the world to express my love for Neville! I'd write more about him, but I always have to make sure that every word does him justice.
Thank you very much for reviewing!
this is a lovely piece to your other two companion pieces!!! loved it... do write more.... love snape's ghost ....... he's even better as a ghost than he was as a professor!!!!!!!
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
Thank you! I am working on further installments--I'm glad that #4 was to your liking. :D
I think that Snape might just prefer being a ghost to being a professor. LOL!
great line !very good story
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
Thank you very kindly! Um, which line were you referencing, if you don't mind my asking? (If you copy/pasted, the review box may have lost it--it's been a bit wonky lately)
Response from Charmaine (Reviewer)
Why you… you…Damn straight, you did. I can see him saying it!
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
LOL! That was one of my favorites to write. :D
You are always such a joy to read. This fic was wonderful
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
Thank you kindly! Cheers!
The whole Snape-as-ghost scenario makes me sad, but the outcome of this story was so cheery: all of the kids, and Neville, gave Severus a very lovely Christmas present, one he can enjoy whenever he wants. Good job, you had me giggling as well as sniffling.
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
I almost think that he rather enjoys the whole being-a-ghost-thing... especially now that he's considering the possibilities of nosing (pardon the expression!) about the castle unnoticed!
Thank you so much--I do hope the balance was in favor of giggling, and that the sniffling was not too much of a hardship!
for starters, even your disclaimer had me snorting with laughter. i liked that albus brought the ghost a christmas wreath, and at the end he even kind of liked it. and of course that he revealed himself to lily, at least to an extent. and that he's so protective of the students, even as a ghost. i like the dynamics of how they all relate to each other, and can't resist snape's snide comments. personally, i'm thrilled these characters keep running around in your head, and you keep doing us the honor of letting them loose on the page.
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
*blush!*
Thank you so much! I'm glad that you enjoy this interpretation of events, and I think I can pretty well promise that the good professor will haunt my fic as an occasional break from haunting the Shrieking Shack--the lads seem to have taken up residence here, and he can't seem to stay away from whatever they're up to... LOL!
Oh, this is charming! And I know you wrote another tale about these characters. I hope some day we'll hear more about Snape's ghost from you. Perhaps you can lure him from his haunt from time to time? As a favour?
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
Hee! I think, deep down, Snape wants to be lured... I'm sure that the Lily and the boys can come up with something that will bring him around for a visit now and again. :D
(Oh, and this story is #4 in the series--'Do Not Enter,' 'Elixir,' and 'Yule Be Sorry' precede it.)
Thanks for the review!
Hahaha... I love that Snape drifted so close to school so he could see that. Maybe one day he will get closer.
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
Only time will tell if our favorite incorporeal professor decides to interact more directly with the land of the living. Maybe the lads (and Lily) will lure him back sometime... :D
Thanks again for reviewing!
I never thought I would be the least bit interested in Albus and Scorpius, but you have made in fun, funny and interesting. And given me Snape to boot! I am enjoying this series very much.Cheers,

The lads are surprisingly amusing, aren't they? (Although getting Snape to admit that is like pulling teeth. LOL!)
Thanks much for reviewing!
You attract a good class of reviewers, all of whom seem to have your command of English! I can only offer my initial scathing contempt and subsequent bemusement at professor neville's low deductions before concluding that the amount was well-conceived, due to his mild and sweet nature. I don't particularly have him as a fav character but you crafted professor Neville well. ;) (from my humble angle as a free-loading admirer of your considerable talent!)
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
Ah, Neville is a dear old friend as far as I am concerned; I doubt I would have spent much time in this fandom if he had not existed, and the only reason I write about him so rarely is for fear of not doing him justice.
Awww How sweet is Al? I loved seeing Severus' reaction to Longbottom.
Response from dracontia (Author of Once Upon a Window Pane)
Hee hee, they're good kids--which is probably why Neville hasn't departed for a place with an unlisted Floo address yet. And I like to slip our favorite ghost a little surprise once in a while. Thanks again for reviewing!

Wow! What a great ending. There were so many moments here to love, from the ferret patronus (of course) to, as per the other three episodes, Snape's thoughts on evolving matters.
Now here is where my allegiance to ship comes in. I was soooo hoping that... perhaps... Hermione could be teaching at Hogwarts and follow the boys to the Shack and find Severus and strike up some sort of human/ghost relationship. You know, with cold touches and sad feelings and more messages written on cold, frosty windows...
Ah well! Excellent all around, and I'm sure you've got a million of these requests already, but here goes: More? Another episode? Al and Scorp are frickin' priceless!
Author's Response: Um, here's a bit of bad news/good news moment:
So far, there are no plans to include Hermione in the series. (She is apparently a very busy lady who has no time for my plot bunnies these days--this is mightily annoying since I need her to finish the Fairy God-Jarvey series!)
However, I can promise that there will be more Al & Scorp (Episode 5--with a slash version and a gen version--is being beta'd right now), with some Lily, a few other old friends, and of course, Snape (who will--just maybe--go on a little field trip idependent of the lads).
It will get a bit more serious; the lads are growing up, after all. But please rest assured that the boys will never be too grown up to get into a spot of interesting trouble, and Snape will always be quick to provide his own inimitably snarky perspective!
Thank you again! *cuddles the ferret patronus*
