Piercing. Often if one could hear our hiddne thoughts and what we really think and feel they would be stunned. I am sure Professor Snape is not aware of the worry concern and care the young Miss Granger holds for him, but then she may not be aware herself. She could simply be taking comfort in the cosistant and known.

Thank you for such a thoughtful review. I have always enjoyed the exploration of inner thoughts/reactions. I'm happy you were able to enjoy this story's exploration. :-)
Nice imagery. I wonder if he could read her mind?

Thank you... I've always loved description. Hmm, well, when I was writing it I sort of debated the idea. I wanted to make it seem like it could be.... debatable, almost. :-) I think that, as a person, Snape is good at reading people, and Hermione wanted him to read her.
What a very descriptive, evocative narrative! I think you've capitalized on Hermione's earnest goodwill beautifully in this tumultuous moment of hers. It's, perhaps, the very moment she broadens her perspective to know that sometimes there is no happy ending. Very nicely done.

Thank you for reading and reviewing.
Yes, and oddly enough the wind knew it.
I think happy endings are even better when you can understand the opposite, and find goodness within the frightening part of life. It makes you more aware perhaps. Hermione has to understand the opposite first before she can grow from it.
Sincerely,

Hermione is so sad, but if she wants him to speak she will have to say something first. He won't read her mind, even though he can.
A very poignant piece. We always want what we cannot have, but coming to that understanding is difficult.Beth

Indeed. You need to find the goodness in you life. Sometimes that comes from hardships and learning from them, or easier moments and learning from them. Hermione is thinking about this. The second piece is part of the whole learning and what good can come of that. Thanks for reviewing.

The wind seems to have a life of its own or the impression is that Prof. Snape is so powerful that he controls the wind as part of his presence. Hermione, as always, is perceptive.

Thank you for reviewing.
The wind knows what Hermione doesn't know until the end.
(Snape controlling the wind would be rather cool though!)

While I was reading this a door was loudly shut by the wind. It gave me strange feeling of surreality. For a second I couldn't remember if I was on my settee or at a window waiting for someone. So thanks for the good work.

That's really spectacular! The wind can be dreamlike even in real life.

This really is one of the lovelist, most touching G-rated pieces I've read in a very long time. A very touching and completely real scenario for the two characters, in my view!
