Albus and Minerva take a holiday before the onset of the school year. Set in late August 1957. A restful retreat of a story, romantic and lemony. Take a little holiday! Part of the Resolving a Misunderstanding universe, but it's not necessary to be familiar with that story to enjoy this one. Not DH-compliant.

Reviews for A Holiday with the Headmaster
Ha, ha, love the comment about not knowing that spell when he was young!Well, I would say Albus is defintely making up for all those lost--years. Ah, lucky Minerva!<g>
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Albus certainly is making up for lost time! haha!
RL has been insane. Trying to get caught up on my reading and reviewing.I could use a Charmed bathroom like that, to say nothing of certain other charms. *ahem*Very cute, getting comfortable with each other, and Albus being nervous about frilly things. Very believable again.I'm glad to hear Minerva becoming more accepting of Malcolm. She does irritate me a bit sometimes, but that's a mark of a good character, if I can find bits I don't like, too!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Wouldn't it be great not to have to worry about too much water on the floor! Minerva's always loved Malcolm, she just finds him a bit too outrageous and given to exaggeration. She still does, but it amuses her more now than it did. Thanks for th ereview -- glad you liked the chapter!
Wow - I'm glad that Minerva helped Albus overcome his fear of having Minerva associate him with his exploits in his youth. This chapter was AMAZING - the lemons were excellent! And I'm so pleased that Minerva saw Ablach, though I'm sorry that Albus couldn't see it. I hope that one day he will be able to! Great job, as always, and I look forward to the next chapter!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
I'm glad you liked the lemons! Thanks very much.
Another fantabulous chapter and just when I needed it most. You're the BESTEST!!Goodie for Minerva for winning the wager and making Albus her sex slave for the rest of the day. Tee hee. I'm sure either way the game fell, it would have been a win-win situation. Albus was just too cute as he showed a bit of nervousness about what to expect as payment for the bet. I'm sure Minerva threw him off track with her approach but that was a stroke of sheer brilliance on her part (and yours too for dreaming up this wonderful tale). I have to admit that for a few chapters, I've actually thought of Minerva and Albus having a bit of breast-penis play since he so much loves her breasts. Great minds must think alike. And I would love to have seen the expression on Albus' face when she announced what she wanted. Tee hee. Woo hoo! Minerva was able to see the island but I felt sorry for Albus. Maybe Minerva can share her "vision" with him at some point and he can see it through her eyes. That would be very cool.Loved all the lemons in this chapter. The more you write, the hotter they become. And that, my dear, is saying something. Looking forward to the next update!GLM
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Albus certainly was puzzled by her undemanding method of extracting payment on the wager -- he was certain she was going to have him just provide her with every pleasure! haha -- she fooled him! But nicely so for them both, as you point out. I'll never for get writing my first lemon for the third chapter of AAoL -- I was as nervous as a teenager on a first date! haha! So I'm glad that you like the lemons and think they're hot!I'm glad you enjoyed it and it brighened your day!
Great googly moogly! I almost (almost) read this update before heading to teach my afternoon lecture.Darn good thing I didn't...would've made me a tad, um, distracted."Albus as sex-slave"? Oh hell yes! Cheers,Di
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Yes, it may have been a bit difficult to concentrate -- and "sex slave" is probably not a phrase you want to intersperse in your lecture by accident! I think that Minerva managed to reassure him about the true nature of their relationship. Now, next time, she can take greater advantage of her win! Teehee!Glad I could brighten your afternoon!See you around!
Yet one more reason to love rainy days, especially if Albus is around. Mmmmmm, rainy days....dreamy sigh!!! Like everyone else, I loved the way Albus woke Minerva and then her cooking him breakfast was just icing on the cake. I'm sure it could have been burnt black and he'd still have said he enjoyed it simply because she took the time to cook it herself. He just seems like that sort of man...to look at the motives as well as the outcome. I'm glad, for her sake, that it turned out edible. lolAlbus' idea of a nap...now that's the kind of nap I'd prefer on a rainy afternoon. I love how he talks to her during their foreplay and how she responds. I believe their words can be just as arousing as their touches sometimes, especially with the remembered and anticipated reactions to certain things. tee hee. And yay for discovering new positions for them still.Backgammon...fun game and it's refreshing to see them playing something other than chess. I know fanfiction writers (myself included) love to have them playing chess but after a while it gets stale. And for Minerva to accuse him of not playing his best just so she could win...cheeky little bugger. And that leads me to her challenge. I'm really pulling for Minerva on this one. The stakes are high, no matter who wins, but let's fact it...Minerva has had more time to truly explore her fantasies. I'm very curious to see what she has in store for our dear, yummy Albus. It was nice to see Minerva realize that she had been the first in some things for Albus. I have a feeling she might have felt that it had "all been done before" so to speak and to hear him confess that she was his first in many ways was a boost. His reaction to her oral pleasure and the outcome was very believable and very endearing at the same time. Awwww.Brilliant job as always!!!GLM
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Thank you! We will see the outcome of the game very soon, and the result of the wager, as well. I hope you enjoy it! And I'm glad you liked the backgammon games -- it's a great game that combines luck and skill, and it moves fast, as well, so it can be a fun one to play on a rainy day. Thanks for the review -- I always enjoy reading what bits you liked!
Another exciting and stimulating chapter. ;-) Glad Albus and Minerva were able to make so much lemonade out of the rainy day! ;-) I hope Minerva does win the match b/c I want to see her lesson plan in action and see what her learning objective is! "At the end of the session the learner will be able to.... " I hope it's a measurable outcome. ;-) Maybe she could continue to take advantage of his tendancy to distraction to ensure her win, as her mother might advise.I went to the beach for about 3 hrs today. No Albus. No sex. No seals. Oh well!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Well, three hours on the beach with Albus, sex, and seals would have been preferable, but at least you had the beach!I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter! Thanks!
Response from esoterica1693 (Reviewer)
I know there are beaches around here that do have seals, one of them quite controversial:http://www.lajollaseals.com/http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/ecology/seal-beach-controversy-in-la-jolla-california/921 and others which have S.E.A.L.s http://www.welcometocoronado.com/Military/military_navyseals.html ...but I'm rather stumped on finding the other two things ....
Hmm... I wonder who will win their game! I was ever so chuffed to see an update when I logged on this evening - I was actually going to re-read some of the earlier chapters, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a new one! This was a great way to end my Easter! I enjoyed their "nap", and Albus finally managing to wake Minerva up! Great job, as always, and I look forward to the next chapter!!!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Thank you! I'm very glad you enjoyed it!
For a moment, I was worried we were about to learn that Gertie and Malcolm had Animagus forms. Now, I'm going to go look up the recipe for bubble and squeak.Happy Easter!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Growing up, we ate it and called it 'colcannon,' but I figure he'd call it bubble and squeak. Often served with bangers! I still make colcannon during the winter. It's a wonderful dish on a cold day!And I just chuckled as I finally understood your first sentence! haha! That's the lovely thing about warded, unplottable islands -- your only audience will be nonhuman! (I presume, never having had a warded, unplottable island!)
More learning to cohabitate and negotiate. I do hope Albus doesn't pull a muscle or something. Is it wise to go from dry spell to the sexual Olympics quite this fast?I suppose he'll know by the time they return to Hogwarts.
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
They do have the benifits of the peacock blue pain potion for taking care of soreness and such! Otherwise, they'd be as sore as Minerva was when she had to have her potions the Saturday before they left Hogwarts. Handy to have potions and house-elves to bring them!
The challenges of getting used to cohabitation. I agree with Albus on this one. I don't like sharing drawers, though I'm okay with sharing the dresser.
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Me too -- it's hard enough for me to find stuff as it is! lol. Little differences between people and whether they become big differences, and how they get worked out, help determine how a relationship will proceed.
"I'll take the punishment," she says. "No! I'll take the punishment," he says. These two are having a very nice little honeymoon. Has it occured to them that the reason they can't see Avalon is because they are standing on it? At least, their own little piece of it.
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Teehee! I wouldn't mind Albus's idea of a "punishment" at all! It is, indeed, a bit of a blessed island, that's for sure!
A little lemonade, a little hollandaise sauce, and thee. They are making me long for blue skies, sunshine, someone to take a nice walk with and a house-elf to do the cooking.
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Love that first line! Nice dream of a holiday, isn't it? I'd just settle for a house-elf for a day . . . but the sunshine, blue skies, etc., I wouldn't reject! Thanks!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
fans self with magazine. There is snow on my front lawn, but it seems pretty warm in here. Must have something to do with what I've been reading. These two are making up for lost time. It is pretty telling that he wanted to carry Minerva over the threshold. Who knew that Albus Dumbledore had a love shack?
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
They sure are making up for lost time, aren't they! Yup, his own little love nest -- and he's showing her his devotion quite freely. Getting away from Hogwarts was a very good thing for them!
My apologies for not reviewing before now, but I just had the chance to start reading this story last night. Wonderful job with this. I'm enjoying it tremendously. I love the descriptions of everything, the house the island, the creatures around the island, the mystery of the island that appears at sunset.... so, so, full of lovely details. Thank you!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
You're welcome! Thanks very much for reviewing -- I'm glad you're enjoying it. I hope to have another chapter up in a few days.
Aww. They danced, and cuddled on the couch. Nothin' better. And those standing stones sound wicked cool!Oh and the seals with the hat, and as an audeince. LOL. Minerva should be sweet and remember to buy him a new hat! And I love the bit about fantasizing during committies. Can't blame the man, no indeed!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
I know, long, boring meetings where things that could be accomplished in five minutes take an hour because everybody has to talk and repeat what others have said and on and on . . . zzzzzzzzzMaybe Minerva will find him the perfect summer walking hat! Thanks for reviewing!
Whoo-hah! I liked how Albus had such a good perspective on the draft in their bedroom. And I loved how determined Minerva was with traversing the island. And you got in some Sex on the Beach. Yay!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Yep, Minerva is one determined witch! And Albus knows he's very lucky. Glad you liked the Sex on the Beach!
Sex on the beach and boy was that hot!!! You are the absolute QUEEN, no make that ICON, of lemons!!! The more Albus/Minerva lemons you write, the steamier they get and I’m looooovin’ it!Okay, so I had a huge giggle in this chapter. The image of four seals watching Albus and Minerva making love on the beach was hysterical. That is an image that will stick with me forever. Tee hee. I can picture the scene perfectly in my head and it still makes me laugh. I wish someone creative would draw or sketch that for you and share it with the rest of us ADMM’ers. That would be PRICELESS!! And the best bit is Albus teasing Minerva about having an exhibitionist streak in her and then their ensuing discussion on fantasies. I do hope we’ll get to see them acting out some of their fantasies…wink wink, nudge nudge!Awww, poor Albus lost his hat! How sad! But I have to agree with him. If something had to happen to the hat, at least it made a few seals happy and he can get another one. It died a valiant death…haha. The charmed amber earrings…that was a perfect touch. I think it’s so sweet that she wanted to look especially nice for him after their day outdoors and how she took special care to pack the jewelry box and the earrings. I’m sure he noticed them and it made him proud to see her wearing them on their holiday.I’ll admit it. I am a hopeless romantic at heart. The image of them dancing in the firelight to the music from the jewelry box and then Clair de Lune began to play had me melting with a silly smile on my face. I really wish they had more than just a few days at the cottage so they could have more moments like these before school starts again and they’re pulled in different directions. And a sequel to AAoL you say??? I am very much intrigued by this announcement. I loved AAoL and all the emotions I went through with that story and I’m really happy to hear that you’ve decided to continue it in another story. I’ll definitely be looking for that. Off to check your LJ for more info!! Toodles,GLM
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
I'm glad the chapter gave you a few laughs and a silly smile!I am certain that if you read more of RaM (when I start posting to that story again!) and any other future fics, you will see some . . . interesting ideas being acted upon! I know you've been enjoying RaM elsewhere, and I'm glad that you come to TPP for more stories set in the RaM universe. Thanks!I'm happy to hear you're looking forward to the sequel to An Act of Love -- it's different, and it's distinctly AU. And there may be some challenges there for you, as I know you had some trouble with some of AAoL, but I think -- and hope! -- you will still enjoy it. Thanks, as always, for the review!
Response from HogwartsDuo (Reviewer)
I was reading the reviews of others and something occured to me about the spell...I think, and I could be really wrong here, but maybe Albus learned the "staying" spell (for lack of a better term for it...tee hee) when he studied with Master Nyima in the East. I've read, in other fanfics of course, about the idea of a wizarding Kama Sutra and I really like that idea. I could be really wrong but just thought I'd mention it. I'm sure all will be revealed in good time but it's so much fun to speculate!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Speculation is so much fun, isn't it? Albus did learn a lot of unusual magic when he was traveling around that part of the world, that's for sure! We will, someday, learn more about all of it . . . once the seals aren't watching!
I loved this chapter - I can't believe the seals were watching them! And Albus saying that he would fantasise about Minerva during meetings - he really has overcome his inhibitions! And I loved how they danced at the end of the chapter - that was sooo romantic! Can't wait for the next update!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter! Nice little holiday, isn't it? (And he does like to tease Minerva!) Glad you liked the seals!
Lovely. I love the voyuer seals. Looking forward to more.Truly
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Glad you liked the seals!
Oh, what an adorable chapter! Bachelor Albus is reminded slightly of what it means to live w/ someone 24/7!!...and how determined Minerva can be once she sets her mind to something. The differences in their personalities really come out here--M's intense focus next to Albus's ability to be a bit more light-hearted at times. And the rock--how sweet. I do wonder how/if Albus will ever disclose the fullness of his and Gertrude's relationship. And if he and Gertrude will ever have a heart-to-heart about her rejection of him so long ago--I reread teh RaM chapter where he and Malcolm have lunch and it's so sad that he doesn't realize the depth of Gertrude's love for him.And that spell--yowsa! Here's my random off the wall question for *this* review: exactly how did Albus learn of the spell? I don't picture him engaging in locker-room talk w/ other wizards once he was past his youth, nor reading whatever the wizard's equivalent to "Cosmo" is....is there a magical edition of The Joy of Sex in his library somewhere? Of course I guess as a scholar there's lots of stuff he could have bumped into tangential to his researches on other topics... Or maybe Gertrude taught it to him? That would be a lemony one-shot to write, and would add even more depth to her character!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
No, it's nothing that Gertrude would have known. (I can hardly imagine how she would have, given what we know of her, her background, her relatively narrow interests, her young marriage . . .) It's a a spoiler to give any answer, really, but he learned it toward the *end* of his travels. Does that give you some clues? And it's a very old practice, even among Muggles, though Muggles have no spell for it! (Sadly . . . and, as Albus says, the spell is nicer!)Anyway, enough of the tangential stuff! I'm glad you liked the little differences in their personalities coming out here. They do have fun together, though, don't they?
Response from esoterica1693 (Reviewer)
They do have fun indeed! It doesn't seem like something Gertrude would have taught him, but Reg was more cosmopolitan due to his work, and Europe is a bit more free-thinking, so <g>. But yes, that's why I thought it would be very funny if it was her--b/c it would be so unexpected! I think I know who you're hinting at. Someone whose marriage has been a smidge longer than either Gertrude's or Albus's was.....
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Um, no . . . I don't even know who you're thinking of, but no. Just "wait and be patient," as I'm always saying to my cats when they think they should have been given their dinner ten minutes ago! LOL!
What a lovely holiday. Excellent work. Thank for the update.Truly
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Thank you! I am happy you have enjoyed it so far!
Wow, I missed this one. I have some catching up to do. Great start though.Truly
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Thanks, I'm glad you like it!
It was quite amusing how it took Minerva quite a while to fall asleep - and how even though Albus woke up especially early, Minerva did as well! I wonder if he will ever get the chance to serve Minerva breakfast in bed! And the "X" on the rock changing to "Albus + Minerva"... that was so adorable! And, of course, the lemon at the end was fabulous - Albus used the spell with Gertrude, I'm assuming? Is he ever going to tell Minerva about his relationship with Gertrude? Anyway, this was a fantastic chapter, as always, and I hope that we get another update soon!!!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Holiday with the Headmaster)
Poor Albus's timing wasn't very good, was it?I'm glad you enjoyed the lemon!Have I ever not updated when I've been able to? You can look forward to the next one coming soon! :D
