I am 26 years old, recently married. I absolutely adore the world of Harry Potter, and love fanfics. My favourite pairing is SS/HG.
My husband doesn't understand it, but he accepts it (grudgingly!)

I don't know if I should start reading this. It has not been updated since June. I hate to commit to unfinished fiction but this one has so much promise. I am intrigued. Please say you will continue!

I apologise from the bottom of my heart. My husband and I recently started a new business and I have been running around like a crazy person. I have so much reading and writing to catch up on, but i do promise I will finish this story.

Thrilled at this latest chapter. Worth the wait! Thanks a lot. Looking forward to more mysteries and some answers.

I really like this story - good characterisations plus the 'little'details such as the quill brushing backwards and forwards on her chin. Oh and the final line offering Snape tea is so incongruous, but so Hermione when you can think of all the other questions she must have. Brilliant!Looking forward to the next chapter.Cheers, Rita

Yip, I thought Hermione may just be at a loss for words for a change. I am glad you like this. I am diligently working on the next chapter. Hopefully it will be up soon.
Thank you for not having Ron and Hermione a couple (one of the more puzzling things JKR did). And I love that Hermione can also see Snape. This could work out quite interestingly if it's only the trio who can see him. I can see the day in the court and the ensuing thoughts by the Wizengamot that they had all gone mad.
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
Yip, they may think the trio had gone a bit barmy from all the camping and living on mushrooms!
Response from phoenix (Reviewer)
That is the perfect way to put it. LOL There's a part of me that's just envisioning that and ROTFLMAO
I don't know if this is wrong, but this chapter makes me laugh. LOL I Loved Snape's stream of consciousness as he realizes that Potter is the only one who can see him. But the part before that, with him talking to Lily was very moving and well done.
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
Yay. I am so glad it did. I wanted the beginnig to be about Snape and Lily, and the rest to be about the humorous sitiation he finds himself in when he can only be seen by Potter!
Oooh, that is a very ominous start. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. A ghost, but not quite a ghost. Very interesting that there would be a transition period or something. Well done.
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
Thank you. What has happened to Severus will be explained later on.
Poor Severus, he's dead (or is he?) and the one person he can turn to is Potter - the only person he can turn to!! and Hermione Granger!! To have to be so desperate that he has to rely on the two students who get his craw every time! He must really be needing help to agree to this! Poor Sev!
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
Thats exactly it. He has to ask the two people he would rather never see again, all because Harry seems to be the only one who can see him.
So, all three can, but no one else? Weird, but neat. I can't wait for the explaination!
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
Thanks. The explaination will come soon.
I loved Hermione's reaction when she saw Severus :D
This is getting more and more intriguing - I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next!
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
Thank you. I felt that she needed to fall back on politeness in order to cope with a strange situation. I am glad you are enjoying it.
The chapters are very well-written. The essence of the characters, especially Snape, are accurately captured. The dialog rings true. Please keep the story going; I'm looking foward to reading it. Thanks!
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
Thank you so much! I am so glad you are enjoying this! The next chapter should be coming soon.
Good chapter - It was good when the way you described Ron looking when he saw Severus and Hermione did not know it yet. The description was priceless. Good job.

I love Ron and the canary cream! and how self-possessed of Hermione, how sensible to fall back on good manners (that's what manners are there for, to fall back on when we are in need of logical thought.)Delightful!
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
Thank you. The canary cream was my favourite part to write. I can only imagine Hermione falling back on good manners when she is completely flabbagasted in a situation!

Oh NO it is worse than Snape thought all the golden trio can see him. giggle snort! I look forward to the next chatper!
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
Yip. poor Snape. I'm sure all he wants in his (after) life is to only be able to converse with the trio!
A black lily how poinant. Now why is harry the only one who can see him? What sorts of torture do you have dreamed up for my belvoed Snape? Hummm>
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
Poor little Snape. All will be explained (eventually) as to why no one else can see him.
Well this is a fine start! He is not a ghost but a phantom. I have no idea what the properties of phantoms are, this is going to be a fun ride! Woot!
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
Thank you. It will be explained later what exactly happened to him.
LOL for Hermione's reaction. She still doesn't know Severus isn't exactly alive, but it's funny all the same.
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
I wanted to make Hermione a little gobsmacked when she saw the man who was supposed to be dead. Thank you for reviewing.
Perhaps only those that believe he was good can see him?
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
The reason why only Harry is able to see Snape will be answered in later chapters. Thank you for reviewing!
I like the beginning of this. I wonder who it was that took his body and whether that was the reason he suddenly disappeared. It didn't look like he did so voluntarily. Perhaps he can only be so far away from the corpse at any given time? Like he's somehow chained to it.
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
Hopefully all your questions will be answered in futeure chapters. I will be adressing how he disappeared soon. Thank you for taking the time to review!
Very interesting beginning. I personally deplore the work 'snuck' that you used towards the end of the chapter, but the new dictionary informs me that it is now aceptable. ARGGGGHHHH! (I remember very clearly my sixth-grade teacher telling us, "'Snuck' is not a word, it is 'sneaked.'")
Other than 'snuck,' I like this very much and did not 'mark off' any for that one slip, which i suppose I am not allowed now to call a slip. Lookiing forward to more chapters and the answers to some of my questions.
Response from Shadow (Author of Of Ghosts and Men)
I do apologise for the use of a depolrable word. I am glad though that you enjoyed the rest of the chapter. I hope future ones will answer all your questions. Thank you for reviewing.
Intriguing beginning. I am looking forward to more!

Liked the first chapter - cannot wait to see how you weave in that Hermione is the only one to see him. Also his existence - why in this form. I am so looking forward to more chapters on this one
