There's an underlying promise of doom and great sadness in this very beautiful story - it's a most interesting and, thankfully, not fluffy approach of the post-war trauma topic. Very authentic, thank you for this story!

This is wonderful!  I agree that Hermione is a fighter.

I find it interesting that you mention how hope was included with the evils.  My husband says it is the greatest evil of the lot.

I think I prefer this ending over an ending where they die. This way you have left the reader to imagine whether Hermione was successful, how their lives went on or if hope had finally fled.

Though I would love to see Dumbledore's reaction. I've disliked him since the second book and I am glad that people don't think he is perfect.

Its "trace" not "race" FYI--  ust wanted to let you know.  Wouldn't it be fun to have a potion there in his stores that would return him to himself?  Nicely done.

I have to say, i like the whole story.  In the end you have Hope.  After all Hope is still in Pandora's Box.
