People are supposed to find romance on the streets of Paris, right? Well, what happens when Hermione gets a little more than she bargained for under those French stars?

known as Coco; also bella, gildedglamour on LJ, etc.
i'm a great many things, including:
indian & burmese
a proud harpy
a little crazy
creative and lovable... most of the time!
always vanishing at inappropriate times thanks to that dreaded 'RL'
really bad at updating regularly
apparently 'elegant', probably really not.
i like writing, slytherin men, writing about slytherin men... oh and reviews too.
:]
REGARDING ALL THAT'S LEFT
In case you were wondering why it vanished off the face of the earth, not to worry. It's undergoing a significant bit of revision, but it'll be back eventually. It'll probably be under a different name, too, but the premise will largely be the same. Thanks to everyone who supported me through it; I just wanted to make a few changes but it'll be back, I promise.

This is a very interesting story so far. I'm really enjoying it and look forward to more. I can't wait to see where you take this.

Love, Love, Loved this! Precisely how I would imagine Hermione's thoughts really are. Fantastic work! And I burst out laughing at the mention of von Trapp's voice breaking slightly. So very true, and now that I'm not an enchanted little girl, so very funny!
Response from bellarossi (Author of Paris When it Sizzles)
Thanks! That's great to hear. I just hope it will stay that way.
Pshh, I definitely cried, and I'm not a crying-at-the-movies person, so there you go. :)

You've got me hook. line, and sinker. I'm biting nails until your next update.

Hahaha! That's fantastic to know. I'll hopefully be uploading the third chapter sometime this next week or so, and I promise I won't leave you hanging! :) Thanks for reviewing.

So far so good. I'm just sad that she is leaving France? And to my opinion there are far better place than Rouen in France. Some are more rainy if that's you need (in particular the place I'm living) but I'm beginning to be chauvistinic so I stop here. Sorry.
Response from bellarossi (Author of Paris When it Sizzles)
Hahaha! Well, to be honest I made up the rainy thing. I just thought it would be nice to give Hermione that little quirk, especially because it will come in later in the story. She'll be back soon, don't worry!

I'm absolutely delighted by this story - sent here by SW69, bless her, who always pimps the Good Tales. And having just come back from France, I love your setting too.
Funny and quick Hermione voice - excellent choice.
(Wouldn't it be 'et Cie'?)
Can't wait to read more.

Thanks! I'm hoping to go to France soon, but unfortunately till then all of this is from what I've heard and also from what my friends (surprisingly many of whom are French) tell me. I hope it does that amazing country justice.

Interesting, the idea that the portrait-Snape will be a character in this story.
Response from bellarossi (Author of Paris When it Sizzles)
I think you'll find he has a far more important role than you realise. ;) But I shan't say anymore.

Oh, there's more. The first time I read this, I thought it ended in an odd place for a one-shot, but now I see it isn't over at all. *goes to read next chapter*
Response from bellarossi (Author of Paris When it Sizzles)
Hahaha, yeah, I suppose it would have been a weird place to end! Nope, much more to come, though I'm hoping to end this in about 10 chapters (but we'll see!).

i like how you have a kind of moody hermione, with the rain and all. and now that we have snarky portrait snape i expect things to get very interesting.
Response from bellarossi (Author of Paris When it Sizzles)
They most certainly shall get interesting. (Once I write it, that is.) :)

Neville... hilarious! Great job with him. I do love to see a good strong Neville - he's woefully underemployed, in my opinion. Great chapter, beautifully crafted.
Response from bellarossi (Author of Paris When it Sizzles)
Totally agreed. I think Neville is such an understated cgaracter, especially because he's got so much going for him. He's so sweet. I bet he'd be a great friend to have. :)

I love the story - the potion gathering, the portraits - it is starting a very interesting story with great detail that make you feel your with Hermione on her adventures.

Some amazing lines in here!
I don’t know if bitterness alone can kill a man, but it sounds entirely possible. So touching!
Cue sudden end of storm as rays of sunshine peek through the clouds. Thankfully, that didn’t happen. Yes, very thankfully, otherwise I'd be groaning at the cliche pathetic fallacy! Good job criticising that one!
Also totally a whiskey fan! (Try the Macallan or Dalwhinnie some time!). And very much liking the first-person, too. That's hard to do!
Author's Response:
Thanks! Those are my favourite lines too, actually. :)
Macallan is brilliant, my brother bought a twenty-year old bottle for me and I was like in heaven, haha. And Laphroaig and Glenmorangie... mmm. Now I really want some whisky, hahaha!

I really like the sense of humour in here, although some bits are a little too lengthy for my tastes. This is all very Parisian, though!
Author's Response: That's awesome! Because that's exactly what I wanted to do: make people laugh. I agree, this chapter was very long (especially for me) but I think it was necessary as an opener. Anyway, thanks for the review!
oh this is fun...now we're getting to the good parts. no, no, they're all good. maybe i should have said the gooder parts. thanks so much and i'm looking forward to more.

Hahahaha I loved it! It took a while to click and then I couldn't stop laughing for about a minute ahahaha. Yes, things will get interesting now, and very very snarky, too. ;)

Love the Edelweiss scene, and the Fluxweed scene. Great job!

"Hello, Doctor, I seem to have come down with a rather bad case of Ermykneegronjair. Yes, I know, I can’t bear to look at my knee either, but we’ll do our best. One Arrypottair tablet three times a day? Excellent, thank you for your help."
*snickers*
Oi... that is a CLASSIC line.

Hahahaha I'm glad you think so. It was pretty funny. *preens* ;)

It may be a transition chapter, but it contains lots of information, and raises severals question as well. Very thought-provoking.

i like this very much. i particularly enjoy the wit and humor you've infused into it. you're doing a nice job of writing from hermione's pov - it seems very true to her character.i look forward to reading more!

Thanks! That's probably the best compliment, in my opinion; that you think Hermione is in character. That's the most difficult thing about fanfiction.
Thanks for the lovely review. :)

This is interesting and I hope for more soon. There's one tiny little thing that probably has no consequences for the most part of the readers : some of your translations aren't exactly right. Actually just one. "Vache folle" is literally mad cow but in french we would best say "quelle folle" because I've searched a long time but there's no expression for stupid madness with the term cow in it. Then you use bastard in its exact translation which can't work here cause we only used it to mean "born out of marriage". The meaning here is more like git I guess, so the right word should be "conard". It appears the french language has less term in that meaning than the english one. So the correct phrasing would be " Comment quelqu'un peut accepter ce conard, je n'en ai vraiment aucune idee".I hope I didn't hurt you with this review and that I didn't make too many mistakes trying to explain things. If you need help for future translations I'll gladly help. Feel free to ask.
Response from bellarossi (Author of Paris When it Sizzles)
No no! Not at all, I'm glad you told me. I'll make those changes now. I don't know too much colloquial French unfortunately (though I'm learning) so help anywhere is always appreciated. I can't unfortunately email it directly to you now for anonymity, but if you could leave a note when something's wrong that would be fantastic.
Thank you very much! And I hope despite that that you are enjoying the story, haha. (Maybe I should write these reviews in French just to maintain the skill. ;])

Oh please please please update! I keep coming back to this story and I can't wait for a new chapter to come up.
Response from bellarossi (Author of Paris When it Sizzles)
Ahh I'm sorry I've been so useless with updates! I'm planning to finish Dangerous Liaisons first as that's closer(ish) to the end, and then I PROMISE I will start updating Paris regularly again. Thank you for reminding me though! It's nice to know people still care even now.
