I almost stopped reading after the first line.  I just got an image in my head of Dumbledore having sex. EW!!  But I kept reading anyway because he wouldn't talk about himself in third person like that :-DI'm weird, I know.  But good story.  Very romantic....

While I tend to disapprove of filking Christmas music (especially church music) in general, I am reminding myself that filking is an offshoot of a very old tradition of setting new words to old familiar tunes--the church is equally "guilty" in that matter.

And so I have to say this is brilliant.  Well done, o Keeper! (I'd say "Write more, knit less," but that would be a sacrilege, so maybe...write more, sleep less.  Work less.  Something besides knitting.)

Response from vargo (Author of Away with a Granger)

"setting new words to old familiar tunes" - indeed. There is in fact a filk-song to that effect!

J.S. Bach is a filkerHe did not write this tune.The composer was HasslerWho's turning in his tomb.Charles Wesley stole fine folk songsAnd Booth remarked uponHow Satan had all the best tunes ...They're not the only ones!

Glad you enjoyed it anyway - and I'd write more if inspirationever hit more often!

And now I won't be able to listen to that carol anymore without getting the kids asking why I'm sniggering

*snerk*

I'll just tell them it was something to do with you, and they'll get that knowing-yet-pitying look in their eyes

Response from vargo (Author of Away with a Granger)

It's still All Your Fault, you know. So you have only yourself to blame.

Response from DawnEB (Reviewer)

I deny that - I neither introduced you to filk nor fanfic, merely the HP fandom.  Your vices were already well established loooooooooong before I ever met you
