Albus is a Gryffindor without question. He has no tact in blurting out his attempt at blackmail and starts crying when caught, no wonder that Severus was upset. At least Severus has a few more years to instill some Slytherin in him.....

Yet the mere idea of blackmail is is quite Slytherin. I'd say he's still learning subtlety. I suppose any young child lacks subtlety, even Slytherin ones.
