Reviews for Down and Out in Bognor Regis
Just dropping by to say that I found this here on TPP and, of course, re-read it. This fic still gives me great pleasure to read (you can take that any way you like!). ;-) It's a delight, from the literary allusions to Snape's attitude to the locale and the eventual discovery that they have a marriage of more than mere convenience. Thank you again, for a lovely exchange gift, and well-wishes to you and yours for a healthy, happy 2013.
I Love this! It's so funny and sexy, yet sweet too! And your depiction of a Bognor Regis holiday is spot on!
Nicely done. Very delicious.
Absolutely lovely - love the dialogue! But that was rather quick, wasn't it? I mean, no fondling, at least?
Really enjoyed this but the site keeps eating all my long comments and turning them into gibberish. Thanks for the nostalgia trip. Do think you should have stuck Snape in a chalet though, just cos he'd have hated it!
Sweet Jesus, Severus at Butlins! That is so twisted, I love it! At least you didn't put him in a chalet! I swear, half the redcoats are only there to pull jail bait. I have made a solemn oath to never inflict the horrors of holiday camps on my own progeny. A B&B in Whitby or Douglas or somewhere like that is far preferable. Just stay away from the cliff top guest houses in Whitby if you've got small kids, the climb up the steps from the prom might just kill them!
So yeah, I was reviewing this before I started the thesis on holiday destinations. Good story, I chortled heartily many times. You have nicely captured the doldrums of holdiay camps and I approve of both Sev's and Hermione's methods of dealing with the place. Two of my favourite hobbies, which I sadly indulge less and less these days.
Chug, toke and be merry, my friend, this little story earns you that much. And a five star rating.
This story still delights me. Absolutely charming, and "He is won." is utterly precious and perfect in one. Thank you so much, again, for this lovely fic.
