This is a charming tlae. and you touched on the truth of the matter, had the Bones girl told anyone else what she'd seen, the resulting firestorm of outrage would have cost Snape his job, innocent or not.

Humiliation, or expulsion and cost someone their position of employment while making them an immediate target for an insane megalomaniac. What a choice. This was an intriguing read. Thank you for sharing.

I'm glad you liked it also when re-reading. Trial and Trepidation started out as a sequel to this but became free-standing. It can still be read as a sequel though.
Your writing was exquisite. I really would love if you wrote a Post-War-Howarts continuation. I'm certain that under that noble exterior there is a passion that is aching to come out (on both their parts). Thanks for writing this and posting I'm still too afraid to post anything of my own.
