Companion piece to "Traitor." If you sell your soul for freedom, what would you willingly give for redemption?

Right. I would like to state, for the record, that I WILL finish "She Married Her Choice". I will. Assuming I am in control of my own destiny and accomplishments, that is. ;-)
Unfortunately, real life (mainly an attention craving three-year-old) and inspiration have been keeping me from creative endeavors for a while now. I do foresee a time when that shall pass, but until then, I ask for your patience.
Thank you!

Oh thank you so much. Wonderful... I actually came really close to crying.

Thanks!
Thank you for giving us closure.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Closure)
You're welcome. THank you!
Interesting use of RW as the framing device. But the heart of my praise has to go to the interaction between HG and SS. It was a very satisfying resolution that didn't veer into the unreal territory of: 'now she loves SS forever and he'll be released/escape and they'll run away together, etc, etc, cliche.'
Response from averygoodun (Author of Closure)
Heh. If I had written that ending, I would have made sure to have written it as the tragedy it would be, not as a romantic cliche. But I don't like writing tragedies, certainly not such hopeless ones.
Thank you!
Snape had to die-there was no way around that to keep with your story line. This was a moving one shot to be sure. Thank you
Response from averygoodun (Author of Closure)
Yes, he did have to die. Thank you!
Wow. I'm just kind of overcome with sadness now. My heart just broke for him when he stumbled over this line... <<“I would never... I couldn't... I shouldn't have touched you in the first place. I shouldn't have watched you with Peter that day. I shouldn't have... I couldn't think of another way to turn you against me.”>>I can't help but feel that he was trying to stifle an admission of his feelings for her. It was beautifully well done. Again I was awash with sadness when she revealed that she'd gotten pregnant...so sad. This whole piece was really just terribly poignant. It was the perfect ending to a very well written story. Seriously...my heart is just aching right now, and my eyes are full of tears that I'm trying to fight back. What a wonderful author you are. Must now go and find something completely fluffy...perhaps something where Severus raises bunnies. :-)
Response from averygoodun (Author of Closure)
He knew it would be counterproductive to tell her how much he loved her, but that doesn't mean he hadn't admitted it to himself.
Thank you for telling me how it affected you. It is always gratifying to hear that I've done a job well.
I hope you found the much needed fluff!
Brutally effective, but not brutal. Thanks.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Closure)
Thank you!
I loved "Traitor", of course, but will admit I really doubted whether it was possible to write a convincing sequel of closure. So it's nice to be wrong. And you pulled it off without having either Snape or Granger morph suddenly into kinder, gentler creatures.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Closure)
Kinder, gentler Snape or Granger don't fit into that storyline. They just don't.
I'm glad you liked this, although, really, I wrote it as much for myself as anyone. I found that "Traitor" wouldn't leave me alone until I got this bit out. Hence the title. ;-)
Thank you!
Very interesting. Good ending to Traitor. While I always like a happy ending (Hermione and Severus ending up together), it would not have been the proper conclusion based on the facts as you've laid them out, though Ron commenting that Snape was 'kissed' sent a chill through me. Very interesting and well written.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Closure)
Snape and Hermione ending up together in this story would have been a tragedy. Their relationship dynamics would have been so very, very messed up, and even though they did love each other, that's not something that can change easily, and in their case, perhaps at all.
Thank you for your thoughts!
Heartrending, but so beautifully done. You've rendered me inarticulate.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Closure)
Thank you! You've no idea how much that means to me.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Closure)
Thank you! I doubt you'll know how much that means to me.
Response from Bambu (Reviewer)
My dear, you're most welcome. It's truly a lovely piece.
Oh, wow. Just, wow. Traitor was so intricate and this just fits it so well.
Bravo.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Closure)
Thank you!
Oh, wow. I don't think this quite stands alone, but since I read Traitor, it was really powerful for me.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Closure)
Yeah, the story is so ingrained upon my mind that I can't see it objectively to whether it can stand alone.
Thank you!
When Snape called her dear heart it brought tears to my eyes.
Bravo! Well done.
Response from averygoodun (Author of Closure)
Thank you!
Loved it. You tell a good tale and I like stories to have moral logic. Thank you
Response from averygoodun (Author of Closure)
Thank you. I do too.
Oh so sad, unrequited love in a way i guess. Could see Snape being brave to the end though.
So sad!
That is one of the saddest things I have ever read, good, but sad. I even teared up. It pains me that it would end that way between Hermione and Snape, that there would still be dementors at Azkaban, that they would still allow the kiss, that they would have sentenced Snape to that fate ... Ah well, such are the ways of dark stories. I enjoyed both stories very much, thank you for sharing you talent.
