I've always suspected that Gilderoy put his memory altering spells to darker uses, and being the vain person he is, it wouldn't surprise me if he let nothing get in his way. After all, he was willing to let Ginny die for his own reputation. I wanted to leave this open ended, but I suspect something happened...Maybe I'll write a sequel!;)
Adorable and witty – I can just imagine the surprise/snarl on Snape’s face when, or if he finds out.
