Reviews for A Most Important Element in Water
Good chapter - the secret room at Malfoy manor was great. I loved how you made Hermione the dominate fighter in this scene and how she took down Beatrix - I was interesting

It was great chapter - from Faulkes healing stan to Ginny conspiring with Krum to fake a relationship so she could see Harry. The return to Hogwarts was good and the Sybil prophesy was fascinating - I cannot wait to see where you take the story

The letter sequence was good and falls in line with what we know of the story. I loved listening to Bill discuss curse breaking with the golden trio. Good chapter.

Thank you! I was lucky that my own Snape-backstory doesn't differ too much from the canon version.

Oh wow what an interesting scene with Hermione and Mrs. Dursley - It was fantastic - I loved how you tie in things in the book and add to it - great job

Thank you very much (I know that you finished the chapters, but I reply as I go here). The earlier chapters, and all the plotting, were done before DH was published. I had written my own Snape backstory, which of course differs from the canon version. In this story I stick to my version.

Powerful 1st chapter - I loved the way you wrote this and this could have easily been what happened but that was not wrote about in the books. Cannot wait to see were the story goes.

That's so great! I love the way you describe how the underground movement works, and their motives and strategies. Great chapter!
Response from sylvanawood (Author of A Most Important Element in Water)
Thank you very much! I am glad you like it.
I am also being drawn in to the story! The underground group is so neat to read about. I can almost see it in my imagination. I love that Draco and his mother are acting so snobby. I wonder if they'll be taken down a notch or two while guests in the cave. I look forward to the next chapter!
Response from sylvanawood (Author of A Most Important Element in Water)
Thank you, I am very glad you enjoy it. You'll see more of Draco et al. I hope you won't be disappointed. The next chapter is in the queue.
Oh wow! I am thrilled that Severus told Hermione that he could trust her completely. What would be perfect is seeing the Malfoys do the work of elves. Well Done!

Another great chapter! I keep getting drawn into this story and I love it! I can't wait for the next chapter.

This was a really great chapter and I am dying for more. I hope more is coming real soon.

Thank you, my lone reviewer. The next chapter will come after the holidays. :)
Dear Sylvana; I guess you could say I am a fan of yours. Can fan fic writers have fans? Hmmm….Well anyway, after coming across AMIEIW, I looked at the author name and realized you were one of the authors I browse to see what they are up to. I have you as a favorite author now. I also have some of your stories I plan to read at a later date in my story favorites as well. In the “Expecto Patronum” chapter, I thought the scene where Snape comes upon them in the forest with the tiara was very surprising and very good. It was action packed and I really liked it. I have one small criticism of the remainder of this chapter though. I feel the trio would have been much more concerned, scared and upset by the appearance of Snape. Since you have set up your “Harry” to be very venomous towards Snape in this story, I feel a strong reaction from them should have appeared in the rest of the chapter. It didn’t sit well with me that they essentially ignored it and went on with the tiara. I feel both could have happened and added more drama. I think there could have been some kind of discussion amongst the trio about what they should do about the Snape appearance and that discussion would have had a sense of anger, fear and urgency. The rest of the chapter just felt a little too passive about the Snape appearance and brought the drama, pacng and tone of the chapter down a bit.I am looking forward to reading what you have in store for us.Cheers, Kat

Thank you for taking the time and writing such a thoughtful review, Kat. You're right, I could have developed this a bit better. But they did realize that Snape wasn't really planning to hurt them, then and there, so maybe I can be forgiven? And there were other things to distract them. :)
i really like how this story is taking its time. i started reading it last night, and read the whole thing, and your really setting it up i think. i mean in most fics, nine chapers in they would be on their way to love, but i love the build up.i really cant wait untill there is more snape interraction!so well done!

Thank you very much! :)
I'm probably overreading things, but I just can't shake the feel that Price really is Snape...LOL! I know, I've always suffered from an overactive imagination. But the missing map...Well, I'll just have to wait and see. Great chapter! I love the way you've used The Art of War.
Response from sylvanawood (Author of A Most Important Element in Water)
Thank you very much! And I am very glad that my story gets your imagination going. There'll be more soon.
Hi Sylvana! I finally arrived at the end of your story, I mean the end of your posted chapters. I'm sorry it took me so much time, but unfortunately life and work are giving me a lot of troubles these last months. However, I'm very happy I had the chance to read your story. As always, it's beautiful, very well written and extremely engaging. I have loved this chapter in particular, also because Severus is back... and you portray him so well! Waiting for your next update, best regards from Rome!
Response from sylvanawood (Author of A Most Important Element in Water)
Thank you! The next chapter's in the queue, and more will come soon. :) It's good to hear from you again.
I've gone and read ahead like that Granger swot and now I'm sitting at the end of that which is up elsewhere, wanting to know what's going to happen from there!
I know you're going to fine tune it and change a few things, but overall, really, I don't think it needs much done to it. But, you know, what is right and what is easy {!!} and from there on... I shan't speak of it here, no spoilers! Not me.
Response from sylvanawood (Author of A Most Important Element in Water)
Heh. Granger swot, I like this. I have a few more chapters, and will post ahead a bit on my journal, but I don't feel comfortable with it before it's thoroughly beta-read. I only posted so far ahead, because I thought that these things had to go 'out there' before DH, and I'm glad I did, it keeps me writing. :)
I'll definitely continue reading this; the story is coming along nicely. One thing that jarred was that Hermione calls Trelawney an "old fraud" twice in the span of what would be less than five minutes. Otherwise, very enjoyable.
Response from sylvanawood (Author of A Most Important Element in Water)
Thank you very much! The double 'fraud' escaped me and my beta readers, sorry about that, we try to watch out for these things.
I'm glad you enjoyed the story otherwise.

This is really good I must say...I have that same teory about Lily and Snape, with the diference that I belive that Snape still remains in love by Lily and in my opinion he will never have someting with Hermione. However it´s...how can I say? It´s a funny ideia, Severus and Hermione. Keep doing this is really good.
Author's Response:
Thank you very much!
It's very likely that Snape was in love with Lily, and maybe still is. Canon will never see Hermione and Severus. That's why writing them in fanfic is so much fun!
Please tell me you didn't abandon this story. I've made you my favorite author based on this work, i like it very much, hope to see more soon!
Response from sylvanawood (Author of A Most Important Element in Water)
No-no! I haven't abandoned it. I was a bit delayed because I'm taking part in the SS/HG exchange, and that story took more of my time than I thought. I have several more chapters being beta-read at the moment, and am writing more. Thank you for the kind review and making me one of your favourites! :)
Good to hear Petunia's side of things, and good slant on Lilly and Snapes's friendship, still loving it!
Response from sylvanawood (Author of A Most Important Element in Water)
I'm glad you're still liking it. I hope future chapters won't disappoint you. :)
I think this is going to be a really good fic, a great first chapter, it's really well written, leaving you not sure which side Snape is on yet, which makes it even more fun!Well done, keep up the good work!
Response from sylvanawood (Author of A Most Important Element in Water)
Thank you very much, I'm glad you like the beginning.
More revelations about Snape! I wonder with how many new impressions about him Harry and his friends will have to cope. I'm thrilled to read that there will be about 30 chapters.
Response from sylvanawood (Author of A Most Important Element in Water)
Thank you! I will be horribly canon shafted, but I don't care. There will be new relevations in every chapter. And eventually the real thing will show up again, too. ;)
I absolutely love reading fanfiction! Other people's views, ideas and concepts of what might be are always fascinating. I've never once considered the idea that Lily might have had her school trunk with items packed in it. Why not letters from Severus! Though I would think it much more likely that she might have left it with her parents rather than Dumbledore.
I hope you don't allow the 'Curse' of the Deathly Hallows stop you from finishing your story.
Response from sylvanawood (Author of A Most Important Element in Water)
Thank you, again. :)
Lily and Petunia's parents would have been dead already by the time Lily died. Why else should Harry have to go to his unwilling aunt, and not his loving grandparents?
Deathly Hallows won't stop me. It may slow me down a bit, but this story's outline is finished, the first ten chapters (of approx. 30) are written, and by the time DH is here, I'll hopefully have posted more than half of it.
Having originally 'read' this chapter at OWL, I find in reading it again that I only skimmed the first part of this chapter before.
The part where Petunia is telling HG about 'the awful boy' caught my eye. When I read that bit in OotP I did the same thing... Oh, James. But on thinking about it figured it to be Snape, too. If for no other reason, Petunia always referred to James by his name. It's always been one of the things I wished JKR would explain.Response from sylvanawood (Author of A Most Important Element in Water)
I think that scene is a typical example for Harry's jumping to conclusions. He's not stupid, but doesn't think thing through.
I think JKR said in an interview that more things about Petunia will be revealed in book seven. I hope the awful boy will be explained then.
Thank you for the lovely reveiw. :)
Ooooo, the tiaraaaaa! Could it be a Horcrux? Bill didn't do a thorough 'check-up' did he? Hmm...Eager to see the next chapter! Cheers!
