I am a longtime fanfic fanatic, having entered the realm via Buffydom. One day I read a Willow/Severus crossover and I was hooked – on Snape that is! He's been in every HP story I've done so far.
I write in multiple fandoms on LJ, esp. BtVS and Firefly. If you're interested in reading my fic for other/crossover fandoms, it can be found at:

Please write smut - it's like chocolate - I can never get enough. ;D::claps::

Thanks! I'm so very glad you enjoyed the chapter!
Oh, you wicked WICKED creature to leave us with such an evil cliffie! There had better be some mighty fine lemon in exchange at the end (from the sound of it, there will be -- and then some, perhaps!) Little does Hermione know that this is the moment that Severus has been working towards for quite a long time now -- and not only is the fish on the hook, she's more or less jumped right into his boat all by herself!
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm really glad you enjoyed the chapter and the fact that things seem to be about to heat up!
Hermione is such a math person. Sample, evaluate, reevalute, quantify, analyze, and finally make a decision. I'm looking forward to more.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the chapter and the way this HG approaches things!
Yumm..... what a little miss demanding thing she has turned out to be... wonder when he'll again hold some of the cards.
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm glad you liked the chapter! She's finally figured out what she wants! What he thinks next!
Oooooo...do they finally DO IT in the next chapter? You've teased us along most of this story, do we finally get satisfaction?
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm really glad you enjoyed the chapter! The next chapter will be SS's take on this scene.
*Cheers!!!!!!* WAHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm so glad you liked the chapter so much!
*hands over big ol' bag of chocolate* I can't wait for the next chapter.....

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter! (nibbles choco!)
WOW!!! I'm already seeing stars and I'm not even there. Thank you for such a marvelous fic.
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm so glad you like the chapter and the story so far!
Oh, I can't help it. There's no use holding it back.
Squee!
In case you couldn't tell... I loved this chapter! :D It's amusing how aroused Hermione gets just from brushing Severus' thigh. Shall we be expecting the same scene from his point of view? Because I can imagine that he was just as (if not more) aroused, haha.
I'm so glad they've finally come to the realization of the obvious. It was very sweet. And I loved the last line that Hermione manages to gasp out.
Fantastic chapter. Can't wait for the next update :)
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed the chapter so much! Yes, the next chapter is Severus's POV of this scene - just what was he thinking?
I love her running assessment of his emotions and reactions. I love that he's realized he needs her to be sure. And that kiss! ::swoons::
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm so glad you liked the chapter and the way she was trying to read him! And th kiss as well!
Through most of the chapter I just could not help but imagine the slow torture Severus was in. Lovely banner for this chapter too!
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm really glad you liked the chapter! What SS was thinking next!
I mised you g/f. Did your plot bunny take a vacation, or did real life step in? As usual an excellent chapter. Can't wait till these two get it together!
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm really glad you liked the chapter! No - I took time off to write Back in Black, but I'm climbing now!
Response from sinbad (Reviewer)
Back in Black is a great story too!
Oh thank God! She finally made a decision! Yay!
I'm glad he was still willing to be more though. It'd be just the luck for him to decide it wasn't worth it. Great job!
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm so glad you liked the chapter and HG's decision!
I really like this story so far, looking forward to the conversation between Severus and Hermione. I hope she makes up her mind really soon. Can't wait to read more.
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm so glad you're liking the sotry so far! The conversation is going up now!
I like this chapter for the emotional depth it gives Snape. His sensitive exchange with Tonks illustrates nicely that he is not only a good match for Hermione physically and intellectually, but that he can meet her future emotional needs too - truly a perfect match!
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm really glad you enjoyed the chapter and teh emotional growth it shows for SS! I agree - it bodes well for future relationships.
Great story so far, I am looking forward to reading more.
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm very glad you liked the chapter and the story so far! This one's quite different from Back in Black (and there's no pink!).
Well the NEXT chapter should be very interesting then!! Gosh it feels like I've been waiting a long time.
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed the chapter! Yes - it's been a week and a half!
Oh! This is sooooooo sad!! [Not Ron] I'm thoroughly distressed now. Poor Sev. But this is good for both of them.
The concept of the portraits is fascinating. If Dilys and Phineas are any indication of the depth of humanity instilled within the portraits, having Albus still available should be reassuring to everyone.
So, now I would think that the next move has to be Hermione's? She's the one who stoppered the romance.
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm really glad you liked the chapter! I agree - SS needed to get through this. As for what's next - more soon!
To me this chapter is really advancing the idea of the characters growing and evolving in the light of what they went through during the war. Somehow the new decor in the Headmistress' office seemed to sum it all up -- the world is moving on and the characters have to move on, too. Which made Severus' encounter with Dumbledore's portrait that much more effective -- great writing, as always!
P.S. And it was priceless when Snape had to intone Minerva's password :)
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm so very glad you enjoyed the chapter! You're right! (laughs) You just reminded me of the summary I wrote for this story months ago! Thanks for pointing out that I'd made the setting of MM's office symbolic - I hadn't fully realized it!
(grins) Yay to the password!
Ah, so sad... I like the way you have Hermione give the ring back. Personally, I would have given it to him when I broke the news, but she knows how much pride Ron has; he can only handle one disappointment at a time. This way he can get something happy out of it at least.
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm glad you liked the chapter and the HG/GW interaction!
Wow. I ... wow. The scene with Severus and Albus' portait is powerfully done. This is one of those kinds of scenes that can easily turn into the melodramatic rather than the dramatic. Kudos to you, my dear, for writing a powerful, moving scene. Fabulous.
Hermione's conversation with Ginny - so realistic. It can be tempting to gloss over the long-lasting consequences of a character's actions, but you held true and gave us a very real look at what might happen in such a circumstance. Perfection.
You continue to impress, m'dear. As always, I look forward to the next chapter.
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm really glad you liked the chapter and the HG/GW conversation! It's also good to hear that the SS scene works for you - I think he's supressed his emotions for so long that they'll hit him in the gut quite literally.
I'm being sappy today ~ so, with that in mind ~ I almost cried at Sev's anguish from seeing Dumbledore for the first time.Well played
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm really glad you liked the chapter and the emotions involved in SS's dilema.
This is always the first story I check when I get on this site...I love this tale, and eagerly await the next chapter!
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm really glad you're enjoying the story! More as soon as I have it back!
You've got my heart breaking for both of them. It's particularly hard writing Severus coming to terms with his grief over Albus, and I think you've done an incredible job with it.
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm so very glad you enjoyed the chapter and that the emotions came through for you in a believable fashion!
O, Author! You brought me to tears! Severus, struck to his knees in the presence of Portrait!Dumbledore. I actually have real tears on my cheeks. I do believe, with all my heart, that Severus loved the headmaster and that he deeply grieves his part in his death. Lovely.
Response from ubiquirk (Author of Ladder)
Thanks! I'm very glad you liked the chapter! It's good to hear that the emotions of the scene came through for you (though I didnt' mean to make people cry)! I've characterized my SS along the lines of what you say - that AD was the best friend of his entire life.
