Honestly? I had to persuade myself to continue reading. The story started so appaling and disgusting that reading it required a lot of my inner strength. But it was selected as a Featured story, so there must be more to it than meets the eye. And I read on...The catharsis of the final scene was then exhilarating after the torture of your very vivid image of Voldemort's reign. Thank you for the wonderful, imaginative use of Mirror of Erised in this story.

I really enjoyed this--immensely. I never expected that twist--that all that we saw before was an illusion conjured up by the Mirror of Erised--and I loved the denoument with Snape and Harry that somehow squared the circle between Voldmort dying at Harry's hands and his power being love.

Your story seemed so dark in the beginning that I wondered if you were going to go into scenes of graphic torture. The change to the Mirror of Erised was a brilliant plot twist. Now I understand that Harry wasn't really stuffed and made into a footstool--it was part of Mouldysnort's desire. I also like how Snape explained that the power of a strong emotion like love could enable Harry to do the right thing and cast the Unforgivable....

Thanks for writing such a "different" story. I really enjoyed it.

I'd be worried if people weren't upset by the first part, especially in the casual attitude displayed towards violent and degrading acts. I was hoping the second part balanced it, with such an ultimately good action being so hard to do. Thanks for reading and reviewing
