Hello There! My name is Karen and I live right outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Way back in 2006 when we needed to put "Half-Blood Prince" spoilers on our fics... when DH didn't even exist... I created my profile here on The Petulant Poetess.
Falling in love with the SS/HG Ship changed my life and allowed me to be in a position to save the site from extinction in 2019. I'm so grateful to be here and to continue to see the wonderful fic here live on for as long as possible.

I have been hoping for someone to do a fic based on this song, thank you. Maybe you will consider doing another Nickleback song that seems to scream out to this pairing - hopefully you know which one I mean. I don't remember the name of the song but it is about being apart too long.

I'm so glad you liked it. Especially since you were hoping for someone to do one based on this song... I think I know which other song you are talking about, it follows Saving Me on the album. I was thinking about it, and I had a thought but I need to mull it over for a while, and I'm already in the middle of writing another song fic using the Tool song Jambi. Wonderful story. Loved the Buffy reference, that was one of my favorite shows. Some great and very truthful lines in that show.

Thank You for the review, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Buffy is another one of my "guilty pleasures". The episode I quoted was the first eppy that made me cry. The amount of love and pain that was projected in the script at the end just ripped my heart out and I couldn't help but pay homage to it here. Thanks Again! ~Brena
Song fics aren't normally my faves, usually some don't seem to go along with the story. This fits perfectly. Very nicely done. I look forward to anything else you migh write. Thanks for posting.

I found this story through a video on YouTube and it was definitely worth reading. I love the song and the first time I heard it, I thought of Snape! I wonder if Chad Kroeger is a closet Snape fan?! *snerk*

I really love Nickelback and this song. I usually find songfics a bit difficult to get through. I tend to skip the song lyrics as they don't always go along with the story well. Definitely not the case in this fic. I really think it's the best songfic I've ever read. You've wound the lyrics into the story as if they were an original part of the story, not just an inspiration stuck in to make a point.I'm really glad I stumbled upon this while checking out your bio page. You really need to write more. If you can do such a fantastic job with a songfic, I'd really like to see what you do with other stuff.
