Hermione is desperate to get her academic life back on track. An apprenticeship in a challenging field is just what she needs. And she's determined to get one with Professor Snape no matter what the costs! But, when she hears his terms, can she live with them? This is a response to the Surrogate Mother Challenge on WIKTT. Complaint through OotP and parts of HBP.
I apologize, but I've basically lost all interest in continuing this fic. I'll likely never update it again. I have a good chunk of the next chapter and I may post it on my personal site when I get around to it. PLEASE do not e-mail me asking if you can see my outline and/or finish this fic for me. I don't want anyone doing that. Sorry.

This was a very good chapter. your dialogue is wonderful. I like what you have done with ALL of the characters.

LOL! Well... chapter five is already up, and I SWEAR chapter 6 is on it's way. It's been the week from hell. *sigh* I know, I know. Excuses, excuses. *hangs head in shame*
love it, love it, love it :>) can't wait for more. Hopefully Hermione will be correct and the Professor will never know what hit him.

I love this response. Snape is such a slytherin... and I'm sure he's right. She will "his surrogate mother" ... after all, this is a response to the surrogate challenge. Anyway, that's a good start. Update as soon as possible

Yes I think Severus is the type who always gets what he wants. It's a shame that Hermione is so naive she thinks she can win a "battle of wills" against him. It will be interesting to see how she reacts when he tells her what he wants. *grins evilly*
Chapter two should be going to my second beta tonight and then when she gets it back to me I will make the changes and post here and at Ashwinder. Should only be a few days! Cheers!

Hehe I know. Someone told me that the Surrogate Challenge is becoming the new Marriage Law Challenge. There are so many responses to it. It's a really interesting challenge, though, so I definitely understand why people are drawn to it. Anyway, have a good day, Gin! :-)
