I loved it! Completely unexpected and I could picture everything in my mind clearly. I'd love to see a sequel to this, if you're willing, when he visits later and they deal with his collection (and maybe coming out of hiding- I'd love to see the ministry's reactions too!). I'll have to find this again and read it closer to christmas again. Maybe with some peppermint cocoa.

I love your descriptiveness and the tone of your story.  I felt it too was a bit fizzy around the edges.

I like that Severus raises superior bats.  They would have to be superior don't you think?

I like stories where characters have to decide whether to protect themselves or endeavor to relate honestly; whether to be bounded by the past or create a present out of who they are now.  You did such a good job with this.

I like that they didn't spend a lot of time trying to figure out who Santa was.  Who cares?

I like that she has custody of the children (books) and that he has a reason to visit them.  I can see these visits becoming more interesting as they expose the bookwyrms to a more varied diet.
