Reviews for Shapeshifter Saga
Curiouser and curiouser.

Thanks. I'll take this in the positive sense that that the story provides a new perspective on familiar characters.
Subtle, but not fatal? glad to hear it Padma.

Three cheers for talented witches with love in their (broken) hearts.
Intriguing exploration of these two, Severus and Padma--love the setting and the interweaving of the landscapes, folklore and mythology of the Native Americans in the Southwest with a mysticism of and between Padma and Severus; the profound revelations between the rational and emotional between them is also a striking current and flowing deep throughout, blended and depicted with the desciptive environment, action and dialogue. I fear that if the tribal elders have deduced that Severus is a warlock, banishing him, that their tolerance of Padma may be also growing thin... Her subtle curse is also of deep concern--looking forward to the next installment of this compelling, engaging saga! As always, thoroughly enjoy your technical and emotive skills, thank you for sharing your unique voice and further envisioning of Padma and Severus' post-canon journeys and dicoveries

Yes, post canon. A traumatized witch wants to recover; a bitter wizard wants to change. It will take a mighty effort that might cause them to commit excess. The Native American lore tries to be authentic, but success is not certain. Glad you enjoyed a romance written in saga style. The curse is subtle enough that it may not be recognizable as a curse. And thank you for all the kind comments.
I know it's only the first chapter, but absolutely nothing of this seems in character to me. It's almost like I'm reading a non-HP story, where the author just replaced the names of people in the story with HP names. I'll keep an eye out for updates, but honestly this one has me scratching my head for now.

A good review. Thanks. A summary for this story could have been 'The Transformation of Snape,' similar to his becoming a vampire or thinking he's Sherlock. Some idea of what has happened to him can be gleaned from the title of a book about Native American legends: "Giving Birth to Thunder, Sleeping with His Daughter: Coyote Builds North America." Plus, Coyote and Crow are mortal enemies. There is not much preamble since the saga style proceeds by action and dialogue and lets the reader deduce thoughts and feelings. For canon characterization, there is a Viking saying that a tale told by one person is half told.
Hoping Severus and Dobby can draw upon and unleash the powers within needed to contribute to the quest, regardless of the oppositional opinions of others being given--it seems that Hermione and Luna's perceptions of their abilities may be more on the mark and definitely not 'incompatible when viewed from a higher plane'--lovely work! Love the entwining, and it seems that Severus' experiences in the Colonies has raised him onto a new level of awareness and way of participating in life--looking forward to more!

Thank you for all the commentary. Which reactions of the three witches are on the Mark? Unleash the powers within - that is tricky. Coyote and Crow have their own puposes, and the outcome may not have any discernible human meaning.(Is there any way to say that this is not Wile E. Coyote?)
