Thank you very much!
Whew, this was quite a way to jump back into fanfic. Such an odd pairing, but I loved it. It really brought up a jumble of emotion. There was that fine line between them using one another, albeit for a separate but common purpose, and them needing one another. Sometimes it felt shady and sometimes sincere, and I'm not even sure they always knew in which category they fell. This really tugged at the heartstrings in an unusual way. Loved it!

Thank you so much - I was challenged to write this pairing, and challenge me it did! I sometimes felt they were taking over, and even I didn't know or understand their motivations at times. It was truly a case of letting the characters do the heavy lifting for you. I'm so glad you liked it, and chose it to jump back into fanfic! <3
Let me review this again or for the first time, I cannot remember. This was such a heart wrenchingly beautiful story. I am out of breath, I am weak, bothered and bewildered by this wonderful tale you have woven from the remnants of two broken souls, that together seem to fit so perfectly. Bravo my friend, bravo.

Thank you so very, very much, my dear friend. This story had a lot of growing pains, and at times I despaired of even finishing it. I really wanted it to be a story that left the readers 'out of breath, weak, bothered and bewildered', so naturally I'm thrilled at your comments! <3
That was...so beautiful and *real* and...I never imagined...and that poignant metaphor of them as bitter twins.. I'm speechless. This is truly amazing, and I apologize for my incoherent review, but I am moved beyond words by this story, and typing through tears is HARD, damnit!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments - they mean so very much to me that the story moved you so much <3
*sniffles* Teddy, this is one of the most emotion-evoking stories I've ever read... beautifully done. Xx

Wow, Teddy, this is fantastic!
The potential for a relationship between Petunia and Severus is rather delicious, and I really think you've made the most of it. Bittersweet, because they are both such bitter people, it doesn't make sense that they could ever have a true, honest, faithful relationship. Without Lily, perhaps they may have radiated together as the two brooding misfits, but perhaps not. What brought them together was what neither of them could have.
There are many things we can only fully realize, know, admit when we are older, and their true desire for each other was one of those things. I love how Severus' letter showed that realization, also how he came clean to her about how much she meant to him. How unfortunate that at the same time his letter may have brought her some comfort, it brought the ultimate despair that she could never have his true feelings for her in real time.
This is so achingly sad. It fits so well with canon events is so very true to Severus' and Petunia's characters. Very, very well done, my friend!

Hello dear...good to hear from you again. It's a good thing that I'm off to Eurodisney on Saturday because that left me feeling as though I've just been ambushed by a load of Dementors armed with tickling sticks. What a brilliant but incredibly bittersweet romance. Two severely damaged people seeking and eventually finding some peace and solace with each other. So poignant to find out that he had only ever been with Petunia. As always you certainly captured both the literal and inner voice of a toughly arrogant but very vulnerable northern lad who just wants to be loved. On the flip side I always thought we never saw the 'real' Petunia either in the books or films....the great Fiona Shaw never given enough air time. A bloody triumph darling and certainly worth the wait....but don't stay away too long. Love to you and yours....Ali xxxxx.

Ali! It's so good to see you again. I hope that life it treating you well, and I hope you have a marvelous time at Eurodisney! Thank you for the lovely comments - If I've pleased you with Severus' 'northern voice', then I feel like I've written true, and it means so much to have you say it. Thank you so much - I've been feverishly trying to finish my novel, and I've worked so hard that I've written two of the three books of the series - well, I'm on the last chapter of the second book, so I've not been idle, just working on something that might hopefully make me some money! Take care, Teddy xxoo
Jesus. This slayed me.

I hope in a good way ;)
This was excellent. Petunia's voice specifically, the combination of who she is in the books and her inner thoughts and motivations; you really captured her while bringing her to new life and depth. Snape, too. In fact, I was suspect at liking this, because I didn't want to like Petunia, but you really pulled me into her narrative and I'm not sure which scene caught me more, they're all very powerful from her point of view. Oh, I really liked the way you described Lily and the Evans', too, the parent's specifically; despite being on the periphery, I liked the way you included their subtle shifts in thought concerning magic. And Petunia's magiclessness, the way you wrote it, I just really loved that too.

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. It's quite exciting and scary writing out of one's comfort zone, but I've been thrilled with the response this story has received.
I hated it and I loved it. I've grown too accustomed to the good Severus; the duty-bound man who loves Lily or Hermione in all the love stories. Your portrayal of this harsh boy, man, who reacted to pain with anger and yet was desperately needy underneath was hard to take, but may be closer to the truth. I also liked your take on Petunia thinking that if Lily got a letter and Severus got a letter, that it only made sense that she should get one too. That when she didn't get a letter, that she was forgotten or just not good enough. Glad you’re still writing

Thank you for your amazing comments. I am still writing, and trying very hard to write a lot of things for a lot of people. I'm really glad that the Severus that came across was the one I wanted. I kind of think of this as my 'canon Severus' now.
Wow. Just...wow. Amazing.

Thank you!
Dear Teddy. I read this story before work early am today. I loved this so easy to get into and read. I agree it is beautiful, sad and is an excellent read. i loved the smoking mancunian Severus sounds very 70's northern lad with the "Pet" bit. The portrayal of him and Petunia worked for me too and i admit i cried st the last bit the "goodbye pet" and his letter.I love your fiction always save them to my favs. X <3 Natasha
