What a cliffhanger!  I love how Hermione gets the last stinging word before the break. The way you've told the big reveal from Severus' point of view exposes his insecurities and need to protect himself at all costs, and makes him all the more endearing, even as he deliberately manipulated Hermione's emotions. This last scene is simply perfect.  You have such a way with words that you don't require many of them to paint a vivid scene where one feels the tension, potential humiliation, and guilt without it having it to be spelled out word for word.  Hopefully any update won't be too long in coming!

Well, it's all out there now! I hope he finds his courage before she gets more bitter.
