Severus often found himself staring deeply at his own reflection as if he were under some sort of spell. His own expression troubled him as it showed him that he was nothing more than a shell of the man he thought he would have become. Hollow, tired eyes looked at ashen skin, seeing the slight lines of strain and premature aging. He was only thirty-seven, but he felt stretched well beyond his years.

Thank you for reading!
Great little story, but part of me wishes that it had ended with him living at the end and knowing she was right. (I'm one of those hopeless suckers who refuses to believe that Snape died lol)

Thank you for reading and for the review!
Snape's inner torment over what Dumbledore demanded of him is starkly vivid. Beautifully done.

Thank you for the wonderful review!
This is a stunning vignette and a window on just how much Severus was hurting due to the actions he'd been forced to perform when he was forcibly bound to do what Dumbledore wished. I felt myself being drawn into the weft and weave of the story, hoping the ending would be less grave, but knowing instinctively that there really was only one ending possible to the tragedy of Snape's life.Beautifully done! :)

Thank you for the fantastic review. Snape’s story in every form and facet is terribly sad. It makes you wonder whether he would have found solace in life had he survived. Again, thanks for reading. I’m thrilled you’ve enjoyed it.
