For the first time in Severus Snape's life, he actually has the girl. Now, all he has to do is figure out if he truly wants to keep her.

I've been reading HP fanfic since 2005. Severus is my favorite character, although I enjoy stories about others that don't feature him.
I've served as alpha and cheerleader for writers since 2010, and 2012 marks my first outing as a writer.

With it being under the Potions Under Duress category, I was expecting it to be a SS/HG romance, so I was sorely disappointed. It's a lovely story, just not what I was expecting. Hardly any romance, at all, since the romance that takes place isn't between the protagonists, and takes place off-stage, if you will. Really cute story, and I'm glad they're both happy, in the end, anyway.

Ugh! I completely missed this back when it posted. I am sorry this didn't fit your expectations. I did attempt to warn readers in advance by putting the prompt I wrote to at the end of the prologue which asked for a mature, realistic handling of a completely unromantic situation, no fluff.
After 30-something years of marriage to my best friend and observing other relationships, people involved in the scenario presented tend to do one of two things - finally click after much personal growth or move on because they aren't emotionally ready to commit, for whateverr reason. With the backhistory that Severrus has, he fit the latter category.
As for the category(s), the mod helped me with that.
Glad that you found something to like despite the lack of typical romance leading to a HEA. I absolutely appreciate that you read the whole thing and reviewed.

Quite alright. I need to pay more attentions to warnings, but I'm glad I read it regardless. I guess when reading fanfic, I tend to go looking for the unrealistic, fantasy-type love. I tend to be more pragmatic in life and know that sort of thing is a bit unsustainable, but thanks for the well-worded reply, I appreciate it!
