Absolutely wonderful. So heartbreaking to see her initial reaction to him acting on his unrequited love and then to have her finally realize that she didn't need to be unhappy.

So sad , for all concerned, unhappiness spreads like a virus, from one person, to another, Hermione can't make anyone happy, if she is not happy herself. 

Oh, how very sad.  The emotions in this piece were spot on, and it made me feel desperate for them to have a chance at happiness.  I do like that we don't know much about Hermione's marriage and home life.  That would have muddied up the story.  Poor dears.

For such a short piece this packs a very powerful punch. I hope they do find the happiness they deserve.

Gut wrenching. So sad, but at least you left us with a shred of hope. Thank you for that, and for a lovely one-shot.

This is very well written, and reflects an all too common reality in the lives of good people who have grown apart and must deal with  conseqences they do not want to have to face.

What a heartbreaking situation they have.  Sometimes, in not making a decision, we discover that we have made a decision after all.  I hope they can find a way to salvage something, but I'm not optimistic.
