I'm a middle-aged, professional writer of non-fiction and would-be professional writer of fiction who also writes Harry Potter fanfiction just for fun.

I’m a proud member of the Harry Potter Old Lady Smut Brigade, which means I’m most interested in the older female characters in the Harry Potter saga, particularly Minerva McGonagall.

If I had received my Hogwarts letter back in nineteen-mumble-mumble, I would most likely have been sorted into Ravenclaw, or so everyone tells me, probably because I’m a geeky data-freak (my Real Life™ requires me to read piles of medical journal articles.) I, however, think I’d feel right at home in Hufflepuff too, so I consider myself a Ravenpuff.

The fics I write may contain adult themes, and I will always warn for non-con, graphic violence, bestiality, incest, or underage sex. I don't warn for homosexual relationships or sex, or for threesomes/moresomes, unless they contain one of the aforementioned elements.

Disclaimers: Anything from the Harry Potter universe belongs solely to its creator, J.K. Rowling, and her licensees. Original plot, characters, dialog, etc. are mine.

My stories are available for use under a Creative Commons attribution, non-commercial, share-alike license (CC-BY-NC-SA).

I have a blog: http://squibstress.wordpress.com/.

I'm also on LiveJournal and Twitter (@Squibstress).

I maintain a master list of (mostly Minerva-centric) recs at Diigo.

I am a proud member of the Harry Potter Old Lady Smut Brigade.

I usually avoid the pairing of Severus and Minerva, but I decided to read your story after it was promoted on Facebook, and I really found that I enjoyed this story.  You did a lovely job with the characters and the development between them.  The relationship felt right, and I'm not sure if I've ever felt that way about this pairing in any setting.

Response from Squibstress (Author of Gin a Body Meet a Body)

Many thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. It was fun to write, and it's particularly nice to know you liked it despite it being an unusual pairing for you.Cheers!

"That mark no more makes you a Death Eater than sherbet lemons made Albus a sweet old man."  That line basically wins the Internet. (Don't know what you do with it once you win it, but it's yours)

Great story! Thanks for sharing (and for a happy ending).

I really enjoyed this story. I loved how you displayed the tension between the two at the beginning of the story, and how it turns to tenderness. There was awkwardness, nostalgia, heightened emotion, but none of it done to excess. Minerva/Severus can be great -- or a great disappointment. This was beautifully done.

Response from Squibstress (Author of Gin a Body Meet a Body)

Thank you. I'm glad you didn't find it tripped over into excess; that's altogether too easy to do with this pair, I find.

Love this fic to bits!  1st time, virgin!Snape, h/c, inexperienced man/experienced woman... some of my favourite kinks. Wonderful dialogue and the sex scenes are not only hot, but true to character. Brava! Very well done.

Oh, I just love this story so much. I did when I read it  on Samhaim Smut, and even more so here. I apologise for being such a garbage reviewer, because I want to be erudite and effusive about all the things I love about this fic, but alas, I never express myself well in a review. Suffice to say it made me feel so good to see this happy ending for both of them, and a feeling that both found something that they could keep from their first encounter. You just get the feeling that things are going to be alright from now on. Thank you for giving our dear Potions Master a reason to live, and a abit of fun while doing it.Favourite line:"That mark no more makes you a Death Eater than sherbet lemons made Albus a sweet old man."

Response from Squibstress (Author of Gin a Body Meet a Body)

Thank you so much. It's nice to give them a happy ending (or the possibility for same) for a change.

Oh, I wish I had reveiwed this the same day I read it because I am sure there are lots of little bits that I would have pointed out as favorites.  But alas, real life.  This certainly is worthy or a reread, but I am lucky to have the time to come back and review.Regardless ... I loved this.  When I first encountered this pair, I thought they would never work for me.  But I gave them a chance, and since that time, I have yet to read a SS/MM that was not fantastic (though I'm sure they exist, LOL).  When I read sex scenes between other characters, it is sometimes very much about the physical pleasure of the act, and I won't lie to you, I enjoy that.  But, I've found with these two, it always seems to be about emotions, and healing, and friendship, and redemption, and any other number of deep emotions, and that is what I think makes them so special.  I also feel like typically in a pairing, Severus has the upper hand either due to age, or power, or position, but when he is with Minerva, I can accept that she is in a position of dominance (though not necessarily literally).  It is a nice change.I won't ramble any more, but I did really enjoy this.  Nicely done.

Response from Squibstress (Author of Gin a Body Meet a Body)

Thank you so much for your kind comment.I think MM/SS appeals to me for the same reasons you've articulated, particularly the idea that, at least with Minerva, Severus must allow someone else to take the stronger position. (Although I've read stories that make Minerva the more submissive partner, and they can work too--probably for the same reason.)And of course, there's such a wonderful opportunity for good snark....Thanks again for reading and commenting.

What a lovely story. I so enjoyed the progression here between these two - not a pairing I see very often. Thank you for sharing this.

Well done.  Is this finished or will there be more?

Response from Squibstress (Author of Gin a Body Meet a Body)

Thanks. No, the story is complete. If you're looking for some more good Minerva/Severus from a variety of sources, I have a collection of recs on my Diigo account under the "Minerva_Severus" tag: http://www.diigo.com/user/squibstress/Minerva_Severus?type=all

Absolutely beautiful.  I loved reading this.  You trace the awkwardness of thier relationship - she doesn't back down, she has so many conflicting emotions, she has so many memories - to construct an unconventional love story that really feels true and honest.  Brava! Px

Response from Squibstress (Author of Gin a Body Meet a Body)

Thank you. This was really fun to write--a bit of angst followed by a happy ending for a change!

I loved, loved, LOVED this story so much! It was so endearing how tender Minerva was with Severus, and vice versa, and I especially loved the end -- cheeky Severus!

Great little story. I really do love MM, but rarely read smut with her. But this story was well worth the exception - they are both true to charachter. And the line about Death Marks and Sherbert Lemons is Golden!

I've never read this pairing before (it makes me cringe a little lol), but this was well written, funny, and touching enough where it was needed to be enjoyable. Thanks for sharing with us all.

Response from Squibstress (Author of Gin a Body Meet a Body)

Thanks for giving it a try. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the kind words!
