Hm...how did Hermione end up creating a Dementor in the process of changing time?  There's nothing to indicate that Ron died instead of Severus, and Rose and Hugo no longer exist...so did Severus's ghost somehow become a Dementor, or is it simply that Dementors are created when someone goes back in time and changes events so that they happen in a different way (history which has already happened is destroyed)?

Response from TeaOli (Author of The Only Ones Who Know)

Thanks for reading and caring enough to ask questions!Unfortunately, I'm afraid I didn't understand what you mean by the first question, and I'm not entirely sure if what I perceived as a second question is a question at all. If you'd like to rephrase, I'd be happy to answer what I can answer, but I don't give spoilers in review responses.Just so you know, this drabble is part of a series of three (I honestly can't remember which this one in the publishing order), so things might be clearer if all three are read together in publishing order (which, if remember correctly, was reverse chronological order).

sort of parallel universe. they know what would have happened. spooky , since no one knows that.No one knows what he would have had if he had taken the other road. they must have read JKR's epilogue...sadly she took her road and it didn't seem to end in happieness. I would have wished that for them. pity.

Response from TeaOli (Author of The Only Ones Who Know)

Thank you for the "spooky". Having learnt through reading JKR's epilogue would likely have been a comfort. Alas, all knowledge was gained and/or retained by in fic means. But it's also important to remember that happiness is relative and not quantitative. It's the same for sadness.

Response from salvamea (Reviewer)

so your story/ending doesn't necessarily mean the characters are sad.We just meet them in a moment when they are remembering that things could have gone different ways?

Response from TeaOli (Author of The Only Ones Who Know)

In parts one and three, we are meeting them in moments of remembering. That is a perfect way to phrase it.

Yep, still just as creepy, even more so, because it leaves so much to the imagination.

Haunting.   So much in so few words.

Response from reader76 (Reviewer)

So she can see or feel the imprint of her life with Ron even though she accidentally gave it up to save Severus, probably not knowing she would end up with him romantically when she saved his life.  And a heartbroken Ron is going to seek revengs?

Response from TeaOli (Author of The Only Ones Who Know)

No revenge going on. Just decay and Darkness.

Very strange, would  have been her home, but isn't now. His ghost is rising, and he is there to see it. The children; Rose and Hugo, with Ron? but do Hermione and Severus, have any children together? Looking forward to the other version.

Response from TeaOli (Author of The Only Ones Who Know)

I have a policy not to spoil deliberate mysteries, so I will only thank you for asking the correct questions.

So Hermione gave up the hope of ever having children with Severus; And she's married to Severus; but they might be dead; and there's dementors living somewhere in the open? I can't wait to read this other version!

No. Yes; no. Not really. I don't think it will help you understand any better, unfortunately. But thanks for taking the time to read!
