What do you get when you cross an imaginative, anti-hero nut from Tasmania with a Snape-loving, closet-writer from the UK?
Advanced Smut Makers!!!!
Yes, we have joined forces across the waters to produce our very first RP-turned-fanfiction called 'Where Your Loyalities Lie'
Despite our excessive love of the Potions Master, our muses sometimes deny us the ability to produce any writing, but we have been a great motivation for each other and - who knows? - we might produce something else together in the future!

mini Malfoy' - ROFL! hahaha! Sooo, Severus is *struggling* with his libido like never before? Good! Loved Malfoy Manor, as well as a very canon Draco-yes, who is Ichabod Flank? If he's harmed our Isolde in any way (and my guts are queasy that he has...)- a castration hex is ready to whammy him with! Can't wait for more! xxxxps knowing a bit more about Flank, I pray to the powers that be that he gets his comeuppence along with her sorry-arsed sick daddykins... *grrrrhhhh*! (but it's wonderful learning more about her complicated/complexed background... poor Isolde...)xxx

Ooooh don't you worry - you'll be seeing a lot more of our dear (?) Ichabod in the future!

Oh this is a breath of fresh air. Love your Isolde, Sev and Lucius. She is a great creation and anyone who socks Draco...including Hermione...is a star in my book. How is Sev going to deal with this one? Best wishes, Love Ali xxxxx.

Isolde burning her book really was painful and struck hard... being so overwhelmed with the feelings of pain and humiliation and shame-wonderful scenario, ladies! One can truly relate to what she's feeling and her panic and feeling of guilt intertwined with her feelings for Snape. Detention scene-brilliant! So cruel, his pleasure that she burned her addictive *filth*...*whew* I did think he was going to be brutal enough to force her to drink it-thank you for the wonderful, evil ending having him drink *as well he should, the suppressed, restrained ****-he shouldn't have vanished the rest of the contents, he's going to need it! But then, good excuse for more detentions... hehe! Wonderful!

Hello, lovelies! Just love Isolde's dilemma-she is the enjoyable depiction of everything I love in a female protagonist-and her 'sense and sensibilities' towards the Potions Master, her craving for him, books, and lovely escapism and being drawn to the naughty books in the bookstore-delicious! Awww, Severus called it 'filth'? Well, he'll have to broaden his mind, won't he? And Isode's just the witch to help him! Love how you write Snape-just can *taste* his every word and movement-thank you!xxx

Glad you approve of Isolde! There's always that slight, undeniable fear of turning her into a Mary Sue! x

Wonderful details and Potions class angst-but most importantly-she got the extra twenty points!:-) Now, just to wait in anticipation for what will happen when she is left alone with the 'real' Potions master-perhaps, reality will be better than fiction? *waggling eyebrows* Love Marius, he's cheeky, witty and seems to be a true friend... Cedric Diggory?-will Sev have some competition? Great chapter, ladies!xxx

Enjoying every nuance and second of Isolde's angst as well as her yummy, smutty purchase-thank you for sharing! Love your descriptive prose, particularly the atmosphere, setting and, of course, the Potion's Master-so dark, crisp and Gothic *deep, yearning sigh* - lovely work!

Many thanks! Yes, describing the classroom scene was a lot of fun! It may not match the reality, though... xx

I ADORE this premise- it has everything one could *yearn* for- an old dusty bookstore, Snape, erotica publications *waggling eyebrows*, and an OC I can lose myself in- than you! 'Love Slave to the Warlock and In the Vampire's Bed. - guffawed outloud! Love your descriptive prose- lovely, lovely, yummy work-thank you ladies!xxx

The door had not even snapped shut before Snape seized the still-hot phial from his robes, uncorked it, and swallowed its entire contents in one keen gulp. What a great chapter! This last sentence was absolutely the last thing I expected. Well done!!!Beth

"... the closing 'click' of the door invaded the room." Great way to indicate the tenor of Isolde's thoughts at this moment.Snape's reference to her performance in class as an "over-rehearsed potion" was harsh, but not unlike him. I had to laugh at her reaction to his mentioning of the out of the way bookshop in Hogsmeade. but she gathered her wits quickly and resolved not to be intimidated into guilty babbling. Good for her.I was a little surprised at Severus' opinion of Marius, but I hope it's only indicative that his association of the boy with James Potter has put abad taste in his mouth- and not that Marius is really a trouble-maker.When Isolde's addiction over ruled her better judgement, I had a feeling it would end in some sort of unpleasant awakening. And Boy!Howdy did it ever. Instead of being thanked for an errand well done, she has earned a tongue lashing not at all like one she might have imagined in her dreams. Clearly Snape is pissed.I can't help but wonder what Snape's "undoubtedly painful meeting with the headmaster" was all about, and whether Brinkley really isn't as unaware as his behavior indicates. I'm looking forward to the next chapter!Beth

Throughout writing this we have desperately tried to keep Severus in character, so I'm glad you find his reaction believable. I can see him being very reluctant to hand out praise (unless it's to someone like Draco Malfoy - yuck), after all, he recieved little during his years as a student despite being brilliant. Severus' opinion of Marius comes from a mingle of memory and jealousy - though he doesn't know it yet ;) As for the meeting and Brinkley, I don't want to give anything away! Thanks for reviewing.

I like Isolde's friend, Marius. Thoughtful best buddies bring gifts of coffee when it's needed most. When the class was brewing the day's potion, I was very impressed with Isolde's attention to detail, making certain that she knew what she was doing before she began. That's the mark of good brewer. And it earned her an unheard of 40 points for Slytherin! Go Isolde!!!Beth

I'm glad you like Marius. He is an absolute joy to write, and he is just what Isolde needs. Plus, the addition of tasty coffee goodness is just a bonus! Isolde is a perfectionist, which is why her marks in Potions are so high. Her attention to detail, I think, also comes about through her many years attempt to make Severus notice her!!!

How many teenage girls have spent their evenings imagining a great and lasting love affair with their favorite male teacher! You've captured the sweet torture of teenage girl angst perfectly.Isolde's father kinda reminds me of Severus' father. I'm thinking the Potions Master will understand her a lot better than she thinks he will.Very interesting chapter!Beth

This is a delightful start to a story, and I can't wait to see what you two dream up for our Potions Master and the not-yet-sneaky-enough Miss Hamilton. You've got Snape's public personna down pat, and I'm looking forward to seeing how Isolde comes to terms with her feelings for her professor... and how he comes to terms with her feelings for him, too.Well done! Ack! A bit of a cliffie at the end there. I was so engrossed in the story that I didn't realize I was the end until I was at the end! Good chapter.

I don't often read HP fics with non-canon main characters, but I have been enjoying this one quite a bit. I am very excited to see where this goes. One tiny nit-picky thing... I do believe Durmstrang is in Bulgaria, isn't it? When Snape mentioned Norway, it threw me for a loop. Maybe I just assumed, since Viktor Krum is the seeker for Bulgaria's Quidditch team in GoF. Either way...can't wait to read more!
Response from Advanced Smut Making (Author of Where Your Loyalties Lie)
Hi there! Thanks very much for your review! We really appreciate your comments. Yes, I thought Durmstrang was in Bulgaria too but when I did some research (yes, I am very sad), JKR said in an interview that it's either in Norway or Sweden but even she doesn't know for sure because, like Hogwarts, it's a close-guarded secret. The link to the interview report is http://www.accio-quote.org/articles/2000/1209-hpfgu-scruton.html if you were interested. I just chose Norway because I assumed Snape would know more than JKR! xx

Love the layering on and ripple effects of Lucius and his evil ways/influence all the way to the dress tailors salon... Love the cameo inserts of Mad-Eye Moody/Crouch jr, ikrking Severus, and the foreboding current underneath the hype and preparation and banter of Isolde and her peers is stronger and stronger, pushing and building --wonderful, intriguing layers!!!xxx

Love the complicated and richly layered back story of Isolde's background interwoven so richly with the Hogwarts tapestry--loved the Greenhouse scenario and all of the details--from the seedling of the seeds up to that last caption of their finger's touching--so sensual and lovely (and metaphoric--Snapette squeeing!) just wonderful! Love Severus' passion being disclosed and his struggle with his mind and emotions; love Isolde's intellect, sensibilities and strength and feisty nature--but sorry for poor Marius... I do want to give some more Marius-love, he's one of those rare male friends, who loves and cares unconditionally, in spite of her subtle or not so subtle rejections of him, swallowing down any zingers she throws at him and capable of looking beyond and still desiring to be there for her regardless *hugs for Marius* Wonderful, delectable prose and action!xxx
