Excellent writing. I knew where it was headed, but it was great getting there.

*lol* Yes, if you are familiar with the story, it is fairly predictable. I'm happy you had fun reading it!
I read this awhile ago and it was quite moving. I still find the imagery and poignance of the story to be moving. The scars of life can sometimes be too much to handle, but living a half life is no more bearable. This really is a beautiful story.

Thank you. I was asked to pick a story this month, and this continues to be one of my favorites (of my own stories). I'm glad you like it as well.
Wow! I'm speechless. A lovely piece of fiction, with its analogy about the garden of Eden. Nothing else needs to be said... congratulations for writing such a great piece of fiction.

Thank you. I think this story is my favorite out of all I've written, so it's nice to hear such kind words!
This is a very touching story, short though it may be, and displays so much reality of war time within it. Nicely done.Elura

Thank you. This is my favorite story. At the time I had first posted it (1994), about 80% or more of the readers didn't "get" it. But there's exactly what you said: the reality of war time, plus a sort of story within a story, and of course, it's heavily based on Genesis.
Wonderfully done. I love the way you describe the way the people are just on the edge of her consciousness. This is just so surreal.
