Hermione had always assumed that if the war hadn't defeated her, nothing could. Constantly going in and out of St Mungo’s as a patient with a rare autoimmune disease was not how she would have chosen to spend the six months after Voldemort’s fall.

I read and write fanfiction as a means of procrastination - it's usually much more interesting than anything that comes my way from uni.
At OWL I'm mw8, but on Ashwinder or Fanfiction.net and now here I'm Paisley Snail.

Very good moving along chapter. Look forward to more.
Good update. Nicely informative.
Wow! Minerva's intuition was spot-on! They ARE good for each other. It makes for a nice change that you have weak Hermione and fully(?) empowered Severus here, and I'm already looking forward to learning more about Australia.
Loving this story so far, I really hope to see more of it soon. Its extremly interesting.
Sounds like an interesting place. It's good that Severus isn't coddling Hermione.
Hi. Reread this and am even more impressed second time around! Like the description of Severus' quarters (filthy and revolting) and Minerva's dislike of them and him provided a much needed grit to the story. Good comparison with Hermione's condition, which others might find revolting (people sometimes frightened / repulsed by illness). I really like sulking Snape. Looking forward to chapter 3!
Sounds like Hermione has the magical version of Lupus? But what do I know? YOu are the med student after all. I only wish Hermione would have had someone with her for the diagnosis. Poor thing. Where are those two morons she calls her best friends? Grrrrrr
I love the thought of them tentatively starting a life together in a peaceful setting. Here's to hoping she needs him and he needs her forever.
I believe it is actually Hermione who has backed herself into a corner in life. She would be a fool to pass up this offer. I hope if she stays, Severus plans to stay too. He really seems happy here.
Hermione had a great plan. It's just that there was so much to think of and she missed some details. And she never could have known that law enforcement would get involved. I am glad her parents aren't too upset.
I hope Severus feels he can stay as long as he wants/needs to. If he doesn't, perhaps Hermione will give him a reason to stay. I wonder what his response to the letter will be?
I've found little in my life more romantic than watching fireworks with someone. I don't know why that is, but I felt the same way here. I love relaxed Severus! Perhaps they will become closer, and with his new holiday persona, he won't push her away.
It would be grand to be able to walk the streets and not get recognized after being such a well known figure at home. I hope he does just kick back and relax; he deserves it.
Well, that was rather bold (or maybe stupid) of Hermione, but it turned out okay, thankfully. Even though he may be frustrated with her, I love what good care Severus is giving her.
I really enjoyed this story. Can we have chapter 10 please?
Er, do you know why this says there's an additional chapter?
Wow, such a blow, but very realistic reaction.
Who knew there would be such a process for port keying in this manner to Australia? I was a bit nervous for Snape there for a moment. Even though his attitude bothers her a bit, I think he won't treat her as an invalid, and that is precisely what she needs.
It seems this could be beneficial to all parties. I wonder what Hermione will think about her traveling companion. His quarters sounded absolutely revolting. Good thing Minerva rescued him from himself.
I do hope something can be done. I also hope she has some friends to support her, because it sounds like a long road ahead of her. Poor dear ...
Nice chapter... way to short. Look forward to more.
I enjoyed this story very much. It is gentle and thoughtful, and offers a vision of a peaceful and hopeful future for them both. Sequel??? Surely it can't be that easy for her to manage her illness and for him to keep ignoring the pull of his unresolved obligations and his fledgling feelings for her...? Px
Great Story. Thanks so much for sharing. I am kind of hoping they stay in Oz for a very long time, a place with happier -- or at least newer -- memories. They deserve some time away from being judged.
wow, yes; you show us quite a few facettes of what can happen with such a plan. The Grangers got away fairly easily, and Redmond is one person to thank for.
Severus is showing much understanding and compassion here, and of course he woudl know about guilt festering. It's a huge leap forward for him, though, to admit it. To a Gryffindor no less.
Thanks for a thoroughly thought through story!
Ill or not, Hermione is channeling her petulant brat quite well in this one. Someone needs a good spanking I think.
Enjoying the story tremendously and looking forward to the next chappie!
