Nice little bit, would be a great start to a slightly longer story (hint hint, lol). Both seem to be very much in character, which I appreciate, because often they don't seem to be.

So near and yet so far from each other. I would think that SS and SG would both open their doors at the same time to go to each other and meet half way there. Well thats my ending to your wee fic. Thanks for writing and sharing.

How many nights, indeed.  The tension and desire felt here are wonderful.  Young or not, she is an adult, so he should just go for it.  Perhaps since they retire at the same time, they could both have the urge to shower at the same time, lol.  Just a thought, because I would love to see more.

Wow.  I wonder if there is a chance he feels the same way.  The idea of her exploring her body - by touch and by sight - while thinking of the man on the other side of the wall is perhaps more erotic than if he was there with her.

Hermione is so taken with Severus, and I hope he is thinking along the same lines that she is.  In the room next door.  He must be just as interested because he walks with her to their rooms... he just doesn't go to her room.  *sigh*

I also thought of Severus looking into Hermione's room via the mirror. It's a magical world after all...
