Reviews for The Scrivenshaft's Book
I see you already answered my question in response to a previous review. I wondered if Dickens's Miss Havisham was the reason Snape chose Havisham for his nom de plume. Makes sense. I always recall her with one shoe off and one on.
This is really a nifty beginning. Thank you.
I'm chuckling @ the choice of an Old English sheepie. Underneath all that hair and good will is a sly, stubborn personality and, in my experience, concentrated in the female of the breed. Dogs exemplify love, concern and loyalty...the bases for this story and woven well into your tale. By the way, if herding dogs were sorted into Hogwarts houses, none would be Hufflepuffs...Slytherins is my guess. Look forward to more of this story. JF

That's so true! I'm laughing at the Old English sheepdog's personality... I chose it primarily because I've always loved watching them at the dog shows, but I think this really fits Calla. Thank you for reading!

I love how you've captured Hermione's voice in these entries, especially the little questions she asks daughter. I also love all of the detail you've put into Snape's investigation, although some of the details may have gone a bit over my head (don't worry, I kept up though lol). I also appreciate Hermione and Ron's continued friendship, even after the divorce (not always present in SSHG fics). I look forward to seeing what is revealed next!

Thanks for reading! I hope things will become more clear as the story develops. I'm so glad you like Hermione's voice...
Okaaaaay? That was interesting. Does Snape teach at Cambridge or is he just a researcher living in the town? I can understand the name Royal, but where does the Haversham come from? Is he a fan of Dickens? Too many questions? I got a million of them, to quote Jimmy Durante. ^_^
Response from Pieredaes Muse (Author of The Scrivenshaft's Book)
Thanks! I love questions! Snape is a private researcher, which will be somewhat addressed in later chapters. Havisham is a reference to Dickens' Miss Havisham...there is a reason that also is best answered later on. However, I will say that he feels a bitter kinship to her.
So Snape owns an OE! What a hoot. I wonder if he's invented a grooming charm?

We'll have to check the Intellectual Property Office! Snape is rarely portrayed with a dog, and yet I think one would do him good.
Phew! I like Snape and I like Cambridge. And I truly like your story. Thank you.

Hopefully it will be up later this month!
Great Chapter! I am curious to see where this is going! Hurry back soon!
Response from Pieredaes Muse (Author of The Scrivenshaft's Book)
Thank you for reading! I will hurry back as fast as possible, which unfortunately will not be as quick as you or I would like.
How very sad. I hope you are continuing this story. It is very interesting the way she is weaving together her search for a cure through muggle and magical avenues.

Thanks for reviewing! Hermione is a very resourceful woman. She has two very different heritages that offer explanations, but fortunately she is willing to hear each equally. The story is complete, but going through the editing process which I hope will be able to continue in this month of midterms and final projects. The next part will be up in a week or so!
How very sad! And how very like Hermione to know her daughter will have questions, her husband may not have the answers, and to keep a journal to remedy all of that.
Response from Pieredaes Muse (Author of The Scrivenshaft's Book)
I'm glad you think so! But some answers will be provided soon...
Interesting, but if she's married to Ron, where does Severus fit in? ^_^
Response from Pieredaes Muse (Author of The Scrivenshaft's Book)
The next part should answer that :-)
A very intriguing beginning! Though the premise is tragic, I look forward to seeing how the mystery unravels.

Thank you! The next part should be up soon!
Poor Hermione, what a horrible way to die. Keeping a journal to pass on to her daughter seems very much in character for her. I look forward to the next chapter.
Response from Pieredaes Muse (Author of The Scrivenshaft's Book)
Yes, she's determined to be with her daughter in any form possible. The next part should be up soon!
