I'm a fifty-year-old working mom and wife. I discovered HP fanfiction late in 2007 and fell in love. My favorite pairing is SS/HG, but I also enjoy stories featuring the triumvirate of Slytherin bad boys: Severus, Lucius and Draco!
Check it out! I have shiny banners!

This really does just keep getting better and better. I am really enjoying how Severus is opening up to her and how she is letting him know that everything with her is not all peaches and cream.. The sarcastic comments between the both of them are quite fun to read. I love how you throw in a laugh, smile anything that gives his comments a teasing tone. I caught that brief lingering pat on the hand she gave him. YUM.. McFly, oh dear wait till he finds out what that guy is referring to. hhahaa

Wow! Thanks for your effusive review,

. Despite his best efforts to hide the truth, Snape is human, with weaknesses and frailty like the rest of us. And war heroine Hermione looms larger than life, but she has chinks in her armor too. They both have learned that it doesn't hurt to show that vulnerability, and maybe doing so will get them some lovin'... You'll have to read on to see. ;)
I am loving this story! Please keep it going!

Response from Lightening (Reviewer)
In this complicated and depressing world, fluff is prescribed!
I'm enjoying this story a lot so far. Your characterizations are such fun and I love their banter and Severus' internal monologues. As I'm in the process of teaching my 40-something hubby to drive manual transmission, I certainly sympathize with Hermione, though she's far more mellow about it than I've been.
Love the plot device of Brian the brain. Will we meet Hermione's brain? "Abby" makes me think of Abby Normal from Young Frankenstein. :)
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
Yay! I'm so pleased you like this frothy fic. It was fun to write, especially their combative banter and Severus' inner voice. Who knew a comedian lurked inside him? I think Hermione learned patience on her extended camp-out. With teaching Severus how to drive, she has one cranky man to deal with rather than two petulant boys. It's a walk in the park, so to speak. Brian and Severus work well together, each taking their turn as straight man and funny man... uh, brain? Severus seems the sort to keep things bottled up inside, so it's good for him to have someone to pour his heart out to... even in his limited capacity. Yes, you're right about Abby,
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
(I loves me some pop culture references). Sadly, we won't be seeing Abby in this story. Hermione depends on her for research alone because she has flesh and blood friends she can talk to when she feels the need. Thanks for taking the time to review.
Oops! Looks like Brian has been caught. Hopefully, he'll learn his lesson about gossiping lol. It also looks like Hermione and Severus are getting to know each other... I'm definitely interested to see what happends next! I thought the chapter was entertaining and I'm really enjoying the witty dialogue. Looking forward to the next chapter!

That blabbermouth Brian was bound to be caught one of these days. If anyone could put fear into him, it would be Severus. Slowly but surely, they are getting to know each other. It's not like they have nobody to talk to at work; they both have disembodies brains to whom/which they can spill their guts, but it's not the same as a real live person... with a face. It might take a bit of time before they really open up. Thanks for taking the time to review, ks.
Malevolent look and wand in hand? Look out, Brian? Love the name, by the way. It just dawned on me that it's an anagram of brain. ^_^
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
Don't worry,
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
. The worst thing Severus could do to Brian is take away his books and music. Honestly, Brian needs to be better about transmitting his gossipy thoughts.*chuckles* Finally, someone picked up on the joke behind his name. I'll send Severus to personally award house points to you. Thanks for reviewing,

Uh oh, Brian is in trouble now. It was good to see that Severus did indeed pick up the tab at the pub. I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of their lessons!
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
Fear not, Brian! Severus is all bark and no bite. And having spent years kissing the hem of Voldemort's robes, Severus knows diplomacy. Paying for Hermione's dinner is just another way to make up for all the whining he did/will do during the driving lessons. He still owes her one big honking favor. Thanks for reviewing,
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)

Severus is being awfully cranky for someone who asked Hermione to teach him to drive. He'd better pick up the tab at the pub! Great chapter once again!
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
The crankiness is so ingrained in Severus that he might pop an aneurism if he attempts to supress it. I certainly hope he would be a gentleman and offer to pay her tab. Hermione might be offended by such sexism... but it's not really a date, is it? Thanks for reading and taking time to review,

What's Sev going to do to poor Brian the brain? Brian can't help chatting with others, his social circle is limited - poor Brian, no where to run from a wanded Sev! LOL! Love the pub talk and snack - Lloyd would come in at that crucial moment - Severus' interrogation is to be continued with a persistent Hermione, I hope! One of the many things I love about this story is the developing, double-edged humour that both Hermione and Severus have and understand between each other; it's wonderful to experience the nuances and bits of appreciation each is having the chance to see and experience with the other, and the feeling that it's something new/unique for each - looking forward to more!
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
Don't worry about Brian. He's a brain and he has no nerve endings, so if Severus harms him, Brian wouldn't feel any pain. Beside, Severus is all bark and no bite: he wouldn't hurt his best friend; he just wants to put a little fear in him. The worst Snape could do is take away the wireless or Brian's trashy novels. Brian needs to do a better job in keeping confidences. He's such a yenta, a busy-body, a nosy parker. Lloyd does have impeccable timing. If he hadn't come in at that point, things would have gotten ugly. Neither Snape nor Hermione were ready to reveal deep, dark secrets and motivations. Perhaps as they spend more time together? I'm glad you like my vision of SS/HG. They are so very similar: too smart for their own good, a bit awkward socially, stubborn, loyal. They remind me of a modern version of Tracy and Hepburn, and so, I love seeing them argue. Bring on the witty banter!
I'm inclined to lean toward the latter option: she might have some heinous plan of revenge! Severus had better watch out. This was another great chapter. I'm hooked!
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
Watch out, indeed! I'm certain Snape is aware of the wrath of a vengeful Hermione. Dolores Umbridge? Maretta Edgecombe? I doubt he knows of what she did to Rita Skeeter, though. He should be on his best behavior, his most charming even, during his driving lessons. But if anyone's prone to road rage, it would be him. Thanks again for reviewing,

I'll admit that I was initially attracted to this story because the title was intriguing. There's just something oddly funny about the word "cometh." Then, I began to read and I could not help but feel like I was in an episode of Doctor Who. Have you by chance seen it? Brian the Brain would fit perfectly into the DW universe. Anyway, I liked the chapter. It made me laugh and it was interesting. Severus as an ice cream man... oh dear. I'm looking forward to reading the next!
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
I thought my punny title was a bit over the top, but I just couldn't help myself. You know, as much as I like science fiction and excellent writing and acting, I've never seen Dr. Who. That's hard to believe. I must put it on the to-watch list! I'm so tickled pick that you like this story so far! Thanks for taking the time to review!
So no dunderheaded hormonal teenagers were injured in the writing of this story, but you destroyed a car? Shame on you! *grin* And I'm hoping Hermione's grin presages revenge. Oh yes, revenge would be nice. *rubs hands together* And a favor to be specified later, of course. ^_^
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
Um, well, it's not destroyed, per se. It's still driveable, but Mrs. O'Leary would need to hire a team of magical mice -- transformed into horses -- in order to do so. We have seen Hermione's flair for revenge in canon. If Snape has any sense, he would run in the opposite direction... fast. Thanks for reading and reviewing,

Haha you know, on discovering that Severus was to be an Ice Cream man, I had a strange vision of him as the childcatcher. *ducks* haha. Great start, excited for more!
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
Bwahaha. I haven't seen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang since I was a kid. I think the Child Catcher actually enjoyed his job; in comparision, Snape would have enjoyed teaching if there were no children involved. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
I have never seen a story that started with a BOOM and much less depicting a failing Severus on his own potions that that hooked me to this story. I like your sense of humor. Please keep writing

Thanks for your lovely review,
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
! I think Severus is as fallible as the next wizard, but to demonstrate such weakness, especially to his enemies, would have been folly. Now, he has no true enemies, and he can relax a bit, not be such a perfectionist. If you think he failed in this chapter, wait until you read the next. By the way, it's all written; I just have to post it. Thanks again.
Loved this chapter.I can not wait for the next one.
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
Thank you so much, Beth! You won't have to wait too long for the next chapter. I plan to upload it very soon.
Funny, and quite interesting too! My only question is: Are you sure Snape would begin any sentence with the word "seriously"?
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
I'm quite certain he would begin a sentence with 'seriously.' This is a different breed of Snape here, the type of man given to impulsivity and frou-frou coffees made with frothy milk. Thanks for reading and taking the time to review.
Severus? Learning to drive? In a weekend? Does his neighbour know he wants to use the car? Were there any hormonal teenagers hurt or killed during the writing of this story? Full of questions, aren't I? ^_^
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
Full of questions just like Hermione. Well, he's a powerful wizard who can fly without a broom, so of course he thinks he could learn to drive in a weekend. And if he could hoodwink the Dark Lord, he can easily talk his neighbor into lending him the car. Don't worry about the teenagers, by the way. Thanks for reading and reviewing,

Love the humour between Snape and Brian (had a flash of an Isaac Asimov character I love), the banter, and the task at hand, as well as the tension between Sev & Hermione ( the faint odor of burnt armadillo organs-HA!) - I've no idea where you're going with this, nor do I want to - but will enjoy the adventure as it is revealed - an ice-cream van and non-human entities - can't wait for more!
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
I'm so tickled that you enjoyed this, nag. Aren't Brian and Snape like an old married couple, sniping and griping? You're right about the tension between Severus and Hermione, and they haven't even spoken to each other yet. As always, it's not about the destination, but the journey you experience on the way, and this will certainly be a fuel-injected adventure! Thanks for the pretty stars!
Great start- as soon as I saw the name Tadfield, I started grinning! I would just love to see how Dog and Crookshanks get along... (visual pun intended)
Response from Clairvoyant (Author of The Ice-Cream Man Cometh)
Thank you so much, Ms. Angel, but there will be hell to pay for your cheekiness.
I really enjoyed this fic, and I'm sorry I'm only leaving one review! I would leave one for each chapter if I weren't on my way to bed right now. I just wanted to say thanks for a great read! :D
This was so much fun to read. I loved how Hermione and Snape gradually warmed up to each other, and their banter was clever and funny. But I especially liked your Brian. This is definately the first story I've ever read with a talking brain!!! hahahaaaa! Thanks for sharing.
A great ending to an entertaining story! I agree with the previous reviewers, if you're ever inspired, I'd love to read about their adventures in the ice cream van lol.
I appreciated your attention to detail and loved your original characters, Brian especially. Overall, great job!
What a lovely ending. I liked that you didn't have a Snape who was too confident, or too anxiety ridden.
Poor Lloyd, he was just trying to help. And I agree, their first time should not be in Arthur Weasley's car. Leave that to his children, LOL.
I do hope at some point you are inspired to write at least a one-shot- "Scenes from an ice cream van," or something. Yes, you must. It is too tempting, and you know you want to. :) Great story!
I like how they are both reluctant to open up, but once they start talking, the floodgates open wide and they start spilling everything. They are so going to hook up. I wonder if Severus will ask Brian to be his best man ... :)
This was really funny! I loved it. Great job!
