Chapter 1 of 1
kyriaofdelphiFor some, love never ends.
ReviewedThe job of clearing out his things had fallen to her, as she knew it would.
The first thing she saw when she entered the flat was the book on the table by his chair. She picked the book up, wondering why he had kept it all these years.
It fell open to a marker. A Dragon Rose, its green-gold petals still glowing with magic, lay on the page of poetry.
Her tears began as she realised it still shone as brightly as it had when chosen as the symbol of their bonded love.
“Oh, Alastor, my only love, I will miss you.”

Lovely and sentimental. Great look at Moody's humanity.
In canon Alastor was so isolated, which made his death all the more tragic, but here he has Minerva to love and morn him.
Oh, how terribly sad!
Lovely, even if a bit sad.

I wrote thisafter reading DH. I was so mad. But this is what I thought Minerva would have done. He should never have died. Thanks for reading & reviewing.
Sweet. :)
Such a bittersweet glimpse into the aftermath of war and the endurance of love. Nicely done.

Thank you. I always thought these two had history we were not allowed to see. It seemed fitting that she should be the one to make his final arrangements.
Beautiful. Poignant. Love it that it is Minerva taking care of the deceased Alastor's belongings... and in so few words, so much passion, loss and love!
Response from kyriaofdelphi (Author of Saying Goodbye)
I always thought those two belonged together. This was what I thought she must have felt. Thanks.
Very sad, but something I can see, very easily. I adore Alastor - and Minerva for that matter - and after J.K. killed off Dumbledore - I didn't think it could get worse... until I read the first two chapters of book 7... I was furious.Thank you for giving him a wonderful tribute in send off.

We were all devastated in those first two chapters. I adore Moody and Minerva together. This just seemed the thing to write.Thanks.
Response from Fishy (Reviewer)
The do make a good pair - I tend to prefer her with Dumbledore - but Alastor is a definate second and easy to see - he'd be 'smart' enough for her, I'm sure - and their personalities are similar in some ways and different in others and I think they could be compatible.
Beautiful.

This is old. I had it posted here several years ago and pulled it for some reason. I love Moody and Minerva together and this seemed fitting. Thanks.
Achingly sad, but beautiful just the same.

I was devastated when JKR killed him off. This was what came from it. Thanks.
Beautiful moment during what must have been an awful time.

I was livid when he was killed off. But this made it a bit beter. Thanks.
So so sad.

I was so mad when I wrote it. Heck, I think I wrote it just after book 7 came out. Thanks
Oh so sad! I like the idea of these two having a secret past.
