Reviews for A Peevish Realization
Very interesting subject, with a wide open expanse to toy with - and I enjoyed your story but I have to admit, it was quite confusing in some areas and I had to reread it a few times to understand.Still don't understand how Gilderoy overcame his own Obliviate and became sane or what the Pygmy Puffs had to do with Peeves... huh.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
Thank you for your thoughtful review! I suppose one does need to take a couple of leaps to make this work. To begin with. Gilderoy was well enough to revert to at least a part of his personality while at the hospital... but what if he just decided to play along with what the staff seemed to expect? He was pretty cunning in his foolish way. Part of the trick of the Ridikulus spell is that one imagines something foolish for the magical being to turn into. Gilderoy happened upon the Pygmy Puffs because the real ones had just been covered in bubblegum. At least as I see it.
Response from Fishy (Reviewer)
Oh ho! Well, that sneaky git - Gilderoy that is - ahhh, bubblegum puffs! *grins*Thank you for explaining. Sometimes I need a map to get to the restroom - I must admit, its sad!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
I hear you on needing explanations for things. ;)
come, admit it , the "Ridiculus" was the only curse, charm, spell dear Lockhart ever managed to remember. And it just came across him to give it a try.ha!Well, not that we are unhappy about it.Him being a helping hand is more than rare.So let it be his day! " he was released on the nigth of the final battle"lolbest time to release him, when the worst is over, and he can do no further damage.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
LOL, well he did manage to accomplish a great deal with an Oblivate that backfired because Ron's wand was broken. I think Lockhart seems the type to master two, maybe three spells, and fake the rest. However, yes, when it comes to ridiculous creatures, our boy Gilderoy seemed the best choice to deal with him. ;)Thank you for the great review!
So Lockhart is good for something after all. Good to know, but somehow I still don't think he'll be initiated into the Order any time soon. :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
No, I think you're right about that. In fact, he may be farther from the Order than ever! Thank you for the review!
Oh, Lockhart saves the day :) Cute.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
LOL... yeah, but can you think of a better man to deal with the likes of Peeves? Thank you for the review!
LOL. Very cute!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
Thank you! I'm glad you think so!
Lockhart was for real? Oh, my? *swoons* :D
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
LOL, probably not completely for real, but let's say that there were one or two things he knew well besides the Obliviate spell. Thank you for the review!
Gilderoy Lockhart, poltergeist buster? Too funny!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
LOL... it just seemed to fit... Thank you for the review!
How in the world did Lockhart know that??? NO! Don't tell me, I don't want to know! Great story!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
Well, he ran into a poltergeist in... never mind, LOL! Thank you for the review!
Lovely. Just goes to show that if you keep something useless for long enough, it'll do somerthing... well, useful.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
LOL... Yes, Lockhart has his uses... I think. At least when it comes to poltergeists. Thank you for the review!
Oh, that is too funny. I love that.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!
Ha-ha-ha. This was nice! Clever and finally showing how poor Lockhard could have researched his earlier books. He has tiny skills, but they come in handy. Very nice.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
Thank you! Exactly! One or two spells that he managed to use to fake his way through the rest!
Lockhart? There's a surprise! I'll agree with the three of them - that he actually knew anything? "The possibilities were too disturbing to consider."
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
LOL... What else was he holding out about? Will his new book be Problems with Poltergeists? We're probably be better off no knowing. Thank you for the review.
Great twist! I love that Gllderoy was the one who knew what to do :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
Thank you! I like to think he has one or two spells he can use well.
Oh, I *love* the idea that Helena and the Baron were able to find peace. ~happy sigh~ And Gilderoy having the solution? ~dies~
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
Thank you for the review! Yeah, since Helena couldn't face her mother over the tiara but now there's closure on that end of things... Meanwhile, I think a wizard who can cast that Obliviate using a broken wand actually might know one or two (and only one or two) things.
Well, that is VERY unsettling O.o
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
LOL, yes, it's pretty odd. Thank you for the review!
Bubblegum on the puffs, oh poor things! Love for Gilderoy knowing what to do.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
Yeah, those poor Pygmy Puffs can't have been a pretty sight. Thank you for the review!
Nice twist, having Gilderoy actually be the competent one for once!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
I like to think he knew one or two spells that he used to get himself out of tight fixes. Thank you for the review!
OMG - love this! Love all of the intricate canon being interwoven in and out - wonderful! And Lockhart (?) - surprise, surprise!! Great twist!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
I love trying to think of things that might be true in canon. Lockhart just seemed the perfect wizard to solve this sort of problem. Thank you!
Great story
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it.
So Lockhart finally did something right? Peeves won't go down without a fight, though. Nice job!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
Thank you! I think Lockhark knew a few spells and faked the rest.
I think I may have nightmares just considering it.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
LOL... not exactly an attractive "pairing," is it? Thanks for the review!
Oh! What a wonderful twist! I love the idea of Peeves on the loose, but Lockhart to the rescue?! Excellent!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
Thank you so much! Lockhart just seemed the best man to deal with the ridiculousness that's Peeves...
Lockhart looms large in poltergeist capture. Very nice.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Peevish Realization)
Thank you! He just seemed the best man for this particular job, LOL.
