Reviews for A Question Worth Answering
I like this: it gives an adult view of two characters we've only seen through the eyes of kids in canon. Thanks!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Thank you!
A lyrical, gorgeous story worth reading. Thank you

Thank you so much. Writing characters we don't usually gives us a chance to write a little differently than usual, I think.

Aw! It's so sweet! There's a familiarity that seems to happen when I see them together on screen. It translates even better in print, and you've done a commendable job writing it so.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Thank you very much! I think there is definitely a certain chemistry between them, too.
Karelia said that this was worth reading. My, she is a wise woman, because this little story is a gem. In narrative, it suits the two characters. It's practical first and foremost, yet their relationship builds to be overruled by mutual regard and attraction. It was beautiful.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Oh, thank you so much! I wrote it on a dare of sorts, and now I'm fond of the pairing. That happens to me a lot.
Wonderful! Its all in how you ask. I like how you used the symbolism of letting her hair down with letting her defenses down. Thank you.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Minerva's hair was the first thing I noticed when she greeted Harry's class at the door of the school. It suits the mental picture of her being someone not to mess with. Thank you so much for the review!
Ack better late than never!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Absolutely! Thank you for the review!
Oh, this is lovely...and I'm glad that he finally had the courage to take her hair down himself instead of waiting for her to do it. Then again , after spending most of a year as a prisoner of Barty Crouch Jr. (and perhaps not knowing if he'd ever see her again), he had a lot of time to think and experience regret over lost opportunity. Actually, for a Gryffindor, Minerva wasn't very courageous with regard to matters of the heart, that much is obvious.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
She was being stubborn all that time, but spent much of that same year wondering if he'd finally stopped loving her. I think they both realized they'd better go for it. Thank you so much for the review!
That was lovely. I'm sure kyria loved it.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Thank you, Blue!
Insightful character study - well done!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Thank you! I never really thought about them before, but now I love them, which is what always happens to me.
Absolutely charming. Very nicely done.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!
Touching and sweet and a lovely twist on Canon. Why is it no one who knew Moody ever noticed someone else was impersonating him for the better part of a year?! Moody/McGonagall makes me smile!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Thank you! It's a good question. Barty played his role a little too well, maybe. I have to admit Moody/McGonagall makes me smile, now, too!
Awww, that brought a tear to my eye. So sweet and sad, especially knowing what canon brings to Alastor. Very lovely, Rose.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Thank you very much! It is too bad about his canon future.
Love it! So perfectly Minerva and Moody
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Thank you! It's how I see them, too.
I love this, it's beautiful and tender!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Thank you so much!
That was lovely, Rosie. :D
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Thank you, my dear!
Oh how utterly utterly sweet! And typical of the man that he just doesn't see...
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
... and typical of that woman that she doesn't want to explain it, LOL! Thank you so much for the review!
GUH. You've pulled some pretty amazing stuff on here, but this beats all. I can't believe you just whipped it up like that! *applauds wildly*
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
You're making me blush! Thank you!
This is breathtakingly beautiful, Rose. It made me laugh and cry. Thank you.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Aw... thank you for the review, and for having me look at characters I don't think about much.
Response from kyriaofdelphi (Reviewer)
Always ready to help broaden your horizons, dear. Loved what you did with my second fave pairing.

Awwww. What an unexpected pairing, and how beautifully done.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Thank you! They were unexpected for me, too.
So sweet!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Thank you! Kyria turned me on to this pairing and I really warmed up to them.
What a wonderfully straightforward and evocative opening line! This is such a lovely read, a look at people who want certain things in no uncertain measure, but who can't bring themselves to risk anything - he can't ask her to defy her family, she can't 'loosen her hair' for him. But years apart and alone finally change all that! (It's like Persuasion in miniature.) Well done!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Oh! You're right about Persuasion! How funny I didn't see that when it's my favorite Austen novel. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!.
Response from ofankoma (Reviewer)
Actually, have you read JKR's additional material on McGonagall at Pottermore? There's quite a lot to her story (and a three-year marriage) that we never knew before...
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
I hadn't yet seen that when I wrote this, so this is now AU, I guess. ;) I've been thinking about adding a note about that.
Response from ofankoma (Reviewer)
Gosh, I wouldn't worry about it... after all, everyone would have to put notes on just about everything once the Pottermore material comes out. I just find it amazing that you read JKR's mind, so to speak, with a three-year romance late in life ending tragically with his early passing. I mean... really, what are the odds? Of course, you could put the note on to share your clairvoyance with all who will come across this in the future! ;)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
LOL! You're absolutely right. Thank you, once again. I've enjoyed the conversation!
Wonderful. So sweet. And so complete in so few words. Just marvelous.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it.
What a nice story! I love when I take a chance reading about characters that I don't usually read, and stumble across a gem.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of A Question Worth Answering)
Thank you for the review! It's not a pairing I usually think about, but our dear Kyria of Delphi requested it and I couldn't say no.
