I'm a freelancing Yank who lives in the Midwest with her husband, three cats, and two dogs.
I'm a dabbler by nature. Jack of all trades, master of none. I write, run, swim, garden, quilt, bake, and so on.
Reviews for The Lost Chamber
What an interesting story! Very curious about these runes. Is Hermione's expertise as an Unspeakable in Runes, then? Or something else? (Or I missed something...)
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
It seems it's one of her areas of expertise. Alas, I don't have a high enough Ministry security clearance to learn the others. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. Thanks for reviewing!
Another great chapter, you really got me hooked with this story! I´ll be waiting for an update!
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for reviewing!
A very intriguing beginning! Very mysterious... what is this room? What happened to Scorpius?
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Thanks! I hope you found the rest just as intriguing. :D
Merci beaucoup pour cet air de mystère... J'espère que ce scénario trouvera une fin !
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Du rien! Merci beaucoup pour le response!
Love Harry's translation of Snapese and Hermione's reactions. Lots of subtle building of interest between the two. Can't wait for more. Thanks!
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Thank you so much. Harry's translations were fun to write. Thanks for reviewing!
And that's why the RoR doesn't work anymore, right? They interrupted the runes when they built the new wall. ^_^
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
That's it exactly. Break the runes, break the room. Thanks for reviewing!
This chapter was fabulous. I found myself giggling like a crazy person more than once. I particularly love the "Snapish" translation and the idea of the competition for finding students out of bounds.Looking forward to more :)
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Thanks so very much! I'm glad I could make you giggle. :D :D :D
The mystery thickens...will there be any connection between the chamber that Hermione is studying and the other important Hogwarts chambers (Room of Requirement and Chamber of Secrets)? Also, while Severus' encouragement for Hermione to invite Rose and Hugo for Sunday tea sounds nice on the surface, he is a Slytherin--he's probably hoping that the kids will let something slip about what happened to Scorpius to the mother over the private and relaxed setting of tea.Loved, loved, loved the Snapish/English translations! Harry should write a phrasebook.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Thank you so very much for the lovely review. And who knows what Snape's motivations are... perhaps the kids will let something slip... or perhaps he's simply trying to make her stay more pleasant for his own ulterior motives. :) Or more likely both. (with another two or three motives thrown in for good measure)
Did he put a sleeping potion in her coffee? Still, I'm glad she is getting some rest; a wall of intersecting lines of runes sounds like a horrendous task. I'm also glad she appreciates Snape's ability to kill at least three birds with one stone; I've always admired that about him. Thanks for the new chapter!
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Snape would NEVER put Sleeping Potion in her coffee. He'd have Mosey do it! The runes do sound like a nightmare, don't they? *shudders* Thanks for the lovely review, June.
So, sadly, Ron has departed this world. I guess we'll find out what killed him later on if it is relevant. But what an intriguing beginning. I like the way Snape and Hermione interact. It seems very natural. My son is about the age of Hugo in this story. He has outgrown me and his voice is deep and getting deeper. The cracking is so funny sometimes. And he constantly remindes me to trust him. I must have faith that I raised him right. He has never given me a reason to doubt him before.I can relate to a lot here. I can hardly wait for more.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Thanks so very much for this wonderful review. I'm thrilled that the story is resonating with you, and I hope the relationships between Hermione and her children continue to click for you. The next chapter should be up shortly.
great start, glad to know the story is finished and that you will give us updates often. Can't wait to see where this will go
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Thanks so much! The next chapter will post today.
How fascinating... great story
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Thank you!
Interesting beginning! I look forward to more.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Thanks! Another chapter will post shortly!
Wow, I really want to read more! Cool way to work in the new generation.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Thanks so much! I'm enjoying both reading and writing the new generation these days, especially interactions with their parents.
She wouldn't ask her kids for a Pensieve memory? Will she visit Scorpius herself? And will Hermione tell us what the runes say? I wonder if Rose has a crush on Scorpius, 'cos that woud be embarrassing for a young girl. Thanks for the new story, and I'm buckling in for the ride.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
:D So many questions! Well, perhaps another chapter today will provide some answers?
Very interesting premise. I'm eager to read more. I also like your portrayal of Hermoine in the this story. Vulnerable and a bit off her pins. Do continue!
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Thank you so very much. I put a lot of consideration into Hermione's characterization for this story, and I'm glad to hear that it's resonating with people.
I am intrigued. please continue.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
story is complete. imll be posting every three days or so.
i searched specifically for rose as she's one of my fav characters and found this totally new story and wonderfully skilled author!! i do prefer the explanation that the castle will repair the runes on the fireplace rather than it being permanently gone though. i would rate u higher than perfect if not for that!
Wow, what a story! It had a bit of everything to keep us, the readers, entertained from the beginning till the end! Loved it so much. Thank you!
I love how you flipped the prejudices over w/ GG's runes--and how you made Scorpius & Severus 'horny'. ;)
I've just finished reading this story. I enjoyed it so very much. The plot was so creative and plausible! I'm off to read some of your other stories now. Thank you!
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I hope you enjoy the rest of my stories. :)
Hope that stone wasn't important:). How ironic that the chamber was Gryffindors. That might help balance out some perceptions. I really enjoyed this very original story and of course loved the ending for both couples. Thank you.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Thanks so much for your review! And... I'm sure that stone wasn't important at all, nope. Certainly not critical to, you know, castle wards or anything. :)
LOL. That was really fun!
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Oooh, this is sooo good. I think I might have a clue now. I can't wait to see how this plays out. I was wondering if Scorpius might be better acquainted with Rose than anyone knew.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Lost Chamber)
Thank you so very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the story, Thank you so much (again) for reviewing!
