Care of Magical Creatures recently received two awards on "Secrets of the Dark Vaults," a Russian fanfic site. Best NC-17 and Best Maxi Translation. The Nine-Year Plan was awarded Best Mini-Fic! I'm delighted to be in translation and to please the readers in Russia!

With the completion of Care of Magical Creatures my fanfic output is going to slow way down, but if you want to be sure to know when new fics post, please follow me on twitter. I don't tweet much, but I'll surely tweet that kind of thing.
About Mia
I came to the world of Harry Potter relatively early, after first resisting it because it just seemed too trendy. But when the first book came out in paperback in the US I picked it up at the airport when I was about to catch a flight, and two chapters in knew I would be ordering the original from amazon.co.uk in hardcover as soon as I landed.
I came to fanfic late, waiting until after I'd read DH. That means I've been totally obsessed with the fanfic world of Harry Potter, and most specifically the SS/HG ship, since August of '07.
I'm helplessly and hopelessly hooked.

I'm in bits!
Incredibly powerful, and you managed to do it without being at all verbose. I am really feeling for Hermione right now. And I love how you have managed to get across her feelings for Severus and the back story of how they came to this point so cleverly and concisely, without it requiring tons of exposition. Great story-telling.
Somehow the end, when Hermione gives up some of her memories reminded me of 'Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind'. I love the idea that the bad or hurtful memories can be dispelled with to allow new starts and yet we end up in the same place, with the same people regardless. I'm not giving up hope for these two, no matter how bleak it seems to be right now.

I saw Eternal Sunshine and loved it--and had forgotten all about it! Interesting connection!
Severus seems like such a vile, undeserving git. I feel there's more to it though. This is very compelling stuff and the dialogue and characterisation are superb.
Love the first chapter. Off to read more.
Holy cow. That was really intense! I'm so impressed by how you pulled it all together. Thanks for a very rewarding read.
Wow! What a strong and satisfying ending! Just lovely and inspiring. Truly one to save and come back and read time and time again.
That was beautiful, Mia. Really beautiful. Thanks for an angsty, tear jerking story that ended happily.
Wow, that was powerful. You've written such a sad tale here. I hope that however you choose to move on, that both Hermione and Severus can too.
Ah *happy, content sigh* What a wonderful ending. I loved every bit of this tale, and I'm so happy that they both came around in the end, that Severus didn't listen to her and leave. And it's so fitting that they wouldn't remarry. Wonderful story!
Whoa. Mia, you are so good. Thanks for sharing that and writing it for all of us.
And so they come to an understanding, and to hell with the Ministry! :)
Took him a while to reach enlightenment! :)
Wonderfully ended. Very poignant and succinct. Well done and thank you for sharing!
Oh fantastic. He's now realised just what he means to her.
She loves him despite it all and still has the grace to try to walk away. Fantastic depiction of Hermione!
Wow, Neville created a beautiful flower for Hermione, albeit oblivious of the hurt that the name caused her. Or perhaps that was the reason for the naming of that type of flower - she could be a Mum even though she couldn't physically.
Severus isn't happy even with this dissolution, is he?
This was perhaps the most beautiful, poignant story I have ever read. To be able to reach beyond his pride. To admit what he never thought he could. To ask when she never believed, never wished, never fathomed he ever would. And that's what ultimately brought them both what they wanted and needed.
I love angsty fics, and this one's a winner! I was so choked up, on the edge of my seat, so afraid that he would grant her wish and leave. I'm so glad he had the sense to see through the wall she was trying to erect to protect herself from him, from the heart-break she was afraid he would dole out yet again.
Well written emotional roller-coaster. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I like how desperately they are in love in your fics. I finished reading Care of Magical Creatures yesterday's night and maybe this is the thing that strikes me most in your writing - the strenght of their bond, the desperation with which they seek for each other.
That said, I'm prone to forget the exact rules set forth by the Marriage Law, and what exactly was intended by the Ministry when they promulgated the law.
“I did what anybody—”
“Nobody.”
“—would have done.”
“And have paid dearly for it.”
Ah, fantastic. It's nice to see Lucius standing up for her in his own way. Interesting tidbit about the tracer. It was a played show of trust to him on her behalf.
Beatifully written. You can feel how she's throwing herself into her work to avoid the state of her relationship and what it's been doing to her.
I will admit that I was totally shocked that this was complete, as I had expected several more chapters to be able to properly bring this to a close. But I'll be damned if you didn't pull this off just as it should have happened. It doesn't have a tradional happily every after ending, and yet I feel confident that they truly are happy. Their relationship is certainly stronger than it probably ever would have been if they had just tried to make it work for the best the first time around. Fantastically beautiful tale in it's entirety. I hope there is more on the horizon from you.
Utterly heart rending! I bawled through the entire pensieve! Well done! Thank you for sharing.
