Care of Magical Creatures recently received two awards on "Secrets of the Dark Vaults," a Russian fanfic site. Best NC-17 and Best Maxi Translation. The Nine-Year Plan was awarded Best Mini-Fic! I'm delighted to be in translation and to please the readers in Russia!

With the completion of Care of Magical Creatures my fanfic output is going to slow way down, but if you want to be sure to know when new fics post, please follow me on twitter. I don't tweet much, but I'll surely tweet that kind of thing.
About Mia
I came to the world of Harry Potter relatively early, after first resisting it because it just seemed too trendy. But when the first book came out in paperback in the US I picked it up at the airport when I was about to catch a flight, and two chapters in knew I would be ordering the original from amazon.co.uk in hardcover as soon as I landed.
I came to fanfic late, waiting until after I'd read DH. That means I've been totally obsessed with the fanfic world of Harry Potter, and most specifically the SS/HG ship, since August of '07.
I'm helplessly and hopelessly hooked.

this is a great story. She loves him and I hope he loves her back and that they will find their way together again as two independent people
What a heart-pounding way to end the chapter! So she loved him and still does. I wonder if he knows? Would it have made any difference? Will she stay single so he can see it for himself? Now that he is free, will he find his way back to her of his own volition?
Such an unusual twist to a SS/HG tale!
Suspensefully written, well worth any waiting you make us go through.
I wonder which memories Hermione let Neville help her take out?
I love Hermione and Snape together....but not in this case. She should choose George. Sometimes it's good for the main character not to get the girl.
Can we have a chapter that says 'Severus' ?? hehe things might be looking up then.
So she and Severus are done. What an odd way to begin a SS/HG story.
I am intrigued. I can hardly wait to see where you go with this.
Wow. I don't know that any more than that really needs to be said, but how odd it would be for me to keep my mouth shut :)
This is fantastic. It is well written (not that I expected any different)- the characters, the emotions, the drama of it all- it is just perfect. And you've made me like Lucius. That takes a bit of work.
Part of me hopes that there is an explanation for Severus' behavior, and that all will turn out ok. On the other hand, I have sort of written him off as a lost cause and like that Hermione has been approached by two eligible bachelors who are clearly interested. I also like that she isn't so desperate to get out of her situation that she mindlessly jumped at either offer, but she also gave each of them some thought, and maybe will do so even more once she is officially free to persue other interests.
I hope more is coming soon as I am interested to see who comes a knocking next.
I love what you are doing here, with these encounters. It could have become funny very easily, with man after man throwing himself at Hermione, with Hermione stuck in the middle stomping one foot and fuming at the misogyny of it all, but it hasn't. This interaction with Lucius was interesting, and intense. Instead of pure sexual energy, the memories that they share are... almost as present as the people themselves. Maybe more so. This is very well-written, well above the normal caliber of fanfiction that we see even here, which is a pretty classy joint in terms of fanfic websites. I am very impressed.
Wow! What a bleak beginning! In this story it appears that Snape = Snake. How distressing! I can only imagine how this will all pan out. Will they still be together? Will he see the error of his ways when she is free? That of all the women who crave his company, she is the only one with pure intentions? Or will this be a different kind of story where Snape is sinister to the core and gets what he deserves?
Lucius was very charming. And he is now single, too. Interesting. But my blood wanted to boil when Severus refered to Hermione as his "leftovers." How utterly vile of him. If all is as it appears, the others are correct, Snape doesn't deserve her.
Looking forward to reading the back story of this. :)
Hmmm he's so protective to put a tracer on her but yet he's so cold. Severus you still continue to confuse me. Look forward to more.
Severus has become horrible to her, but I want to know the circumstances before I make any comments as to how I feel about that.
Quite a strange beginning. Looking forward to reading more...
Very confusing signals from Snape. He puts a tracer on her, yet cavorts openly with other women. How very sad.
Neville is interesting in this. Strong and supportive. :)
Severus with Pansy?
Plus it did seem Severus didn't like seeing Hermione caught in the embrace with another man... maybe their marriage won't be so bad after all?
How easy it was to dive into the horrors of the past, when she was leaving the present behind.
Geez, what a sad, hopeless feeling right from the start. I mean, the law was repealed so all should be well, right? It doesn't appear that it will be that easy.
I like Snape to be a bit dark, or sarcastic, or cranky, or angsty, or any other number of seemingly negative things. Total bastard Snape ... I'll reserve judgement until I see how this plays out. Clearly there is more going on here then we know yet.
Glad to see you back with another story in the works. Hope to see an update soon.
So excited to see another fic by you and what a start. You have me completly hooked already. Can't wait for more.
Yay! Another story from MIA. I wish you'd already uploaded 18 chapters...
So here's the deal: who was it with Pansy? You write "tall, lean body of a man in elegant black" and it turns out to be George then write "tall figure in black" with Pansy and it means -- Severus? Ron? Viktor? Someone that causes Hermione distress obviously. Moreover, it seems weird to have the only descriptions of the wizards be that they are tall and wear black. Do all wizards happen to be tall and wear black? I mean, Severus shouldn't have a monopoly on black -- thanks for that but then if he doesn't you've gotta give us some better descriptors for him.
Sounds like her own personal hell. Interested to see where this goes.
The Marriage Law Terrors - lol, I like that. Never would have thought of Severus with Pansy; wonder if there is another explanation. Love Marriage Law stories and am looking forward to your opposite take on it. Thanks.
George? That's an interesting idea. :)
EVERY time I read this it never ceases to make me cry! Its complicated pain and eloquence reels me in and makes me read this over and over.
Wow, stunning! I hope you are well. Best, Kat
This was such an emotional roller-coaster. I love how you managed to get them together without compromising his Snapeyness. I do find that it is hard to make him seem like Snape once declarations of love have been made. I just don't see him whispering sweet nothings and enjoying romantic evenings in front of the fire. But I do see him as a passionate man and you got that across wonderfully well. Your Snape is very much how I see him. Thanks for a great read - beautifully written and with such originality.
