Through the Looking-Glass
Chapter 1 of 1
Ladymage SamikoA mirror hangs in Severus's library…
The magnificent mirror in his library is puzzling to visitors, for Severus Snape is hardly a vain man. But he doesn’t see himself in its glass. In it, he sees her.
A purposeful woman as she prepares for her day. A studious woman as she devours thick tomes. An unconsciously graceful woman as she cooks. A beautiful woman as she bathes.
He sees all, hopeless longing overtaking every remnant of his scruples.
Then he sees her despair as her heart bleeds through her tears.
Now there’s only a palm print on the pristine glass— and two figures in its reflection.

Together is better. :)
If it makes him realise how they could both be happy I can forgive him for his dirty voyeurism.
Was Severus dead or something? It's well written, but it just left me a bit confused.
Fascinating and bittersweet, though I am puzzled by the conclusion... thank you.
Response from Ladymage Samiko (Author of Through the Looking-Glass)
Thank you… I hadn't realised, initially, how open to interpretation I'd left the ending until I started getting comments. My personal view is that the final scene in the mirror impelled Severus to take that final step—through the looking-glass—to be with her.But then, I like to be an optimist when I can. (^_^)
Fabulous. I hate that this is a one-shot, it could be so much more.
