Born: in the glorious year of 1979, when Dio joined Black Sabbath and Peter Pettigrew started passing on information to the Dark Lord
Colours: black, green, silver
Passions: writing, cooking, baking, witchcraft
Obsessions: quite a few, chocolate for one (hi Lupin!), but mainly a certain Potions master and a blond DE.
When I am not writing alone, I co-write with my favourite Ravenclaw star_girl. Look for sevs_starsisters to find our stories.
Published writer since 2014. Original fiction is good fun, but I find myself returning to fan fiction every now and then
Reviews for His First
Wow, that was not what I expected.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Neither did I. Those character's haven't been following the original story line for a few chapters now. It will be interesting to see how they end all this.
Loved the scene with Dumbledore, being Dumbledore - so spot on; as well as the atmosphere and description depicted at Riddle manor - reading on!
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Glad you're reading on :-)
You are sewing together this story quite deftly with Severus' own past with Lily. Very interesting reading.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Thank you. Hope you'll like the rest once it's posted.
Well...he only has to last about twelve more hours...
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Oh, the things we can do in 12 hours ....Happy New Year!
I had hoped Halloween might mean a break for everyone. But I have read your other stories, so I'm not holdong my breath.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Hallooween isn't over yet. give me a chance ;-)Happy New Year!
This is wonderful. I find myself hoping things will get better for her, but I doubt they will.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Define "better" ;-)
Love the comparison / reflection of Severus - on his life and Nadezhda / Charles'. Regardless of their pretences, Charles and Nadezhda still care for one another/communicate... feel frustration of her being beyond any of their help, great description of her being summoned.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Glad you liked the chapter. I need to be off from work more often, so I can produce stuff like this. Will email my boss :PHappy New Year!
Response from nagandsev (Reviewer)
Morgaine_dulac, wishing you the best & have a great Happy New Year!Your boss needs to pay you overtime, days at home to support your contribution to culture & art, as well as a statue to be commissioned, etc.- all honours due to you! Again, best wishes!
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
I'll let him know :-)
what an awfull gift. Will Voldemort take Severus to Goodrich Hollow and why will he summon the girl with the unspellable name? Hopefull he wil be "dead" before he can harm any of those two.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
There is so much the Dark Lord can manage to do before Halloween is over. *rubs hands*Happy New Year to you!
This is amazingly good!
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Thank you very much! Hope you'll enjoy the rest.
Good on you Nadezhda ( where did you find this difficult to spell name?). Yes she is a clever witch.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
I needed a name that means "hope". Didn't like the Danish word too much ;-)
Brava, Nadezhda! Love how, little by little, Severus is noting and appreciating her cleverness, beyond his control it seems, as well as his growing and continuing concern for her...
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Our dear Severus isn't easily impressed, as we know. But he does have a heart of gold. (Don't tell him I said that.)
Excellent chapter! I love your portrayal of Narcissa - one must remember that she's more than Lucius' wife, she was first and always a Black and equally empowered of her own unique persona, sister to Bellatrix'; the twist on Bella's spell intended for Nadhezda on Barty, the revelation about Nadhezda and more of her past and present state of mind/emotions for poor Charles... and of course Severus' dilemma and angst!
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Why do I love it so much to give Snape a hard time? I'm such a meanie! Narcissa kind of developed a storyline of herself in this chapter. I hadn't intended her to take up so much space. I like what happened, though. Well, off to write chapter 6. Or TRY to, at least.
This story is amazing. Although, I find my heart breaking, knowing what has to come in the future.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Please, do tell my Muse what the future holds. We're kind of stuck. ;-) Glad you like the story! :-)
hm, Bellatrix was twarted in some way and I find it good that the girl is not mooning for Barty, but other problems will come out of it. Sad that she felt she had to let her lover go, but what could she do, she don't know Barty will be in jail soon and that the Dark Lord a mere shadow for many ears. Can't wait to see how you will lead their ways. I loved that Severus felt she should have gone after him and not do the same he did to Lily, but maybe this young man is more forgiving - well babling I will go out of your hair for now
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Oh, there WILL be problems, I promise
Wonderful, diabolical chapter! Each characterisation and details enhancing the atmosphere and action; the final imagery of Nadezhda and Barty is so striking, and Severus' shock of Barty's behaviour/treatment to her is so etchingly intimate; I really love your capturing these two young people in the midst of this dark tormoil!
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
*adds diabolic to list of favourite words* Glad you liked the chapter, despite it being a bit icky at certain parts! :-)
Bellatrix is evil incarnated for sure. Poor girl and poor Barty, no one deserves to be the plaything for Bellatrix. Her husband is what we in danish would call a "cottondick" Her father is a bastard, how can one sacrifice ones child with an unbreakable wow, how could he not try to talk Volde out of this and take the cruciatus he no doubt would recieve for his plea. Well if you follow canon Barty will go to Azkaban, Voldemort will be gone so for some years she will have peace (maybe), there is still her idiot father. Looking forward to see how Severus can support her. No wonder she rarely smile.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Oh, Bellatrix is an insane nutter of the worst kind. And I LOVE writing her! (Says a lot more about me than here, hehe) Duncan McKibben is a very unpleasant man indeed. I'll make sure he is punished. As for Barty and Voldy, yes, this story will be canon compliant. But remember that a lot of things can happen in very short time. Thanks for reading and commenting, my dear. Best wishes to Denmark.
Wow, that was a surprise. I thought maybe she was Imperiused, but this is quite a bit worse. It's sad and insane when people take their own convictions so seriously that it means life or death for their offspring.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Very sad indeed. And potentially dangerous. Glad you found my little story and decided to read it. I must warn you that there will be no fluffy bunnies. Chapter 3 is at my beta's, 4 is in the making :-)
That's it Dumbles, pass the buck. But hey, how else are they going to get to know one another?
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Exactly. Dumbles is a smart old wizard. Conniving, but smart.
Really, really love this story! Severus' dilemma, and Nadezhda; her filthy father having forced her to take the vow, and her dilemma, the evil that wizards do to their own kind being explored - really profound - thanks!
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Glad you like it! Trying something different here. We'll see if it works out.
OMG! What a terrible situation for Nadezhda! The poor girl. The part where Snape was going through the Death Eater atrocities was really well done. He seemed tough yet sensitive which is exactly how I think of him. How on earth is she going to get out of this one? Happy Birthday!
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Created a huge mess, didn't I? Thanks for the birthday wishes :-)
Love this time of Severus' life being portrayed - the beginning of his teaching at Hogwarts, in the midst of such a turbulent time, and the intriguing element of adding the dilemma regarding Ms McKibbon, on top of everything else going on his life; Dumbledore being Dumbledore!
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
As if poor Severus didn't have enough (personal) trouble to deal with during his first year of teaching. And there I throw in a student who needs protection. I am such a sadist ;-)
Response from nagandsev (Reviewer)
ps: Looking forward to more! If anyone knows how to give Severus more Slytherin angst, it's you
Ooh! this a great start - Lovely set up, looking forward to Snape's interaction with Miss McKibben, and his attempts to save her innocent soul. God speed your muse.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Hi! Glad you liked the first chapter. I am quite curious about what's to come myself :-)
What a terrible father Mr. McKibben must be to fit this "hangman's noose" around his daughter's neck. I hope Severus is able to do or say something that will allow Nadezhda to save herself.Beth
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Never liked McKibben. He'll get what he deserves!
I saw you had begun posting There Will Always Be Hope, and then found out it was a sequel to this story. So here I am to find out what you have in store for our favorite Potions master. It's a great start. I like stories about young!Snape, and I like it when Minerva tweaks his nose just a bit.Beth
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Hi Beth! *jumps up and down, waving* How have you been??So happy you decide to read His First. Beware: fluffy bunnies will be far and few between.
Response from braye27 (Reviewer)
*waves back to Morgaine* I've been well for the most part. A few aches and pains, but an old lady like me haz 'em from time to time. Work is insanely busy, but that's OK because the days go faster."Beware: fluffy bunnies will be far and few between." Iz prepared for angst and torment. I can't wait to find out how Severus copes with said angst and torment. You and star_girl write the best non-SSHG fanfic. Please give her my regards the next time you talk.(((hugs)))
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Star_girl says hi!
Yikes! These people stop at nothing, don't they? So very sad, the whole situation.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of His First)
Nope, they're nuts, deranges, you name it. It's indeed a very sad situation for all involved. No fluffy bunnies in this story, I'm afraid. Thanks for the shinies!
