I'm a 29-year-old from the eastern outskirts of Europe who loves reading, languages, her job and has too much time on her hands for her own good.

Awwww.
Poor Severus... I'm sad for him now. Kisses
I didn't expect the painting thing. You had me there. Good job!

Thank you :)) I had trouble thinking where to stick the portrait requirement, and this is what I had.
Awww, I wasn't expecting a portrait (I skipped the prompt at the beginning, that will teach me!). I think Hermione needs to have her portait painted, perhaps in her wedding gown (thinking of Muggle-style bridal photographs), and Portrait Hermione and Portrait Severus can be happy together!

The warning kinds of spoils it ;) I'm glad you liked it, thank you for reading!
Lovely, and sad, but lovely nonetheless.

Thank you very much for reading it.
Just wonderful! The sarcasm is sooo Snape, Hermione is sweet, tender, intelligent and innovative. They are such a perfect match that the end is obviously bittersweet and tragic. I did realize it was a portrait from the start, but probably only because I read the prompt at the beginning.

I can see him giving her advice, even if she didn't want it. :)

He's totally like that, isn't he ;)Thank you for reading, Sunny33!
Interesting. Very interesting, but different. (to paraphrase Arte Johnson) ^_^

Thanks! Especially about the 'different' part ;) I like different!
This is brilliantly written. I didn't realize until the very end that Severus was dead and that it was his portrait that Hermione was talking to. Very clever, you are. As he watched her "with eyes like a shithouse rat" I could see it perfectly in my mind's eye. When she was "gently smoothing a sponge over his frame" I assumed he was in St Mungo's after the war and she was taking care of him. It was quite a shock to realize later on that he was a portrait. And very sad that no one other than Hermione wanted him. He deserved so much more. You're a very, very good writer!!!!!!!!Beth

Aww, Beth. Thank you for this very, very much. This is very encouraging to hear! I'm glad it went exactly the way I intended it to - so that the reader 'gets' that Snap is actually a portrait at the very end. Cheers!w.
I think this is one of the most tragic things I've ever read. Well done!
