Reviews for Seven Brides For Seven Snapes
This was so sweet and funny, I don't know why have never seen this story before, but am very glad I found it.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Thank you! I'm glad you did, too!
A lovely and rambunctious story, though I wished that Severus got a better dressing down than what he got. What he did was really deplorable....Thank you very much!
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Thank you for enjoying the story!Yes, it was deplorable, but firstly I was working with the model of the film story, and secondly, I thought it might be interesting to write him as a character who really isn't changed/redeemed through love and yet remains somewhat likeable. As far as consequences are concerned, I think young Livia might have a few in preparation. ;-)
Is this really over? I wish there would be an epilogue. Please. Anyway it was a wonderful story. I love every single one of the Snapes.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Hee! Yes it is, I'm afraid!Thank you for reading and enjoying my story. I love all the Snapes too - I had such fun writing them.
As I said a stubborn imbecile. And to think he was miserable on his own for months because of stupid pride. He better drovel a lot to get forgiven.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Stubborn is the word - yes. Silly man.Thank you for your comment!
I wonder what Sev's reaction will be when he heard the news. I'm sure she'll regret her peace.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
You think she'll be sorry to have him back?
I do hope that a few nights in a cold bed will help him see reason. But knowing his stubborn self I fear for their future.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Yes, far too stubborn. But he may still learn.
Oh my! Are they really ready? I fear that not everything will turn right at the ball.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Watch and find out...
I am very proud of those Snapes. They really managed to behave for Hermione's sake. She has good influence over them.
And Sev' should have been more concentrated on the game. I hope he isn't too badly hurt.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
I'm proud of them too! All they needed was a big sister.
ROFL! And she's supposed to find them each a girl? Poor Hermione!
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Ah, but she is a resourceful Gryffindor and will rise to the task!
I'm surprised she is so forgiving. Of course it's her wedding night. But that girl can be so Slytherin sometimes that I'm tremblin.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
LOL! It's Severus who ought to be trembling, methinks!
I don't know if she should make Sev regret his decision. Afterall she didn't expect to spend her days reading and that's all. And being the Slytherin he is she should have carefully considered the questio.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Perhaps she has been a bit naive, yes - but when you've been awash with Weasleys for years, the urge to escape is strong!
*Squee* I love love love it! And knowing Severus I'm sure he has other demands in store for her... And as I haven't seen the film this is based upon I can only guess.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Thank you!(And you really ought to try to see the film - it's wonderful.)
Wow! Not only a new story but eleven chapters in one go! And the first one is so exciting. I can't wait to read the next one.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
I know you have enjoyed it, because I'm answering reviews in reverse order, but thank you for your glee and anticipation here at the beginning!
Nope> I would have left him, the bloody arse! 30 weeks or so without any word from him? He doesn't deserve her, and that's preposterously abusive, that is.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Well, I'm sorry you didn't like the ending very much - though I thank you for reading through to the end. This was always going to be a tricky one to write, transposing a musical written in the fifties and set in the eighteen-fifties to a modern-day HP universe, sensibilities and mores having changed so much. I hope that you won't be discouraged from reading my other stories - they're somewhat more politically correct.
Response from Severus49 (Reviewer)
You are welcome; It was a very well written story, tho I was dissapointed with the ending. I can understand your difficulty writing this, and I do appreciate your effort. I'm also glad you didn't take my anger personally. It in now way affects you as a writer or person, I do however like and appreciate blowing off a little steam in the form of a review! LOL! I do hope you understand. My feelings for the other brothers is that they all came across like darling versions of the original. Kind of like the story Army of Snapes, if you've ever read that one. I will gladly give your other stories a chance! I'm always looking out for new reads. I like to read about twenty stories a week, so something new and different is always appreciated!
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
I've seen that you have been reading my other stories - thank you! With regard to Seven Brides, I thought it would be an interesting exercise to write a Severus who basically doesn't change - who, although he may learn something along the way, is *not* transformed by love, as he is in so many stories. Hermione in this story fell in love with Severus as he was, warts and all, not with what she thought she could turn him into. And I hope there were sufficient hints along the way that Severus genuinely loves her, even though he's an idiot in some respects.I'm glad you liked his brothers. I did, too!I certainly feel that if my tale touched a nerve with you, then it succeeded - perhaps not as I intended in your case(!) - because you were genuinely involved with the characters and what was happening to them. However, I would like (and I hope you won't think I am being patronising because this is not my intent) to just add that although most writers appreciate a genuine, visceral response to their stories such as you gave to mine, it's always worth sugaring the pill a little bit.
Amazing story through and through. I really enjoy your style very much. And seven Snapes? It was really funny and well written.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Thank you very much!
Aww. Sweet ending. Loved Arthur. :)
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Thank you!
Did Severus not realise they couldn't get messages through and has been sulking all this time because he didn't get one?
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Exactly that - yes.
I love the stroppy elves. :)
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Hee! Thanks!
Poor old Sev, never does a thing right... :)
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Entirely too convinced of his own rightness.
Can just see the look on Narcissa's face when they all turned up. :)
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Hee! Me too!
"where he expected Hermione – a sensible young woman – would have got over her temper tantrum and be waiting for him in his bed, wearing something flimsy, and welcoming him with open arms."
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
I'm happy this amused you!
I swear that this time I am going to keep all the brothers straight in my head and not confuse them with similiar named elves.
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
*laughs*

Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
*laughs*
But is the world ready for them? :)
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
Nope!
It might have been helpful to mention the bucket load of brothers occupying the Jacobean manor. Then again that would have taken away the surprise wouldnt it?
Response from richardgloucester (Author of Seven Brides For Seven Snapes)
And it's such a NICE surprise...
