Ah, thank you. Yes, I know there was definitely some bitter mixed in there. I seem to like brewing it that way, best, lol. I'm glad you enjoyed.
Missed this on LJ, but so glad I found it here. Your words move me once more, cc. At 5K I cannot call this spare, but your style is lean, no superfluous words, and yet it packs so much meaning and beauty. Recovery is a sometimes slow and painful experience, and you've captured the hope and despair of the process so well. And the happy ending is always a bonus. Bravo!

That was... so poignant, so beautiful... Very powerful and moved me to the brink of tears. You are a supremely talented writer; the style of your writing in this piece was perfect. It was just like Severus' voice: no clutter of unecessary descriptions, each sentence reading as though you were transcribing his innermost thoughts. Short, yet commanding, dramatic, and infinitely compelling. Thank you for this story.
