Hello all, I am a 53 year old from NZ. Although SSHG is how I started and still my main pairing, I'll give pretty much any pairing a try, whether it be reading or writing. Sev and Herms need a bit of variety at times. ;)

That one could be a bit tricky! :)
Too funny! ITA that Sev probably was brought up with what we here in America over 40 years of age term "AM Rock" such as Fleetwood Mac, BeeGees, ABBA, Elton John and the Eagles among others. I personally also see him listening to Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd as well (can't you just see him zapping away at those flies in his room as a teenager listening to 'hello... is anybody out there?') I think the symphonies came along MUCH LATER, probably at Hogwarts itself. After all being around Pureblood society and smoking after dinner cigars and drinking brandy out of snifters at parites will bring out the long hair in any male. In all honesty though, I think I'll chose to fantasize about him to Depeche Mode!

You just had to be there, didn't you? That music was cool then! Still is, a lot of it. :)
This brought a smile to my face, sunny. I'm fond of the Bee Gees as well. What a great excuse to bring our favorite couple together once again. Thanks for writing.

Thank you. :)
Oh, very very clever. This made me smile.

Thanks, Merrin! :)
Oh, sweet! I've never associated Severus with any pop culture, but the way you put it... Thanks for the nod, too!

You're welcome. Thanks for the review! :)
I don't mind Snape boogying, just don't make him wear a shiny, flared disco suit
Response from sunny33 (Author of How Do You Mend a Broken Heart?)
No, he'd do it in a grotty old Tshirt and jeans tucked away in hios bedroom where no-one could see him. :)
Yay for ladies of a certain age I say (I happen to know you and I are the same age!) I still listen to Saturday Night Fever if I get the chance - and why not?! I can't quite imagine Snape in the old white John Travolta suit but, then again ... ! :-)
Response from sunny33 (Author of How Do You Mend a Broken Heart?)
Something about those Saturday Night Fever tracks just makes you want to break out into a boogie, doesn't it? I also love the softer early tracks. :)
The BeeGees and Snape ... mmmmm ... Snape and BeeGees ... yummm ...The BeeGees never did get the credit they deserved for their lush, tight harmonies. I loved them when I was a kid, and still do. This was charming. Thanks for writing!

Thank you for your review. :)
You know - the funniest thing happened while I was reading your story. I found that the voice I heard in my head was sone I hadn't heard in a while. I knew an old woman, back in New Orleans, who had the most beautiful and interesting way of speaking. It was a patoi of several different languages and dialects - mostly from the poor parts of town. Anyway - she was telling me this wonderful story about a poor boy who makes good, after making some very wrong and difficult discisions along the way. It was an errie feeling - but one that was nice, as well. Thanks! Sara

That does sound eerie! I'm pleased you could really feel the story though. :D

Cute! :o)))
Author's Response: Thank you :)
It makes sense that he likes the BeeGees considering where he grew up, but it's hard to imagine him doing so. Anyway it was nice to see him happy at last.
Response from sunny33 (Author of How Do You Mend a Broken Heart?)
I see him more as a punk rocker or heavy metal myself. :)
I really enjoyed that.
Response from sunny33 (Author of How Do You Mend a Broken Heart?)
Thanks, blue. :)
I remember, as a teenager, sitting in the dark listening to Spirits Having Flown over and over (I guess that dates me).The Bee Gees are a fantastic group and much maligned for no good reason.I'm glad you picked them for your story.
Response from sunny33 (Author of How Do You Mend a Broken Heart?)
I still have the original LP versions of Saturday Night Fever and Spirits Having Flown, so I guess that dates me too! :)

EEeeewww!
Somehow, this pairing continues to mystify me, but even Humbert Humbert was twistedly fond of nymphets.
Good work!
Author's Response: Hehe. Thanks for reading. Maybe one day we SSHG shippers will demystify you! :D
Good point about his musical tastes. Makes a change to the usual (and more incorrect) assumptions about classical music - how many lower class kids ever get to hear it, let alone appreciate it? I was brought up lower middle class (ie higher than Snape but still low) and my only exposure to classical music was through the scores of Tom and Jerry cartoons. (Sad? Not that much. Just the way it is.) Anyway, that was a Brilliant Idea (must I add the TM?) and executed with your usual high level of competence
Response from sunny33 (Author of How Do You Mend a Broken Heart?)
LOL. We have the Tom and Jerry video where the mouse plays Mozart. Thanks for the review! :)
omg, this had me laughing! Brilliant stuff!! Thank you! After the day I had, just the tonic!
Response from sunny33 (Author of How Do You Mend a Broken Heart?)
Thanks! :)
Brilliant, sunny! I read this story once, and then began to listening to these Bee Gees' tracks while I read it over again, and then again. I can totally see Severus being a Bee Gees fan. I've always thought they were one of the most talented groups ever, and their ballads and other songs always bring back good memories.Thank you for writing and sharing this with us. I'm still all smiley and sappy and singing in my head! *sigh*Beth
Response from sunny33 (Author of How Do You Mend a Broken Heart?)
Hehe. Sunny's fluff strikes again! :)
I love the BeeGee's, too.
Response from sunny33 (Author of How Do You Mend a Broken Heart?)
Me too. :)
Thank you! Finally somebody who remembers the era when Snape was a teen! I was born the same year as our beloved Potions Professor and I can't see him enjoying older, or younger music. He was from the 70s folks and the Brothers Gibb ruled!
Response from sunny33 (Author of How Do You Mend a Broken Heart?)
Absolutely! :D
