Reviews for A Momentary Madness
Very cute. You did a wonderful job demonstrating how easy their friendship was. The conversation flow was so smooth. That's just what I noticed the most.
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :-)
*cries again* Could this be any sweeter? Any more humerous Dumbles? Anymore tender between the two of them? And could it be any steamier? NO, you say? Well - glad we agree on that! Now I MUST get some sleep - tomorrow is a long day ... *dozes remembering some delicious madness*
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
I'm very glad that you enjoyed the humor, the steam, and the sweetness! :-) Thanks!

Did I ever mention how amazing this is? NO? Really? *feigns shock*Then I shall say it here... clearly... so you don't misunderstand.... this is AMAZING. Simple, revealing, encompassing, truthful to the characters, and so very, very, tender... and I love how they admit they've each been in love with each other for years - and how they are both laughing at the other... and how Albus is just a bit timid - asking if she'll break his heart, when she's actually worried he might - as he's teased her in the past - its just so very endearing... Now, enough of all that.OK - I'll turn back into the crusty, gruff fish that you know so well and stop being such a mush. *winks*
Response from Fishy (Reviewer)
I lied.*snip*“Not for a long time, but I’m very comfortable right here, right now, with you, my dearest,” Albus said. He yawned and Summoned his watch from the pile of robes on the floor. “Mmm. It is, however, almost three in the morning. Shall I stay?”“Of course you will stay. Unless you have some very good reason not to,” Minerva replied, holding him a bit more tightly, “I would like you to stay.”Albus shook his head. “My deputy knows where to find me if she needs to. She’s a very clever witch, you know. And quite attractive, too. She’s probably got several wizards pining for her at any given moment.”Minerva smiled and shook her head.“I know for a certain fact, however,” Albus continued, looking quite innocent, “that there is one wizard who is no longer pining. He’s recently become the very fortunate recipient of the lady’s favours.”“Hush, Albus. Silly wizard!”“Yes, a silly wizard was he. Didn’t think she was interested in him, and he probably could have been a fortunate wizard much sooner if he hadn’t been so silly. But, of course, he’s a very modest wizard—”Minerva slapped his arm playfully. “Don’t make fun, Albus,” she said, though her eyes sparkled. “I happen to know the wizard in question, and I won’t have it.”Albus chuckled. “Very well, my dear. But truly, you must leave many a suitor weeping in your wake.”Now Minerva laughed. “Never.”*snip*I BLOODY LOVE THAT! That is all.

gets grumpy, a dose of fluff will make her mushy? Must make note-to-self about that! I'm glad you enjoyed that little exchange. They do very much enjoy each other, and that includes a bit of mutual teasing of various sorts. Thanks for the review!
Response from Fishy (Reviewer)
*snip*“And what of Madoc?”Minerva was quiet for a moment. “What of Madoc?” she asked him.“I am sure he was weeping in your wake.”“I don’t think this is the best time to be speaking of Madoc,” Minerva said.“You never speak of him. There would be no good time to speak of him, if you had your way, Minerva. You wouldn’t talk about it at the time, and even when I asked you something innocuous about him a few months ago, you changed the subject very adroitly.”“What is there to say?”“You never said why you broke off your engagement to him, other than something about his ‘suitability.’ And from what I have gathered from Evander, you never really even explained it to to his brother. He seemed a good man.”“Of course he is,” Minerva said softly. “I didn’t wish to hurt him. There was nothing I could tell him that wouldn’t have made it all worse. His heart was already broken. Nothing I could have said would have helped that.”“So . . . will you break my heart?”Minerva shook her head. “You may break mine, though,” she whispered. “And that is why there was nothing I could tell him. How do you tell a man that whenever you are with him, no matter what it is you are doing, there is another with whom you would prefer to be? I wasn’t in love with you then . . . not yet. But I could not marry a wizard when I would rather play chess with another man than make love to the one whom I was engaged to. To prefer to sit in the company of another, to rather do nothing with another than to do anything with him . . .” Minerva sighed. “And that realisation is what brought me to my moment of madness the other night.”Albus looked at her, trying to comprehend what she had said. “But . . . that was more than three years ago.”Minerva shrugged. “Moments of madness have their own time, you know. You can’t schedule them, more’s the pity.”And that, I love that! LOVE it - epecially - more's the pity! Now forever, if I hear that phrase, I'm thinking of Minerva! HAHA!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Hear "more's the pity," think of Minerva, think of moments of madness . . . maybe it could be a cure for a gray day? I'm glad you love it! (It really can be fun to see bits of the story through your eyes!)Thanks!
Response from Fishy (Reviewer)
*winks* Through my eyes it must look quite extrordinary!
*snip*Pomona was glad to see Minerva at her door, so much so that she put her arms around Minerva and gave her a hug. Minerva was not a hugger, but she patted Pomona’s back and tried not to stiffen up too much.LOLA wistful chapter.... anxiety, wondering, hoping, waiting.... and alas.... no Albus... I know what that feels like.
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Yes, Minerva's not a hugger -- unless it's with Albus, of course! Then it's full-on, whole body hugging time! ;-)The waiting and hoping leads to a lovely reuniting!
*snip*“Mrrrorrrww!” Minerva complained, dancing about at Albus’s feet.Tee hee...I also love Albus' claim that walking with her is the highlight of her day and that he looks forward to spending time with her daily... or the highlight of each of his days is spending time with her, or what ever it was he said - I liked it.
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Glad you liked that assertion!Minerva really was quite the feline there! Thanks!
Now (almost midnight) I finally read your wonderful story! Thank you so much for telling me about it! It's really good! Even better than the other one! Will you write a sequel about Minerva meeting Albus' mother? That would be very interesting I think ... even if it wouldn't be that romantic ... ;-) But pretty funny ... THXGod bless you!Thara
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Thank you, Thara! I thought it might be to your taste. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have considered a sequel, but I'm in the middle of so many writing projects right now, I don't think my brain could accomodate another one! LOL! But maybe someday. Thanks very much for your review.
Squeeeeeeeee! Oh, how I love this. You know, I noticed how Albus didn't worry over his weight on Minerva after they made love, where RAM-Albus always did until Minerva told him she loved the feel of him on top of her. The subtle differences are so endearing.I also really love the banter between then after their lovemaking. It just seems so natural. Thank you for this!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
You're very welcome! I'm glad that you enjoyed it!This is a kind of AU RaM!Albus -- what would have happened if he hadn't married Dervilia, but had instead searched for and found his father after leaving Hogwarts rather than marrying and beginning an apprenticeship, and a few other key differences -- including that although he does meet and study with Nyima, and he lives beside Mother Dragon, Mother Dragon survived the attack by the bandits, so no mated wands, either. A few subtle differences in the events in his life made a difference in the way he turned out to be. And obviously, this version never dreamed of becoming involved with Valerianna! LOL! It was really fun to explore this Albus and Minerva and their relationship, so I'm glad you enjoyed it.I'm glad that you liked the banter between them! Thanks for the reviews! I appreciate them! ('Cause you love dragons! ;-))
Aww, I have some complicated feelings for Minerva here. I am glad he sent her the enchanted music box, it sounds wonderful. But I am also sad for Minerva, missing him so after a long night and groggy morning.Though I imagine he is missing her. It is evident that he is definitely thinking about her when she isn't around if the music box made him decide to purchase it just for her. =o)
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
I'm sure he is missing her! And obviously thinking of her!I'm glad you liked the enchanted box! :-)Thank you for the lovely review!
Nooooooooo, not later, now! Poor Minerva, THAT has to be frustrating. AARgh. I am very glad I am reading this now so I don't have to wait, lol.AND, the kisses from behind gave me chills... again! I lurve that scene. *Happy sigh*
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Ah, yes, those kisses! I'm glad you liked those! You are a lucky gal, not having to wait for the next chapter to be posted! I am sure that Minerva was very frustrated! Little dancing guy is so cute! Thanks for the review!
Oh, I love the way Albus tells her she is the cure for all his burdens. I know he is good at stating his feelings in obscure ways without coming right out with it bluntly. Though I do like when he does that too, sometimes. This is such a sweet fic. =o)
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Aw, thanks! He'll get a bit blunter! LOL!I'm so glad you're enjoying it! Thank you for the review!
Reading this makes me sort of long to read RAM again. I have the familiar song: Fever, going through my head again, lol. It was a bit awkward when Albus didn't seem affected by her moment. But, then, he is always the reserved one, though he does have his moments, too. =o)
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Minerva certainly moved on to another subject quite quickly, didn't she? Eeep!I recently reread a large amount of RaM -- I had a new and enthusiastic reader ask a question about one of the early chapters, and I had to go back and look at it to see what she was talking about -- and then I just kept reading it. LOL! It was fun to reaquaint myself with the origins of the RaMverse and to see early RaM!Minerva and RaM!Albus. It was really fun to write a non-RaM!ADMM get-together fic -- two, actually, as "A Light at Dusk" is also non-RaM -- and explore slightly different versions of the same characters.I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks very much for the review.
How utterly romantic and very Albus-like ... to confess his feelings to Minerva on a rainy day in Scotland by the window. The image that creates in my head is very vivid and you did an excellent job of it. I was afraid he would lose his nerve when he said it was wrong but quickly breathed a sigh of relief when he moved things to the couch. tee hee. Now, if only he hadn't thought of dessert. I'm looking forward to MORE MORE MORE!!Happy New Year!the GLM
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
I am sure that Albus enjoyed teasing Minerva with the "this is wrong" remark, too. haha! But he did very qucikly reassure her!Thank you very much! I'm glad you're enjoying your little gift fic! Happy New Year!
When I started reading this I was really confused trying to figure out why Albus in 1961 would be somewhat uncomfortable in Minerva's presence and not take immediate advantage of Minerva's "momentary madness". I have gotten so used to (and addicted to! ) your RAM-verse that it took a minute to realize this was outside that universe. I like this new look at how Albus and Minerva's relationship develops. It is very romantic. "A moment...is a relative concept" indeed. Looking forward tot the next installment.
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
LOL! Yes, I probably should put a bold-print warning that it's NOT RaMverse! It is a different sort of take on AD & MM. I look at it as a kind of AU RaMverse , and Albus has a slightly different backstory. Thanks very much for the review! I'm glad you're enjoying it!
I'm ready to read about more madness, momentary or not!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
There will be more coming! I'm visiting family now, but with a measure of foresight I'm proud of , I actaully formatted the chapters the day before I left and I emailed them to myself. LOL! So there will be another chapter up soon! Thanks for reviewing!
*sigh* What a great read for my stay-cation... it helps since Jimmy is sick and we're house-bound for a few days.
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
I'm glad I could provide a little entertainment during your stay-cation!I'm finally on vacation after having had the flu, so I"m away, however, I'll try to upload the next chapter for your stay-cation pleasure. Thanks for the review!
Awwww. You know how much I love these vignettes into our common MMADness. And you DID promise that the rating'll change, didnja?
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Oh, I most certainly did promise, most certainly! There are five chapters, so look forward to number five! I'm glad you're enjoying it!Thanks for the review!
But narrow stairways present such lovely chances. but she needs to go first, he's taller... I love this pairing.
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Ah, yes, the wonderful opportuinites presented by staircases! ;)I'm glad you love the pairing. :) I enjoy writing them togeher. Thanks for the review!
Aww,a missed opportunity for Albus to kiss Minerva in the rain. ACK! I did pick up on the fact that he tried to give her subtle hints throughout their walk ... telling her that he loved her company and he looked forward to it daily. Sweet of him to say.And I see that the Minerva in this story is very similar to the RaM-verse one in that she doesn't like enclosed spaces, except with Albus, tee hee.
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Glad you liked it! It would have been a very uncomfortable kiss, as it wasn't a gentle shower, but a hard, stinging downpour; they'll have to wait for the right rain -- maybe on a warm summer's day? -- for a kiss in the rain. Or else maybe just substitute a shower for the rain! LOL!Yep, Minerva is very similar. I think of this story as being set in a kind of AU-RaMverse , so although there are some distinct differences, they're also very similar, and yep, Minerva's dislike of enclosed spaces is one of them!I'm glad that you are enjoying the little fic! Thanks for the review!
Awesome start to the story and I am very thankful you decided to play Santa. A Momentary Madness is sure to be more than a moment since it's ADMM and you promised a happy ending. tee hee. I felt bad for Minerva when Albus didn't respond. I'm sure he'll make it all better, though. Hoping for an update sooooooon!!!!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Hi, Ang! Glad you're enjoying it. I'm not terribly sure about when the next update will be, but as it's 99% written, as soon as I'm able (given RL), I will update for you!Yes, a nice happy ending for you!Happy New Year,
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)

Author’s Note: DH disregarded.Oh absolutely, disreguard DH, and HBP as well! *nods nods* I am loving this for the 77th time around! WHOOOOOOOO!
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
It's best for my Muse that I disregard DH. In its entirety. But specific bits, especially.
Response from Fishy (Reviewer)
78th time around and I'm still enjoying this ... wish I could have a Sherry and some cake with Pomona and hang out in the castle ... *pouts*
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Wouldn't that be nice? Especially hanging out in a nice cool castle in nice, cool Scotland. With temps over 90 F and high humidity here, I'd love a Scottish holiday, magic or Muggle!Glad you're still enjoying the little fic!
Response from Fishy (Reviewer)
I won't even go into temperature and humidity down here in July ... in the swamp ... fuh ... only treefrogs and mosquitos enjoy weather like this. Scotland castles would be glorious!

This was an adorable end to the story - I love Minerva's pet name for Albus. Silly wizard, indeed! I also liked the way that Albus comforted Minerva about Madoc and the meaning of perfect moments, especially since this is certainly a perfect moment for Albus and Minerva. The lemon was certainly a lovely one, too. The story behind Minerva's engagement with Madoc sounds like an interesting one, although it doesn't seem to have ended well. The universe in this story sounds a little different from the RaM-verse.I do wonder what Madam Dumbledore is like! No doubt Minerva will find tea with her interesting, especially if she's as crusty as Albus says she is, although he does like her.
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Yes, both Minerva and Albus, but particularly Albus, are a bit different here than in the RaMverse. Many things that happened in the RaMverse that shaped Albus's self-perceptions didn't occur in MomMad -- in particular, he never had the misfortune of getting to know Valerianna! Also, as you noticed, his mum's still alive and kicking, unlike in the RaMverse. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter!

Ah, this is lovely. One knows what's coming, which somehow makes the journey there all the more sweet. The sense of two friends who have fallen in love and are moving gently into a new relationship is so nice here. I particularly loved this bit:“You do know that I love you, don’t you?” Albus asked softly.Minerva nodded slightly, knowing that he did, but hoping he wasn’t merely teasing her with his embrace and his gentle kisses, hoping they meant what she had intended the previous evening when she had kissed him.I like this decisive Albus, and I like that he gets just a little carried away here. (Fans self.)I also love the little hints of backstory about Albus and Professor Dippet that you slip into this chapter; things like that make a short story so much richer, I think.“I admit to having a healthy appetite this evening, myself.” Is it terribly naughty of me to think of this as a double-entendre?
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Oh, terribly naughty of you! But in a good way!I'm glad you're enjoying this story. It was fun to write a more decisive, assertive Albus in this fic -- one who gets a bit carried away! Many thanks!

Albus is too adorable! *hums with delight* And I'd love to meet Madam Dumbledore... I have an odd feeling she'd be a lot like Madam Tyree. *grins*
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
They might have a few things in common, 'though Madam Dumbledore is a bit more crusty (my mental version of her for this story, anyway), and mercurial. I probably wouldn't want to see the two of them get into an argument. Or wait, maybe I would. Pop the corn! lol!
Response from Fishy (Reviewer)
*grins* Ahhh, now you HAVE to write it! *grins* More crusty than Madam Tyree? *blinks* Wow.....
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
That would have to be a cross-universe cat-fight, er, debate, since Madam Tyree is only in the RaMverse, alas! LOL!
Response from Fishy (Reviewer)
*chuckles* yes, wouldn't happen - I meant that you must write more on Momentary Albus/Minerva life - and introduce crusty Madam Dumbledore - no no, don't want the Tyrees and Dumbles cat fighting - heaven's no! You silly! Drink your coffee woman! *winks*
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
How could you tell I hadn't had enough coffee yet today??? I've occasionally thought about doing a short sequel to MomMad, but I've not had the writing space to do so. I need to concentrate on my other RL writing project, and after I've made some headway, I'm returning to CSG, so we'll at least be seeing more of Madam Tyree soon!
Albus has got to be the most romantic wizard in the whole world. Tje speech he gave to Minerva about perfect moments was perfect and priceless. That, I'm sure, meant more to her than any roses, jewelry, truffles, or trinkets. The lemony bits between them were wonderful and very well written. Of course, you always do a grand job of writing them together.I couldn't have asked for a better story. It was truly wonderfu and very enjoyable! Thanks, the GLM
Response from MMADfan (Author of A Momentary Madness)
Thank you! I'm very glad you enjoyed the little fic I wrote for you, since you were missing ADMM, and ADMM lemony fluff, in particular. :-)I'm glad you liked Albus's speech about perfect moments. I sometimes think that some of the most romantic moments are the ones that don't have any of the traditional romantic trappings -- though those are certainly nice! You're welcome for the story! It was fun for me, too, especially to "rediscover" writing ADMM in a different get-together fic than RaM.
