Muggle authorities should know better than to mess with the wizarding world's greatest weapon, but then, they have no idea that a priestess of Avalon will never bow to them either.

Interesting set-up. Minerva as High Priestess and all those adopted children. :)
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
*grins*Glad you find it interesting!
I am so hooked. What a fascinating beginning, I can't wait to see where you take us from here!
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
Thank you. I'm glad you liked the beginning.
awesome, love it, especially Herman, can't wait to read the rest of the story. keep spreading the love
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
So glad you do. <3
Only one more chapter? Dang, this is just getting good! I'm glad she rescued Hermann too. That was really tense. I figured something would go wrong.
Response from debjunk (Reviewer)
Oh, and there's just something so much more provocatvie about calling her a priestess as opposed to a nun
i suddenly find myself wanting to watch the never ending story. everytime avalon is mentioned i cant help but think of fantasia. you need a character named atreju lol
so this is a mash of up harry potter, the sound of music, and what else? i recognise the whole avalon thing but for the life of me i cant place it. its interesting tho and i will most definately keep reading :D
I've just read this story stright through to this chapter, and I love its originality. I'm fascinated by ley lines, so
I'm very interested in how you use them. And Minerva
would be so at home in Avalon; that was inspired.
I've been reading the story faithfully and can't wait for the next chapter. It holds my attention and I love the way you've woven in parts of "The Sound of Music". ^_^
That is quite interesting about the ley lines. And I like the basic rescue.
I'm really loving this story :) Thank you so much for sharing it, I can't wait for more! :)
I love the idea of Hermione and Severus together throughout several lifetimes! *sigh*
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
:D I'm glad you like that! Me too!
If your Muse takes requests, I'd like to see Lucius and Severus take care of Umbridge. Graphic detail would be welcome *evil grin*.Thanks for a lovely update! Glad to see our pair have started sorting themselves out. Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
Heh, I rather like that idea, lol!Happy V-Day to you, too!
Wow. Just... wow.I'd say Severus rather successfully put Hermione's fears about himself and Narcissa to rest. And the fact that those past lives show the two of them together, again and again, should pretty much eradicate any shadow of a doubt. I'm sure Severus' kisses didn't exactly hurt either. :)As for the results of Hermione's scrying, I'm not terribly surprised to find that Umbridge is involved in what's been going on. It sounds like she's quite keen to get her hands on Harry and Hermione, and "without restrictions, and unhindered use of magic"... Merlin help them if she gets her hands on them.
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
So glad you liked the chapter! And of course, I have to agree with your take on his kisses. :DI think Umbridge is the kind of person who will always do as the powers that be demand. She'll change her mind with every change of regime and try to gain that little bit of power herself...
Umbridge just can't stop sticking her nose in where it doesn't belong, can she?I liked the interaction between Severus and Hermione. It might have saved Hermione some anxiety, if she'd known about his dreams earlier. Although, she probably needed her own memories to really be sure where they stand. Either way, they are together now, and that is all that matters.SHHHH... Hermann must be sleeping. He missed his cue at the end of the chapter. When he wakes up, please tell him he was missed :)Nine chapters... I'd better get moving. I started this, so I am obligated to finish it, no matter how excruciating of a read it may be when all is said and done. *clears throat*"Your house is alive, with the sound of typing. With more chapters for, me to read and love. I want to hear more, of the sound of typing. So please use this song as a little shove. My mind starts to wonder about all the wild things that may still lie ahead. I'm so glad she found out they're only friends, not sharing a bed."Can't wait for more!
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
Umbridge, I think, has no redemption power at all. I'm so glad you liked their interaction!I think Hermann was busy pondering what lies ahead for them all. *grins*Ooooohhhhhh. I could totally get used to this serenading, you know. Thank you ever so much for putting a big smile on my face!
I think the pair of them are a good way to combat Umbridge. Sigh. That horrid toad woman is vile.
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
Isn't she just? She always goes where the power is...Thank you for reviewing! *pats the shiny stars*
die if she stopped? - Good thing then that I've long since reconsidered half my OTP: Not only does it make my life on this addictive site easier, turns out it also saves hers.. Love the fact that my OT3, which, of course, still includes Severus, doesn't pose a risk to her :PCould it be that mention of the full Beltane Rites will speed things up between Severus and the girl? In this case, I would certainly hope so.Neat twist, that Squib Muggle PM. Loved it.Please update soon.
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
*laughs* Indeed!Next chapter will be up within the next couple of days.
facinating story and i enjoy the som references. thanks and mucho smoochies
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
So glad you're enjoying it!
It seems they have a lot of work to do, and poor Hermione needs to step back and take an honest look at her feelings and that of Narcissa and Severus.
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
Oh, Hermione's looking at her feelings is coming up in the next chapter! And yes, they do have quite a bit of work to do!Thank you!
Good thing those pesky Muggles didn't know how to counteract elemental magic!
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
Isn't it? :PSeriously, if they'd known how to counteract that, the story would be pointless, LOL!
A Squib as Muggle PM, that's original! Minerva seems to know more about Hermione's feelings than she does! :)
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
Aw thanks! It's so hard to come up with anything original in this fandom anymore, lol.
How on earth did the Muggles disable the magic. That's very alarming! :)
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
Electromagnetics can do many things. :PThank you!
An angry squib as prime minister... that's a sticky situation indeed. I am still really enjoying this, and the more info you give, the more questions I have. That means you must update soon! And be careful what you ask for. In the hopes of squeezing more chapters out of you, I will continue to sing. *wonders if there will be enough chapters to finish this song, adding one line each time*"Your house is alive, with the sound of typing. With more chapters for, me to read and love. I want to hear more, of the sound of typing. So please use this song as a little shove."
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
So glad you still follow the story! In order for you to come up with more singing, I'll let you know there'll be 9 chapters. :PThank you, oh songwriter, for the serenading! <3
Oh my! Well, you've just laid to rest my idea of who Hermann's parents were, and I can see why Lucius was not overly excited by the thought of raising his half brother. I wonder what happened to Guinevere Prince and Abraxas Malfoy. I recall that when Minerva and Poppy were discussing Hermann in the Prelude, they talked about the nature of the then toddler:
“Poppy.” Minerva entered the office. “How was the meeting with the Malfoys?” She took a seat opposite the matron.
Poppy smiled. “Better than I dared hope. Narcissa, at least, took to him immediately. Not that I’m surprised, mind. He’s inherited his mother’s beauty. Let’s hope evil won’t destroy him.” She didn’t bother to suppress her shudder.
It is clear that when Minerva stated that it may be necessary to "restore the full Beltane Rites," Hermione became upset. "No. No! I will not lie with some stranger I’ll never know!" If I understood everything that the Lady told her before she returned to Avalon, Hermione has come to realize that she is totally in love with Severus, and she thinks that Severus and Narcissa are carrying on an illicit affair. However, Minerva reassures her that they are only friends. Additionally for Hermione, the thought of having to become the bride of Beltane (if that is the correct term) might require her to become intimate with a man she will never know. But Hermann's thoughts at the end of the chapter made me feel better about the chance for Hermione and Severus to be together... assuming they are all able to defeat the renegades in the Ministry of Magic.
By the way, it is a very clever thing to have the Muggle Minister be a Squib. Very clever. Thank you for another wonderful chapter.Beth
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
Are you sure? Hermann is not Lucius's half-brother, for sure. I'd suggest to look at the other side of the pair... ;)Yes, you are absolutely right where Hermione is concerned. She's young, uncertain, and sees Narcissa and Severus interact on a near-daily basis. No wonder she thinks they're lovers, even though that Halloween night should have put her suspicions to rest.I'm so glad you like it, and as always, thank you for a most wonderful and thoughtful review!

Are you sure? Hermann is not Lucius's half-brother, for sure. I'd suggest to look at the other side of the pair... ;)*head desk* I still don't know who Hermann's parents were, but I do think I see where I messed up with my "Lucius' half-brother" thing. Hummmmm, I think...Creepsy tricksy, this author is, my precioussssssss. 8^)
Response from karelia (Author of The Sound of Magic)
I hope it isn't clear yet! *grins*
What an entertaining tale! I've learned more about the meaning of runes, what deosil means, and I now have a few ideas about Hermann's parentage. It's significant that Hermann's closing thoughts expressed his relief that Severus and Hermione have discovered each other. It's also good to see that Hermione's feelings toward the Malfoys are changing in light of what they have all just been through. I wonder what the Muggle authorities will think and do when they realize that the two helicopters have disappeared. And I'm curious about how they disabled the witches and wizards normal magic. It was positively brilliant how the elemental magic enabled the attacked to become the attackers. Hermione kicked ass, and Lucius didn't do so bad himself.Great chapter!Beth

I'm so glad you like it!Having a complete memory, I'd imagine it easy for Hermann to figure out that Severus and Hermione belong to each other. :)If you look at electromagnetics, you'll find it's very easy to disable certain abilities by simply radiating certain frequencies... Not something found in mainstream, but it's there.
