Professional thinky person. Loves British lit, literary theory, law, philosophy and piles upon piles of good books to read. Cooks and bakes whenever possible. Michigan native, spent some time living in France. Loves black coffee, black tea, black shoes and black clothing. Not in an emo sort of way. *g* I'm a fan of Snape, which you might have noticed. I'll pair him with anybody, and possibly with a few inanimate objects. Hermione knows just how to apply, the carrot and the stick.
This trick always works. Tell a man he is a coward and then he'll square his shoulders, held his head high and affront the day.
that was so empowering! yay! you go get 'em, sev! thanks and christmas and holiday smoochies
Ah I do love a smart yet kind Hermione. I loved the way you portrayed Severus.
Aw. she's so good for him.
Lovely transition from despair and loneliness to hope and determination! :)
Severus reminds me of a half-wild stray cat that used to come by our backyard all the time several years ago. When we started putting out food and water for it, it stayed in the farthest back corner of the yard until we went back inside again. As the months went by, it would get closer and closer until finally it would let us touch it and we found out it was a her. Once we had sufficiently proven ourselves, she was a very affectionate creature--to us. I imagine Sev would be the same way, still snarly at those who have not proven themselves while showing a different side to those few who have.
Lovely story!
Loved it good job

Thank you very much!
Like any wild creature, his snarls were calculated to cover his weaknesses.I love that line. And I think you captured Severus beautifully.

Thank you! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it. There is always something slightly feral about Severus, which I suppose isn't surprising considering how much he's been left on his own.
I love the way she sees him and acts on it. Really enjoyable!

Thank you very much! Hermione is good at noticing and understanding things that other people overlook, and (thankfully for Severus) she's bold enough to act when she knows she's needed. Then again, I'm sure she also spent all that time watching him because she had an interest herself...
I can give you another review for the same drabble can't I? Its on a different archive after all.
I do enjoy how Hermione knows just the right way to goad him into doing what she wants.
I really loved this. I always long for longer drabbles, when what I really always want are longer stories! Great ficlet!
